Generally line-art and red, blue lines are drawn on the same paper. (In traditional way) But It's better to separate layers line-art and colored lines in digital tools. Or it may be some instructions about this from anime studios.

And one more question😅 I remember that 裏塗り is drawn on a different layer. But what about that blue and red lines, that indicate lights and shadows? Are they drawn on the line-art layer? Can you please tell, what "Reference" means in this case? I thought it was an example of how to draw other frames. In the video frames 5, 9 and 13 marked as references. But in genga they're not even detailed. So they're not examples? What are they? EDIT: I've understood what reference is😁 It's a tip from 原画マン for デッサン割り, right? They're not examples of the whole character, they're examples of pose and place
