Drum Patterns Explained: Word Up
🕑 Added 2023-08-11 16:05:38 +0000 UTCCameo's "Word Up" is as 80s as it gets - gated reverb and LinnDrum included. Since we get a lot of comments asking us about sound design we decided to also take an extended look behind the scenes and show you exactly which samples, techniques and plugins we used to create these iconic 80s sounds. Of course you won't need the exact samples and plugins we use in the video, the techniques are universally applicable :)
Be sure to also check out our drum pattern transcription of "Cameo - Word Up".

Just love your final performance! I didn't like this song when I was young but seeing you re-create it here was truly awe inspiring! It has stuck with me for months and I must have watched this one episode a dozen times! Thank You so much!!!!
