Chloe Manifestation - Render Previews
🕑 Added 2025-01-02 22:52:35 +0000 UTCHappy New Year folks! Here are some fresh render previews to blast off 2025, showing the first scenes that involve Chloe. Disregard did the character animation in these, while I took care of the layout, VFX, and other aspects. Still some clipping and a few minor things I haven't caught in the stair walk. Will have to take care of that in post, oop!
For this year, we're mainly hoping to finish Encounter 3, for which I should have another in-progress preview that will be posted somewhere in the next months. We're pretty close to completion in regards to the first part of the animation, so you should also see the first shots of the rooftop battle within that time frame.
Right now the entire rendering process is still lagging behind a little, which is why for this year I also want to get a better render rig that isn't held together by glue and duct tape. Since we're now working on such a high level, I've started looking into actual industry-grade solutions such as the H3 Platform for external GPUs. Unfortunately these things are extremely expensive, but seeing how a solution like that would significantly boost rendering capabilities, it might actually be worth investing into them it in the long run. At the same time, I'm also looking into the Threadripper Pro platform, but the main issue here would be the case itself. If there are some PC builders among you that have any recommendations for super-sized PC cases that can hold two, or perhaps even three 4090/5090-level cards through PCIe extenders, I'm all ears!

Awesome, thanks for the hint! Unfortunately I'm in Europe, which is why this case wasn't on my radar, hah! I'm currently looking at Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 Server as well, which I might equip with a 2000W PSU. It seems a lot like space won't be such a huge issue anymore, as the RTX 5090 just takes up two slots. Well, the Founder's Edition at least. Will have to see if I'm able to snipe at least one of these since the size and memory makes them ideal for a render rig! Thank you for the recommendation! (:

Hi Cake, experienced builder here. First thing's first, I'd ditch intel since their modern stuff is either unstable or unimpressive. If you have a casual $3000 laying around, I'd get an ASRock TRX50 WS motherboard, as it has a suitable PCIe layout for three 4090/5090 cards. Pair that with a threadripper 7960X and some ECC DDR5 (must be ECC DDR5, it's keyed differently than regular DDR5). That thing should rip, on top of having direct connect GPUs, none of that riser nonsense. As for a case, I'll keep an eye out, nothing commonly available that will house such a mammoth of a system. Do you have a discord? EDIT: I re-read your comment and saw that you were already looking into threadripper pro, so it looks like your only real problem is a case EDIT 2: After about 15 minutes of research, I found the Silverstone ALTA D1, which has 11 pci slots and support for 2 power supplies, more than capable of holding the mammoth. Hopefully you're in the US, or shipping gonna be a bitch

This is looking epic; can't wait to see the finished product. Also those stairs are a great addition, much better than just walking on thin air towards him. As for the clipping you mentioned, I couldn't see it, even after watching the clip several times in full-screen mode.

A highly unstable 13900K, 128GB RAM, and dual 4090s. The second GPU being connected through Thunderbolt 3 in an external GPU enclosure which I had to "enlarge" with an angle grinder. <:
