R2 MKIII dome - Single, easy print....
🕑 Added 2018-08-31 08:05:30 +0000 UTC R2 MKIII single print dome as the 500mm bed interest explodes! I've revised the single print dome completely incorporating many "simplifications" to ease a single print dome with virtually no support. All details use a 70 degree overhand, which is virtually invisible but means no support on the panel lines. This domes has all the panels as part of the single print (of course the more complex models I've published can be used for opening panels etc). This dome also has the rings incorporated and a single internal "Lazy Susan" support ring, which can be modified / holes made for you specific susan. Overall, a single print, only three bits of support which will snap out (or use a hacksaw) as they're on 1mm strips and you've got a dome, both rings all ready to sand / finish. I've done the R7 dome in this same format and will release all the domes now in the MKIII format for easy printing but R2 was of course the important first one :-) Happy printing.... looking for version 2 dome need the rings i think version 1 dome well work with the 2 bottom rings of the dome any help finding version 2 dome would be totally a big thank you

Hi there, So, this MKIII Dome is more for a static version, where the pies and panels do not open right? or are the panels on a easy to remove way?

Just curios, what print is everybody using for the 500mm build volume. I was looking at the the Creality CR-10 S5, any recommendations.

It works fine, it’s been printed literally hundreds of times. Basically it prints to a tighter and tighter overhang, then shifts to bridging. Whilst the top underneath isn’t perfect, the outer skin and model prints without issue.
Sorry if this is outdated, but am I correct in understanding that this shouldn't need added support from the slicer? Wouldn't the printing struggle as it approaches the 90 degree overhang?
hello can you help im printing ver 2 and come to a stop at ring2 no 6 revised it will not print as printing in to air when flat bottom. printer ender 3 . if i print 5 and 6 old will it go together. new to printing 3d.
My robotics class just completed our droid. We used 3 PRUSA clones which we built last year to print it.
