Centre module first fit
🕑 Added 2018-05-15 05:29:40 +0000 UTC I’ve fitted the centre lift module to the main frame. Really wanted to test the strength of the lift frame. Fit is good, want to reduce the size a little bit and strengthen a tweak but overall it’s coming along. it’s going to be a big job as I said before, as this part is critical. I will release other stuff in between as this takes shape.Happy Printing,

Hi Ray, still looking, I am tweaking the design to reduce the size a little more. Current thinking is using a brushless outrunner as I need torque, speed and power in a small package. I’ll need to have some reduced gearing also I think to drive it and reasonable control. Encoder with end stops maybe one option or variable resister on an arm (like a big servo).

Did you settle on what motor your going to use for this?

Thanks for the link.

These type of batteries are easy to find a home for. <a href="https://hobbyking.com/en_us/multistar-high-capacity-20000mah-4s-10c-multi-rotor-lipo-pack-w-xt90.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://hobbyking.com/en_us/multistar-high-capacity-20000mah-4s-10c-multi-rotor-lipo-pack-w-xt90.html</a>

Batteries are always a challenge with 2-3-2. SLAs are extremely difficult to fit, however a couple of LIPOS can be slotted in pouches around the side. Was also looking at the battery boxes and a ‘skirt drawer’. All possible.

In this design, where do put the batteries?

It looks like R2 is about to drill for oil.
Hi Michael It is looking good. Are you going to brace it at the top against the leg modules at all, or is it totally supported from the bottom plate? Martin
