MKIII domes
🕑 Added 2018-09-08 09:13:11 +0000 UTC Hi, we have R2, R4, R5 and R7 available as MKIII domes, these are specifically designed for the 500mm beds, no internal fins, so less filament, all use 70 degree for details so no support to remove and clean prints (except R5 as it does have built in support). They have inbuilt rings as well and panels built in. Really should be clean and simple to print! (In the Patreon share).For the three ring body, I started doing the existing design as 3 rings but I’ve rethought the whole design so started a fresh one from scratch and I’m rather excited about it :-) more soon.

Some brackets would be great. I just thought I'd mention it as the one piece domes are great, but many of the builds use the fins on the multi-part domes as mounting points for hardware. So if someone intended to duplicate someone else's build, but were thinking of printing a one-piece dome, they would need to keep that in mind.

The fins I refer to are the ones on the multi part dome, they’re part of the structure and do take a considerable amount of filament. For mounting electronics my preferred solution would be to give some optional brackets which glue to the inner dome rather than adding unnecessary fins for all. Happy to drop some options in, guess it’s a similar issue with the ali domes.

Also, re the lack of internal fins, it does make for a much faster, lighter print, but it also means you have a lot less options for mounting hardware inside the dome, so people need to consider that before printing one of these.
