Runaway In Stepford: Chapter 1

I gave them the option of voting for a few different older stories of mine, all of them one-shots, which I wanted to redo from the ground up as multi-part stories. The winner of the poll was, of course, A Runaway In Stepford, the story which introduced recurring character Molly Johnson.
For those who have read the original story, this isn't just going to be a beat for beat remake. I have a few specific changes in mind I've been wanting to make, ranging from giving a definitive description of Molly's appearance all the way to rearranging and altering moments from the original story. This is essentially a full reboot of Molly's story, and I want to take the opportunity to explore her as a character. Starting with the scrappy runaway, and going all the way to perky, if a bit troublesome, Stepford youth. The original story will still be available to read, but insofar as there is a canon to my work, it is being replaced by this newer, more fleshed out version.

This is off to a really, really good start! I wasn’t sure what to expect bc the original story has been one of my favs of yours ever since I first started reading your stuff, but I love the way you’re expanding and deepening the characterization. Also dig how, after a whole chapter of Bev being a helpful motherly figure, we get the convo with her husband and her repeatedly calling him Sir (one of my fav Stepford wife things), emphasizing the darker part of Stepford too
