Milk Wars - Safety Patrol
🕑 Added 2023-07-19 12:00:01 +0000 UTCTime for us to dip once again into that weird and lovely alternate timeline in which DC Comics' Milk Wars event ended with the villains, the Retconn Corporation, successfully brainwashing the entire JLA and Doom Patrol with their reality warping milk.
Since Milk Wars was, in fact, a battle between the Community League of Rhode Island and the Doom Patrol, it feels like the Doom Patrol perhaps should have been the first subject of this AU, but I put them off for a bit. I honestly just didn't know what angle to tackle them from, outside of the general idea of them becoming the Safety Patrol.
Then, during a conversation with Vasily, I was led to the realization that Crazy Jane (or rather, one of her alters) was the perfect starting point. The rest of the dominoes fell into place from there, and I'm really happy with how this turned out! There's a bit of Doom Patrol lore in this story, but I do my best to explain it all as it becomes relevant, in a way that isn't obtrusive.
If you'd like to look up the characters before reading (even if just to see what they look like), the characters who appear in this story are Crazy Jane, Robotman, Negative Man, Casey Brinke, and Coagula.

This turned out so great! Happy I was able to provide some inspiration. Jane’s canonical Stepford self fits in so well with Milk Wars, I love your Karen! Especially love Coagula’s new outfit
