Pearl Gardens (Stepfordization Story)
🕑 Added 2022-03-30 12:00:05 +0000 UTCI promise that the "stoner trapped in tv" story is coming! I've just been working through some writers block as of late, brought on by all the snowy weather this past winter. Thankfully, as of my scheduling this, I've got it just about finished.
As for this story, which I had saved for just such an occasion, it was inspired by a few specific comics that I enjoy. Those being Hex Wives and Lady Killer. Hex Wives is essentially a straight up stepfordization story, about a coven of witches being brainwashed into 1950s housewives before breaking free and getting revenge. Lady Killer is a 50s period piece about a housewife who moonlights as a contract killer for the government.
I'm sure you can guess how these two influences combine into this story~
