Retro Futurism: Friends Forever
🕑 Added 2021-11-10 13:01:01 +0000 UTCThe idea for this story was inspired by a comment from a reader! They'd asked me what it would be like if a group of girls all got designated on the same day, and I just loved the idea so much I had to see how it played out!
If you've read any of my previous Retro Futurism stories, I'm sure you've seen that there are essentially four "core" roles that women end up with in the setting. Housewives, bimbos, littles, and drones. As a result, these stories tend to stray just a bit away from straight Stepfordization, and touch on multiple kinds of tf fetishes. That said, the setting does maintain a, well, retro futuristic feeling, and the housewives never fall into the background.
So, I hope you all enjoy this new installment in the Retro Futurism timeline!

Thank you! I really love the idea of first and second generation Stepford citizens, seeing how they’d view the society they grew up in when it was the only one they’d ever known. As for your question, I’m honestly not sure. The thing I find easier about short stories is that I can just hammer them out and move onto the next, but multi chapter stories allow me to dig into characters more, showing them grow and change, and explore their transformations with more depth and nuance. I don’t think I really prefer one over the other, but I’ve certainly found oneshots to be easier and less energy intensive, even though the longer stories are (imo) my better ones

Very well written! I love Janet pretending to be cool and above it all while deep down she really hopes to become a housewife like her mom. I always love a mom/daughter dynamic in Stepford stories Just curious: I love your short stories bc we know we’ll get a complete Stepford transformation by the end. Have you also developed a stronger preference for them over multi-chapter sagas?
