While I don't relate to Jaws as well, for me a similar movie I could relate to was Crawl. I lived in FL for 5 years on a town near the beach, I dealt with hurricanes on a mostly annual basis, and Alligators did pop up in my backyard from time to time, so I understood the fears being emphasized through the movie on a personal level. Not as good as Jaws, but much more relatable for me.
