Final Major Update for Initial Game Release

We're back with our promised Major Update in the middle of October to let everyone know how the final stages of game development are coming!Please be informed that this willbe the final major update for the 'Initial Game Release' of Camp Buddy!
We ask that everyone please take the time to read through this post as it contains a lot of information and answers to the questions that most of you have!

STORY/SCRIPTWRITING
As of late September, story for all characters has been fully completed! We have completed our final reviews of Natsumi’s route, the final route in game, and are very happy with the way everything turned out! We have made sure to take our time through this process because we want to make sure that every character is equally represented and has just as deep and complex of a story as each other. We know this process has taken by far the longest in the game's development, and we’ll go into a bit more detail about the story below to tell you just why!
MULTIPLE STORY ARCS and CHARACTER ROUTES
Camp Buddy consists of two major story arcs, always starting with the ‘First Arc’, the first week at Camp Buddy where Keitaro will make choices and decisions during his stay that will affect which of the four routes comes next!
After his first week, Keitaro will have developed an interest in one of the four main characters, Hiro, Yoichi, Hunter or Natsumi. Whichever of these characters he’s chosen will be selected for the ‘Second Arc’ of the game, which consists of the remainder of the game. These four routes share some similar events that happen throughout the story of Camp Buddy but are all totally different in how they are executed, and provide a different and unique story for each of the four main characters!
To give an estimate of the gameplay length, each character’s Second Arc alone is much longer than our previous original game, Bacchikoi, and contains much more variety and exclusive scenes!
SIDEQUESTS
In addition to having stories focused on the main characters, Arc 2 also goes into detail about the backstories and personalities of all the side characters per route for variety.
Like we’ve stated before, certain characters befriend other side characters more than others, so you’ll have to play all the routes to find out who gets along with who the best!

PROGRAMMING
Just like we mentioned in our last Major Update, Jey, our programming director, has been following closely behind our story progress and coding all the scripts for the game as soon as we pass them over to him! We are happy to report that, shortly after the story’s completion in early October, Natsumi’s route has been completely programmed and is in the game, just like the other three characters!
So, with all four routes in game, what does that leave us with? Currently, the highest programming priority is implementing all the voiced scenes, animation and artwork that were missing or being proxied (which we will go into detail about later), as well as implementing our mini-games and beta testing.
Jey has currently finalized all voiced lines in Arc 1, Hiro, & Yoichi’s route, as well as directed our beta testers in finding errors throughout the game to correct before release. Since his hands have been full with these tasks, our other programmer, Corbs, has been moved off of Beta Testing and has successfully implemented all of the Journal Minigame that we previewed earlier into all of the routes in game. He has been working to implement the Foreplay Minigame as well! A lot of our existing staff: Wade, MYM, PooDay, and more have also moved into the Beta Testing Phase.

ART
Now that story has been completed, Mikkoukun and Zael have been able to finally dedicate all of their attention to art and are working non-stop to finish all of the different artworks throughout the game!
We are happy to announce that, just like Hunter, Hiro & Yoichi, all of Natsumi’s route CG and Sex Scenes have been fully drafted! In addition, since completing the story, Mikkoukun has finished all of the Background art in the game, as well as multiple sprite costumes and FX scenes. Since Zael has finished his work, he and Mikkoukun have managed to complete all of the Sex scenes required for animation, and have been working on finishing the remaining art!

ANIMATION
As we stated in our previous update, animation is still in progress and our animation director, Sorashu has been working hard with our other animator, Ziel, to make sure that this awesome feature is in the game!
Unfortunately, after completing story, our team has realized that it will not be possible to animate all 41 Sex Scenes before the intended release schedule and has decided to reduce the amount of animation for the initial release of the game.
WHAT IS ANIMTED IN THE INITIAL RELEASE?
The full initial release of Camp Buddy in just a few weeks will include 5 animated CG’s per character route, as well as 1 neutral animated CG in arc 1. This will reduce the amount of total animated CG’s to 21 for the initial release, but we plan on releasing the next 20 animated CG’s as part of the Taiga route DLC in the future!
Note: The Taiga Route DLC / patch / update is FREE for anyone who officially purchases the game and the entitled patrons for the game copy.
We apologize for this inconvenience, but we would much rather release the game to you guys as soon as possible, rather than delay it even further due to this one aspect. We hope that everyone will understand and enjoy the animation in the game on release!
We also want to emphasize that even though animation has been reduced, we are not dropping any Sex Scenes from the game. These non-animated Sex Scenes will still appear as they were intended to, just without animation for the time being!

VOICE ACTING
On another more positive note, we are happy to announce that all of the voice acting for neutral and non-sex scenes has been completed for all four character routes, and all Sex Scene voice acting has been completed for Hiro & Yoichi’s route!
Our voice actors have done a fantastic job with all of the recordings, and we can’t wait for you to hear the great work they have done! The remaining workload for the voice actors have been prepared and is ready to be sent for the final recording starting tomorrow. These voice files are expected to be turned over and implemented into the game this coming week!

WHEN IS THE RELEASE DATE?
As we mentioned in the previous Major Update, our release date is scheduled on October 28th, 2018.
We are still currently maintaining this goal and expect for the project to be complete by this date, but as we are also pushing towards release and implementing all of these final tasks that we described above, we cannot accurately predict when the finish will be exactly. In the week before release, we will make sure that you are all informed through a Minor Update and know exactly when the release will be, but for now we will have to leave the date as October 28th, and provide more details as more project aspects are finished!

PATREON REWARDS & WEBSITE
As you all know, we had temporarily dropped Patreon Rewards down to one single solo set with no background for the past few months, in order to allow us time to finish the development of the game.
We are happy to announce that, thanks to the game nearing its completion, we will be able to finally return Patreon rewards to normal, starting November of 2018! We want to thank everyone for their patience with these simpler, solo sets, and we will make a minor announcement at the beginning of November to change Pledge values as well as a new poll!

Heyy, so i won the game from a "giveaway" and it's the older version, how can I update it 😅
so uh if I hit purchase, it'll be dowloaded on to my computer? The full version
How about no. It doesn’t matter how much time they spend they will always be working on updates. Have you never played a game that still has constant updates and patches for bugs? Even if we were to wait until “everything was finished” they would still have to update and patch and work out bugs.

Price isn't fixed yet, however to get the game via Patreon you need a cumulative pledge of 50$, so I imagine the final price shouldn't be too far from that.

Seeing as I was one of the ones who was indifferent towards the inclusion of the animated scenes, having to wait for Taigia's Route for them all to be implemented really isn't that big a deal for me. While the samples you have shown us look really good, they are far from the main selling point for me, So I'm glad we will be getting this game sooner, rather then latter at the expense of a few of them. Plus, it will give everyone a reason to play through all the routes again, one Taiga's comes out, lol. Thank's for all your hard work, I know it will have been well worth the wait!

This all sound really great ^^ I can't wait to play Yoichi's route :p and I'm happy you and your team aswell as us can finally see a finish line for the initial game ^^ I really appreciate the time and work put into this project but I have one tiny little thing to say for the expansion please don't make as many estimated release dates xD 7 for this one were already alot it kinda hurts your teams credibility a bit which is sad other than that I have nothing bad to say ^^ Continue the great work Mikkoukun and everyone of the team aswell of course I will continue to support you guys :p Really looking forward to the release ^^
