Major Announcement : Holiday Update

We hope that you all have a wonderful time this holiday season, and we'd like to wish you all 'Happy New Year' in advance as well! 2017 was quite a wonderful year for the Camp Buddy game development all thanks to everyone's unwavering support, especially from our generous patrons!We've prepared a progress update for everyone to see regarding the development so far with Camp Buddy upon reach the end of this year! Please take the time to read everything! Hopefully this announcement answers most of the inquiries that you may have!

STORY / SCRIPTWRITING
We've decided to discuss this aspect of the development first as we have been fully focused on working mostly with story and scriptwriting ever since the last major update (October 2017).
We're happy to announce that both Hiro and Hunter's story routes have been completed! Adding to that, we are also halfway in Yoichi's story route!
To give you all a brief idea, we'd like to give you a detailed example!:
Estimation by Playable Days
- Hiro's story route alone contains 18 playable days (29 if various endings are included).
- If we include the first half of the game, playing Hiro's route would have a whooping total of 26 playable days per one full playthrough! (35 if various endings are included).
Estimation by Word Count
- Playing through Hiro's route and reaching one of the game endings would have an estimated amount of 120,000+ words!
- If we include the first half of the game (60,000+ word count), we'll have a total rough estimation of 180,000+ words per one full playthrough!
And that's just talking about Hiro's route! What's awesome is, the same goes for the other character routes! We will try to keep everything balanced, making sure that every character route shines in its own way in terms of the storyline!
What's taking it so long?
We are aware that the process has been taking our team a huge amount of time, and we currently have only three people to work together with the story. We've also tried recruiting several writers in order to speed things up , but unfortunately ving too many people to work on the story would not produce the ideal vision we had for the story. Miscellaneous documentation such as proofreading and cue-placing are all handled by a separate department though! What's most crucial is the execution of the plot into dialogues. We prefer to execute the story just as our team has envisioned it, making storywriting the most meticulous process of the development.
Our solution!
On a brighter side, we have found a solution to improve the pace! Our writing team has developed a new step-by-step method on how we will write story from now on. On top of the new method, we've also modified our schedules in order to put heavier priority to the storywriting process.
With these adjustments, It will now consume up to three days (originally four) to complete writing one in-game day! Once the story is completed, the rest of the development will definitely be faster, and we will be able to declare a reliable release date!

ART
CGs / Scene Images
As mentioned above when we were able to finish Hiro's route, the creation of the new CG scenes came along with it! We were able to determine all the CGs needed in every completed character route, and we have drawn the CG scenes side by side when we were writing the story to guarantee that it's depicted perfectly as intended! Here are some teasers, with the new CGs that have been generated!
We're sorry we really don't want to spoil any more new contents to maximize the actual playing experience. But here's a super low quality of teaser of one of the hottest R-18 CGs in Hiro's route! (all his CGs are hot anyways~)
New Extra Characters + Cameos
On top of the original 15 Character-Cast (15th character being Yuki), a handful of extra characters, and cameo characters have been added to the game. These characters each have specific roles to play to support a certain character route, so please look forward to seeing them in the game!

As previously announced, we're going to feature our new character: Connor Bleufin in this update!
Connor was designed by Jey, our BLits team member and Camp Buddy's programmer!
He has a fisherman's vibe about him, as you can tell with his accessories and the anchor sigil! Connor will only be making a brief appearance in Camp Buddy, but stay tuned - you might see him again in the future! He definitely has a main protagonist vibe, doesn't he? =w=

- An extended version of the main theme is currently in the works by Mimi Neko!
- New BGMs / soundtracks composed by MYM have been added into the game (now a total of 32 BGMs)

Question, I understand the overview states: "The tier of reward will be based on the accumulated successful pledges of a patron over the course of the 3-month campaign (October-December 2016) and further additional pledges until May 2017!" Is it too late to pledge the full amount needed and still get a copy of the game or do I just have to wait until the actual release to buy a copy?
This is so good a pity ichiru and toshu only be in the background I wanted at least keitaro to talk to them or they would appear fast confirming the dating as well as the connor He is so cute a pity not to be used he would make a good Rival for hiro

Hahaha, don't worry I'm fully aware that adding characters will really make the workload bigger, but some of the character that are new are only for support/Cameo! They would help me out explain each character route's stories! Most of the cameos wont have any voice acting so it's really not of a huge workload~ I really wish god can really send us a new animator xD

If they were to be together in a poll where the winners have a scene together maybe but considering how people were voting up until now it's not likely since Goro is one of the least voted characters altogether and Hunter is the least voted main route guy ( he still gets more votes than most of the minor characters though) and if you meant in the finished game I wouldn't expect it. Maybe as a bonus scene but I highly doubt that he would go for that pairing as a bonus ( you never know though xD)

Felix, Seto, Eduard and Lee are minor characters, just like Yuri. They have an important role to play in the story but they do not have playable routes. However, minor characters such as Yoshinori, Aiden and Goro are confirmed to have their route on the expansion of the game in the future.

It just means they are characters that make a brief appearance inside the story (that could be a short scene with them or that they are just somewhere in the background art) and that they are characters that under normal circumstances would not appear at all in the story whether thats because they don't even belong in the universe of said story or other circumstances. I'd say they are more fanservice than story progressing relevant charcters. Toshu and Ichiru also already had a cameo apperance in one of the camp buddy backgrounds.
I was wondering, you said the new characters will be just support characters, so what about Felix, Seto, Eduard and Lee? Will they also be support characters or since they are from the main cast you will make something for them? Srry if you cant anwser this question.

I have a question regarding the bonus rewards for pledgers above 30 USD. Does this indicate I would have to pledge 60-75 USD to get it since the deluxe set is kinda unnecessary if you pledged every month since june and the buddy set is something I don't really want to spend money on considering that the rewards are all in the game and I can simply wait. So could I for example pledge 40 USD and get the bonus reward for above 30 USD or do I really need to be in one of the two categories above 30 USD? (Also why does my comment not show up it is invisible for like the third time I tried now D:)

hmm, so if the story is being written at a pace of 3 irl days for 1 in-game day, and the remaining routes are the same size as hiros i guess no update for another 135 days? Not counting "various endings" (not sure how to compute that)

I mean I do agree but then again it is a bonus reward he wouldn't need to do at all. We don't even know for sure if it is the threesome redone or not so let's wait before jumping to conclusions but I would also prefer ( if it is the threesome and a dp for that matter) if it was Natsumi being dped by Yoichi and Hiro because I still think that's more exciting than a Hiro or Yoichi dp because you would expect it more from either of the two than Natsumi but I guess we will just wait and see how it turns out I'm sure it looks good ^^ and considering that neither position nor anything else except the three characters and a glimpse of what it will look like is revealed waiting would be better (I will only voice out concerns about it once I even know how the whole thing looks like xD) Considering the different poses people wanted I'm suprised that this could actually even be a redone version of the threesome since he simply can't please everyone with doing one version of it (pretty please for three versions with the bottom switching xD thats a joke by the way not gonna expect this much work flowing into a bonus reward)

First time I see Connor, I think, Mikkoukun add more charecter?!!! Hey, you know how workload you are but you still add him to this game. Are you macho? After read announcement, I understand his role now and good to know that he will be cameo only. It seem you just announce Camp buddy II, right? (although Camp buddy I release day isn't announce yet...) I notice your homepage, you edit release date to be the first half of 2018, right? I know you have hard-time when some crew resign especially animator, this position isn't easy and hard to get someone handle this. I wish god will send animator to you as present in Christmas day. When thinking about it again ( and that is just hypothetically speaking) this could actually be a remake of the threesome considering the three characters are the ones from the threesome and that Yoichis preview has blue and orange lines in it xD ( It also seems like Hiro is peeking over a shoulder or something and considering that left from him seems to be an object (or a person) and the fact that the orange outlines from Yoichi are right from him this totally seems to be the scene with the three of them ( could still be wrong though) xD ( Guessing it is Natumis and Hiro dping Yoichi based on their expressions if it really is the threesome otherwise I can't seem to fit in Natsumis expression xD)
The release date has been indefinitely postponed. so sad.. . T_T

First of all Merry Christmas to everyone ^^ Moving on to the update it's great to hear that each route will have this huge amount of content in it. I'm really excited to see it once the game is released. ^^ Personally I think you and your team should take the time that is needed. I'm sure it's going to be worth the wait even if it takes a couple more months to be finished. Now onto the sneak peeks for the bonus rewards. I'm definitely excited for the Yoichi one and can't wait to see who is fondling with his nipple xD The Hiro one looks also really promising and I'm sure that Natsumis bonus reward will surely also be great ^^ So all in all I'm totally happy with the development of the game and I'm surely going to support it through to the end.
