Mantiski leads the band from behind the magnificent single-stringed washtub bass, an instrument she can feasibly play with those forelimbs! Agnes is just happy to be here, busting out those heartfelt solos on her kazoo and scrubby washy thing. Tapia is selling it all the way to the nosebleed seats on her guitar she made from guitarbage. And consummate professional Belle is pissed off at Mantiski for booking yet another /chicken/ shit gig out in the sticks. Belle's blown better jugs for better bugs. She should have taken up that offer from the Riverbottom Nightmare Band. Those guys were goin' places (like the drunk tank).

Someday I need to get around to writing my backstory for Sunset in the human world pre-high school. (Basic concept: street rat Sunset met a series people who kept her stable and restrained her worst impulses . . . until she infiltrated the high school solo, at which point she spiraled into her worst self.) I bring this up because: a) this is a place where names like Sunset Shimmer, Cadence, Twinkleshine, and Minuette might actually be recognized, and b) in the time between when Sunset met human Cadence and when Luna finally tracked down her niece (Cadence) and adopted her, the two of them and their friends survived by busking and begging. There's seriously only one song I've completely settled on for the busking. Early in the evening, just about supper time Over by the courthouse, they're starting to unwind Four kids on the corner, trying to bring you up Cady picks a tune out, and she blows it on the harp Down on the corner, out in the street Cady and the Poor Girls are playing Bring a nickel, tap your feet Twinkle hits the washboard, and people just got to smile Minu thumps the gut bass and solos for a while Sunset twangs the rhythm out on her Kalamazoo Cady goes into a dance and doubles on kazoo (And so on.)

I think I know why, probably Disney copyright nonsense. I swear they only bought the muppets to sell plastic Kermit the frog toys…I don’t even want to talk about Muppetvision 3D 😔 but I bet I can still find the original on a less than legal streaming site 😈

Henson was all in on the same things you fight for, I feel. 'Too pure' gets tossed around a lot but the man had teeth and left us as he was on a rocket upward, projects that would have been nukes had he been able to stick around to see them though.

Your upbringing and the media culture that shaped you really shines though. But you have your own flavor and this piece is just one shining example of that. When I first reached out to you years ago, I didn't know why other then I really liked your stuff and now with WwF, I know why! Not only are we in the same age range, but your stuff just calls to me. This is just so adorb and speaks with the same love that Henson had for his characters and the message he could give with them.

Creedence Clearwater Revival! What a great choice of music for a jug band. (It's literally called a washboard or rubboard, if you're doing Zydeco, and the two styles are similar!)

Every once in a while someone will put the original 70s version of Emmet on YouTube and it really has to be seen. It's a heartbreakingly pure story about familial love, the crushing burden of poverty, and luck versus effort. Also there's a snake that plays a guitar.

First of all oh my god the youngsters of WWF have never looked more adorable and street urchin like. Second of all of all I am uncultured swine when it comes to most of Jim Henson’s work (I probably know more about him as a person than his works) so thank you for showing me this masterpiece of puppeteering. God otters are so cute
