That is very interesting, and will help my narrative! So thank you for educating me!

Thanks so much, J!

To quote Mama Ru, CONSIDER THAT STOLEN

Ooo this is extra interesting to me because in Jewish families having a boy and a girl is required for the mitzvah of having kids. Ida probably stopped having kids figuring she was all set, then Ike had to go and be true to himself or WHATEVER (in her mind)

You have heard of the mohel who specializes in circumcising elephants, right? The pay is lousy, but the tips are big. 😈

This is SO impressive. As Lopoddity said, the lighting really is phenomenal. And yeah, there's so much said here without anyone actually speaking.

I love that!

Fun fact: The term "shamus" in reference to private detectives is derived from "shammas", the 'helper' candle that lights the other candles on the menorah... :) And a lovely picture! Good yom tov! :D

Thanks so much for your kind comment, Lop! Indeed, even though they are antagonists to Ike and Gnewt's happiness, I am not willing to make Ida and her older sons villains in WwF. Ida will never be Sheila Broflovski. However, she wants what she wants out of life and she's the boss of this herd, dammit. She's also clearly a woman of class and refinement. I very much appreciated this opportunity to introduce Ike's family, and I'm genuinely pleased to hear that I did them justice.

Okay, for one, the lighting on this is phenomenal. 💗For two, I have always been dazzled by your ability to express so much about a character from their very first appearance. Like immediately I have a strong feel for Ida and the older sons personalities, and they haven’t even said a word! It’s already obvious how Ida feels about her perceived daughter vs how she does about her sons, who’s bickering she’s probably dismissing with a “boys will be boys mentality”, while Ike has her full attention. I adore Ida’s holiday garb, and the way she’s scooping babie Ike up with her trunk so loving and tender is just. AH! *chef’s kiss*. I expected to see a moody teen Ike for this, so seeing him as an adorable tiny tot is such a treat!
