CTR is not a program that predicts the future. CTR does not know what you want until you make a change to CTR. CTR is a sandbox, in which you can create any configuration of any needs. The basic CTR settings are designed for basic TDP. That is, it is inappropriate to compare CTR base settings and PBO base settings. In order to compare - you need identical volt settings. I think this makes sense.
There are recommendations or notes for each CTR build. Since you are an independent person and you have an independent system you have the right to use the settings you like. If you don't like LLC Auto, don't use it. If you like higher voltage, use it. You don't have to tell all users that you can't make your own decisions. I think this makes sense.
Why don't some users have problems? Every system is different, every processor is different. AMD uses higher voltages to achieve the stability of both good and bad samples. If you have a good sample you have a chance to get much better performance than a user with a bad sample. This also applies to stability. You are using different motherboards and different settings. That is, each system is a special case and does not have to be the rule for all. I think it is logical.
In addition, there are a number of problems that are created by the ecosystem in which CTR works. It could be drivers, it could be another BIOS update, it could be a motherboard manufacturer error, it could be a Windows problem. Historically, there have been an enormous number of problems before CTR. For example AMD has been trying to fix USB for three years. Does CTR have something to do with it? Definitely not.

* Reduce OB to 8 or try changing CPU LLC. Sometimes you just need to reduce the frequency of the PX profile (-25 MHz for example).
* Why am I getting a message that a third-party app is trying to block CTR?
* This means that the third-party application is written by an unscrupulous developer, this software does not provide the ability to use shared resources. It could be RGB app, it could be another monitoring app or driver. CTR has a key feature - to warn the user that his system is not working properly. Other applications don't know how to tell you this, so you won't get similar notifications in other applications.
* I want performance more than PBO!
* You don't have to say it in the forum, you have to say it to the CTR. You just need to increase the voltage for P1 and P2 by 100mV, sometimes even more. Safe range up to 1.35V.
* Reboot during diagnostic!
* This is a natural phenomenon, it is not a bug or an error. All important CTR data is saved every step of the way. After reloading, CTR will automatically recover and load the last successful step into the profiles.
* My performance in CPU-Z is low!
* There are a lot of primitive and old applications which do not use CPPC (technology to increase system performance by using only good cores). AIDA64, CPU-Z and Geekbech not use CPPC. This means that you always get results that will never match what a system with CPPC is capable of. Games and any working application use CPPC. I did not add support for the applications that are easiest to falsify for results. I sincerely hope that you bought the system for gaming or work, but not for round-the-clock CPU-Z tests.
* SMU BUSY!
* In most cases you will find this message in AGESA 1202. It means that your SMU has a high percentage of usage. I think this is a microcode bug or a feature which fixed the USB bug. Nothing wrong with that, but the high usage rate may indicate that there is a queue of commands and the CTR may not work efficiently.
* What are your recommendations for making CTR work well?
* Curve Optimizer disabled, CPPC enabled, Preferred Cores enabled, AMD PCI driver unistalled and no other monitoring software (MSI Afterburner and HWINFO are friendly). System without RGB app. They seriously reduce system performance and cause lags in games. Windows 2004 and newer must be used.

Hi, first of all... Thanks man! You made a great piece of software here. I'm trying it, saying first, that I'm a programmer, loving hardware stuff, but not so expert in tuning or overclocking. Running a 3900x with an Asus Crosshair VIII with 3200Mhz (XMP) ram. When you say... Remove all RGB software, Should I completely uninstall it or may I just close it? I'm using Corsair ICUE (last version) to handle lighting on my keyboard, mouse and coolers. Also, would be safe to uninstall AMD PCI driver? Not sure about what it uses or handles, but I got PCI 4.0 drive and GPU. Could you give me some advice or your opinion? Thank you!

This driver has bugs, it can sometimes cause the game to crash or you get a system reboot.

And I have a very frequent crash in diagnostics, it is natural. Show the last log. By the way the category is very much influenced by memory overclocking, if you use 2133 you will probably get gold, if it is 3800 you will get bronze. Overclocking RAM loads the processor even more, it runs faster, but has a small performance reserve.

I had gold sample for the first few months and everything ran well. Ran into an issue , had to clear cmos. Now it's always bronze and many times crashes when running diagnostic. Now the cb20 result aren't as good. Any idea what it could be?

In 99% cases - iCue. You can delete it, or you can just turn off the notifications.

Its a great tool, you can really bring out the most of your system if you utilize it correctly. For those of us that don't have a Dark Hero its a savior.
