The ad for this episode was a large departure from our usual impromptu shoots. It was also a fun opportunity for me to do a little bit of writing, directing, and some creative cinematography. You’ll actually see a maneuver around 1hr 24min that required all 4 of us [Brian, Jason, Bryce, and me] simultaneously working together in order to create an in camera effect.
If you watch the original video, you’ll notice that I also had fun with several effects in post. It was a nice change of pace; I haven't played with my greenscreen since I lived in LA. In the end, I think we created a pretty good ‘love letter’ to 90’s video game commercials.
Oh, and we also play with chemicals, and set things on fire.
