🕑 Added 2023-10-29 14:12:35 +0000 UTCAfter I finished working on the Sword of the Nazgul and made a post about it, one attentive person drew my attention to one detail.
It turned out that I took as a basis for my work a replica of the sword, which differs from the original. The sword from the film does not have a metal ring on the handle, and the pommel is also slightly different.
What I'm thinking about: I want to make a second version of the Sword of Nazgul handle in the future that will match the original from the movie.
My nature as a perfectionist gives me no rest and requires me to make such a version. And I give in, I want to do as this nature tells me, as soon as I find the time for this.
Question: are you interested in this and do you need it?

I'm looking at the image you posted and I have a hard time seeing the difference, at least for the metal ring in the middle. The prop seems to have had the leather wrapped over a shape/ring, and in your design you designed it with crisper edges, as if it was a metal ring separating the two halves of the grip, is that correct? The OG pommel might have been a bit longer than what I see in the render, if that's what you are referring to. I'm a stickler for detail and accuracy, in most anything, not only props. So part of me says 'sure, make an update, more accuracy cannot be bad'. But I've come to learn that sometimes the 'original' physical prop is actually less 'lore accurate' because of time/budget constraints when building the props. Looking at the movie prop image, its wrap is rather poorly done at first glimpse. Compared to some other weapons in the movies, the Witch-King's sword was not used in so many close-ups or so extensively, so I don't know if they built it completely to 'hero' quality standards. Would I personally need the update? No, need is too strong a word, given the already amazing look and accuracy of your design. Would it be nice to see it go that extra mile? Perhaps, but not at the cost of your own stress level and schedule. I would suggest adding it to the 'to do' list of updates for past props, and to tackle it when you need to take a break from a larger 'whole' project.
