Chapter 354 - Which subject do you choose? - Trial run
🕑 Added 2023-07-23 17:48:22 +0000 UTCYour first thought was to instantly try it out on John but given that you only got to try it once every 24 hours, you didn’t want to mess up and ruin your first attempt. Given that Emma was already aware of what was about to happen it felt right to try it with her first before your other subjects.
You clicked the icon on Emma’s profile and after the usual prompt to confirm your choice, you were greeted with another message you hadn’t expected.
Would you like to activate ‘Eye of the Beholder’?
Yes
Due to the subject being already aware of the KDK, would you like them to be aware of the ‘Eye of the Beholder’ effect?
It took you a little longer to respond to that message as you considered the possibilities. You had thought about having spies previously as just random subjects but if Emma could be aware of you to some degree, that would be a game change.
For this scenario however, Emma might freak out from the change and that was the last thing you wanted while out in public. It was a shame that you wouldn’t be able to test it out for another 24 hours but as you couldn’t back out at this point, you decided to stick with the default option.
Due to the subject being already aware of the KDK, would you like them to be aware of the ‘Eye of the Beholder’ effect?
No
As soon as you selected the option, it felt like a part of your consciousness split away from your body and instantly appeared within Emma. The fact that she was standing while you were sat down left you feeling disoriented and you had to brace yourself in the changing room as your senses struggled to keep up.
You watched as Emma picked out one of the outfits Grace had grabbed for her and she began changing into the new clothes. Her eye lingered on her mother as she did the same, letting you watch Grace get undressed. Watching through Emma’s eyes gave you a weird perspective of watching her get dressed that you would have never dreamed of having beforehand, and it only felt weirder when she looked in the mirror to examine herself and you didn’t see yourself in the reflection.
Your grip on the bench loosened as you continued to watch and it was only then that you realised you could still actually grip the bench in the first place, knowing you were still conscious and awake. You had closed your eyes as a reflex but opening them again let you see the changing room you were in even while you could still see what Emma was seeing.
Without any frame of reference you knew in reality, the only way you could describe what was happening was as if you had a third eye available to you. You had this instinctive feeling that you could close it any time you wanted but that would most likely end the vision before the ten minute timer was up.
The other thing you noticed was that you could still hear what was going on in both places at once, the sound of Emma fixing her clothes being too quiet for you to hear normally.
Smell, taste, and touch seemed to be unavailable to you but just having the ability to hear what was going on was a gift you didn’t expect. You didn’t know if there were any new shop items that added those senses as additional features but you expected that would put even more of a strain on your mind.
Attempting to stand up while this was going on seemed too much for you currently and without the intelligence upgrades you had gotten so far you wondered what would have happened if you had never bought any when you first experienced this.
Instead, you got used to watching her while you kept your own senses in check, having plenty of time to stare at the gift that Emma was giving you. You kept seeing her smiling in the mirror as she knew you were likely to be watching and her eyes naturally drifting towards Grace’s body were perfect reminders of how amazing both of them looked. They only stripped down to their underwear while they tried on the clothes but seeing them like this did give you some thrill that you couldn’t quite put your finger on.
“Aren’t you gonna try on anything else?” Grace asked, causing Emma to stop her staring and actually carry on trying on the other clothes.
“I was just seeing how the one looked” Emma said as an excuse, now only glancing at Grace through the mirror to give herself some deniability.
What you did end up seeing left you wanting more and if anyone were to see you now it would be difficult to explain why you had an erection sitting alone in a changing room.
You wanted to watch for as long as possible but you had your own clothes to try on and even if you sat there for the whole ten minutes you had available, you expected that either Grace or the woman standing guard would start getting suspicious.
Closing your eyes, you focused on that feeling of wanting to end the connection and just like that, everything turned back to normal. The loss of what had almost felt like a new sense was just as jarring as acquiring it but it was a lot easier to handle, letting you sit for an extra few seconds before you felt comfortable enough to stand up and actually get changed.
It took you less time than you had seen Grace and Emma take as they got dressed and you went through what Grace had picked out in quick succession, finding the clothes fitted you quite nicely and you were happy with how they looked. You still put some of them aside so that Grace wouldn’t spend as much money on you and you knew she wouldn’t accept you not agreeing to all of them.
You actually ended up leaving the booth before either Grace or Emma and after an awkward minute of standing around trying to not look suspicious, they finally opened the curtain and stepped out. There wasn’t a chance to catch Emma on her own but you knew you would get one in the future, Emma now most likely wanting to hear how it went just as much as you wanted to tell her.
That time actually came about quicker than you expected as Grace went to take the clothes from your hands.
“I’m gonna go pay for these, yours included Max, so the both of you can either come with me or wait outside” Grace said, taking a look out of the corridor you were in before she carried on.
“The queue looks pretty long so if one of you could go put the rest of the stuff in the car as well that would be great” Grace asked, getting ready to grab the keys if either of you accepted them.
