Chapter 340 - Do you stop dwelling on the weekend plans? - Just a little longer
🕑 Added 2023-06-18 18:26:28 +0000 UTCGrace sensed where your mind was heading and butted in before you got too deep into your thoughts, a welcome interruption from your perspective.
“I’m sure Mary would love that. Me on the other hand… I think I’m past the point where I should be going off on dates. Especially with a guy half my age” Grace teased, lightly bumping your arm with her elbow.
“Come on, Please? I’ve gotta show you off to people at some point and nobody is gonna believe I’m half your age. Plus you can’t go streaking again if you never go out in public with me” you joked back, repeating the same jab back at her.
“And I’m sure you wanting me to go streaking has no other benefits for you” she shot back.
“I never said that. I’m just hinting that you're bound to have a good time when we do go on dates” you responded.
“Oh, so it's fully decided that we are going on dates now?” Grace said, raising her eyebrow at you.
“If I get to decide then it’s certain that we will” you replied.
You shot a few more jabs and probing questions back and forth but eventually Grace felt comfortable enough to lean over and put her head back on your shoulder, the teasing continuing but at a lower volume.
Emma did eventually finish up in the bathroom and when the door opened, Grace went to move to be away from you.
“No don’t!” Emma cried out, reaching out to point a finger at Grace to stop her, almost losing her towel in the process.
“She’s so bossy when she wants to be” Grace joked, taking a few seconds to stare at Emma before settling back down where she had been resting.
Only then did Emma return to what she was doing and start getting ready. You saw that Grace did frown when Emma took off her towel to get dressed but she didn’t comment on it, most likely thinking it would be a bit hypocritical to do so after everything that had happened last night.
“I’ll go next then” you said after Emma had nearly finished getting ready, letting Grace move off your shoulder before you got up.
You had a few reasons for going before Grace but it also gave them a chance to talk without you interrupting and the last thing you wanted to do was get between them if they needed the chance to talk.
Similar to yesterday, your mind drifted to the purpose of the trip but you didn’t get as heated this time, knowing that thinking about it any longer wasn’t going to be productive until you learnt something new. Any wild scenario you imagined would likely not even be real so all you needed to do now was get ready to see what your spying would result in.
You didn’t take as long as Emma did to go through your usual routine, even with you paying a bit more attention to your looks when you would be spending all day with Emma at your side.
Emma and Grace were sat side by side on the edge of the bed when you walked back in and while you were worried you were interrupting something, Grace smiled when she saw you and got up from where she was sat, patting Emma on the shoulder as she got off the bed and then doing the same to you when she passed by on the way to the bathroom.
“I didn’t interrupt did I?” you asked Emma, taking Grace’s spot on the bed as you sat next to her.
“No. Nothing important anyway. She just asked about my kink again as she doesn’t seem to understand it quite yet. Plus after what happened last night I think she was worried about how I would see her from now on.” Emma explained.
She paused for a moment as if expecting you to jump in but you just let her do the talking, knowing she likely wanted to get this off her chest while you two were alone.
“I mean I do think about her differently but not in a negative way or anything. It’s just hard to put into words without her probably freaking out and I don’t want her to stop any of this just because of me” Emma said, looking slightly glum.
“This is a little like me and Mary. Not to make your situation sound any less important by making a comparison but the similarities are there. I think it’s just that first hurdle that needs crossing even if it’s a little uneasy at first. I mean I blackmailed her which I wouldn’t exactly recommend you use but it worked out in the end. Can’t get any worse than that right?” you joked, seeing Emma calm down somewhat with that.
Emma was still silent but like how you were dwelling on some other topics, you decided to help her do the same.
“We do have an ongoing bet that we could try and solve though if you wanted to figure out that?” you asked, Emma looking to the bathroom door to confirm it was just the two of you around.
“Do you know where the room key is? It would be a bit weird if Grace came out and saw that both of us had locked ourselves out” Emma asked, immediately perking up.
“One of us could stay?” you mentioned, getting a side glance straight back.
“Not that I don’t trust you but the stakes are pretty high for me and I don’t want to risk it” Emma replied.
“That does sound like you don’t trust me” you said, making a joke out of it as you understood her point.
“I trust you with most things but if you have a horny motive behind it then I’m slightly more cautious around you” Emma jabbed back.
As much as you enjoyed the conversation, you did get up to see if you could find the room key, knowing that Grace wouldn’t have had it on her when she went to the bathroom.
Emma was the one to find it first and quietly rushed off to the door as if racing you to go get the answer first.
“What’s the excuse if we don’t get back in time?” you asked after you caught up to her at the door and tried to silently shut it to.
“We can just say we went looking at the breakfast options. I don’t she will believe us no matter what we say but just in case we should check on that too” Emma replied, finding a good enough excuse in your eyes.
You were going down in the elevator before you knew it and while you stood side by side waiting for the doors to open up to the lobby, the atmosphere got a little more tense as you both had something different to gain from the outcome of what you would find.
With a ding, the doors opened and you saw the front desk directly ahead of you, stepping out to head on over without chickening out.
