Chapter 329 - Do you notice anything suspicious once you're inside? - Play it cool
🕑 Added 2023-05-16 17:43:13 +0000 UTCYou let Grace walk ahead of you and Emma and watched as she went just out of earshot for you to quietly talk with Emma.
“You got any explanation for having the room as a one bed that doesn’t involve Grace wanting to do something just as much as us?” you asked, trying to lower your expectations about the situation.
“I haven’t got a clue!” Emma replied, raising her voice slightly too loud for Grace to turn back and notice the two of you whispering to one another.
“Hey, catch up before I have to separate you two again. I know we haven’t got a workout session planned this weekend but don’t think I won’t force you to run around the block or make you use the hotel gym” Grace warned, a threat that you thought she would easily act upon if you gave her the chance.
“We were just we didn’t leave anything behind in the car” you said, giving a flimsy excuse.
“Of course you were. Now, chop chop” Grace replied, not believing you but still not asking for more details about what you were trying to discuss.
As you got closer to the building, the Cavalier Hotel seemed bigger than you had expected from the promotional pictures you briefly saw on the website. They were a larger chain so they could have used pictures from another of their locations but you still wouldn’t have expected a hotel of this size to be in a relatively small town such as this.
You got to the mains doors and walked inside into the lobby, a grand staircase off to the back leading to the next floor up and the front desk off to one side opposite the elevators. Grace continued to take the lead and you followed behind, making sure Emma was okay with the suitcase she was wheeling behind her.
Emma seemed to look a little nervous heading to the front desk but she gave you a look that told you she already knew her fear of getting caught was irrational, taking a deeper breath before she stood next to you behind Grace as she checked in.
It looked like Grace had already given her details by the time you got close and the same nervous tapping she had been doing on the steering wheel earlier was now playing out right now, her fingers rhythmically tapping on the wooden counter that the clerk was sat behind.
“Looks like you’re all good and ready to go! Here is your room key and if you want an extra copy for either of the two behind you that can be arranged as well. It does come with a small service fee but…” The younger receptionist explained, the voice sounding familiar as you suspected she had answered Emma’s call earlier.
“Thank you but that won’t be necessary” Grace said, cutting off the spiel and sounding more urgent to leave than you expected.
“No worries. Hope you enjoy your stay here” the receptionist replied, not taking the interruption in any negative way from what you could see.
Grace headed back towards the elevator now that she had taken a look at the room number and Emma followed quickly behind given how fast Grace was being. You mouthed a quick apology at the receptionist and she gave you a quick shrug and a smile that seemed to be the first time she had let the customer facing facade slip since you had arrived.
You joined the other two just as the elevator chime sounded off and helped to get all the cases inside before the doors closed behind you all.
“What’s the room number?” you asked, about to hit the button to choose which floor you were heading to.
“402 so I think it’s the 4th floor” Grace responded, double checking the key before she spoke.
After only a little searching you managed to find your room, Grace checking the key worked and taking a step inside before holding the door open for you and Emma to get in with the cases. You and Emma gave each other a quick look when you got inside and saw exactly what you expected, a double bed and a sofa off to one side of the room.
“Oh dammit, it looks like they messed up the room. I’m sure I booked the single beds, I’ll be back in a moment. Don’t unpack anything yet!” Grace said as she left the room.
You poked your head around the door and watched her head off towards the elevator, actually getting on and heading inside.
“I doubt it but do you really think she made a mistake? I know we both weren’t thinking straight after that call but she left too quick for me to be able to tell” you asked Emma, hoping she had a better idea of Grace than you did.
“I’m leaning towards her not knowing. She was acting weird when we were downstairs and her reaction when she got in here did seem to be a bit too fast, but if she booked this days ago then I don’t see a reason why she would have picked the double room other than it being a mistake” Emma questioned, sitting down on the bed.
“Well, if she comes back and we have a different room then I guess that answers that. Otherwise we’ll have to carry on trying to figure her out” you replied, sitting on the bed next to her as you both waited for Grace to come back.
“I bet she did it by mistake” Emma mumbled, sounding slightly saddened for Grace at not deciding on something more erotic.
“What are you willing to bet?” you asked, seeing her smirk and lighten up at your words.
“Are we talking money or…” Emma replied, not needing to finish her sentence.
“I think even if I did say money, you would have been disappointed. So yes, not money. What would you want from me if I lose? And then I’ll tell you what I want when you inevitably do lose” you taunted, seeing Emma’s competitive spirit grow now that you had teased her about it.
She narrowed her eyes and stared daggers at you while she tried to either come up with a suitable punishment for you or a more appealing reward for herself. Maybe a mix of both.
“I want you to get 5 more subjects over the weekend if you lose” Emma said, putting a finger up when she saw you were about to interject.
“It’s the perfect time to do some testing. You aren’t gonna be seeing anyone around here again once we leave and I’m not expecting you to make any long lasting bonds. Just some easy XP and some more valuable information. Plus I get to see you touching other women, if only briefly” Emma explained, her reasoning sounding solid.
Her speech even made you wonder if part of her new kink was now getting people to register or level up with the KDK. Not a bad kink to give someone ‘randomly’ if you were an app wanting to link with as many people as possible but you kept that comment to yourself while you thought of your own wager for the deal.
