Chapter 328 - How do you respond? - Change of plans

“Ah yeah sorry, just noting it down. Yeah that sounds perfect, thanks for letting us check” Emma said, scrambling to respond.
“No worries at all, was that all you needed or was there anything I can help you with?” she responded, the customer service smile somehow sounding audible on the other side of the call.
Emma briefly looked to you but you shook your head, nothing coming to mind in the short time you had. You thought to ask about when the original booking was made to see at what point Grace had selected the room type but that might raise suspicion unnecessarily.
“No that’s everything. Thanks again” Emma stated, her hand now on her forehand with her eyes closed, trying to get through the rest of the call without raising suspicion.
“Okay, thanks for calling the Cavalier Hotel and I hope you enjoy your stay with us”
“You too.” Emma stammered, ending the call and groaning when she realised her mistake.
You wanted to take a jab or two at her for that and she was getting prepared to hear your jokes but you luckily saw Grace heading towards the car.
“Quick, put your phone away just in case” you advised, Emma doing as you said.
She was still too far away from seeing either of you in the low light of the parking lot and with the little time you had left, you avoided the jokes and spoke about what you had just learnt.
“I assume we aren’t going to mention what we just found out to Grace?” you asked Emma, continuing to follow Grace with your eyes.
“No let’s stay quiet. I really wanna know why but we don’t have enough time. Maybe she has some plans of her own or she just did it on a whim but…” Emma replied, stopping herself as Grace got closer.
“Got it” you quickly responded, briefly moving your head out of line of sight behind the seat so Grace couldn’t see your mouth when you spoke before you moved back, most likely overkill but you didn’t want to take any chances.
Grace fished out her keys and opened the door to get back inside, passing the bag of food back to you to store on the back seat while the trunk was full of suitcases.
“You guys were staring at me for a long time, I wasn’t interrupting anything was I?” she asked with a grin.
“No. It’s just that you're perfect for staring at” you teased, getting a light chuckle back from her as she started the car up.
“I think I got everything you two wanted plus my own stuff. Have a check if you want” Grace said, ignoring your comment and getting the car back on the road.
You didn’t feel the need to check but Emma needed to make sure she had what she wanted, making you rummage through the bag as she listed everything she had chosen.
At some point you just passed the bag to Emma for her to check herself while you tried to think of a way to get the conversation back to focusing on Grace.
“So, before when you were talking about college, I don’t know if you’ve ever spoke about your time there before. What course did you end up taking? I know you said you streaked on campus so I assume you moved away from home to be there as well” you asked, partly curious about her perspective on college given that you would hopefully be going there soon and partly because you wanted an excuse to hear more exhibitionist stories.
“No I don’t like to talk much about it with Mary there. Well, she used to be a bit more hesitant to talk about that sort of stuff but with everything you’ve told me and especially after what I saw in that taxi ride last night, maybe I should try again… Anyway yeah I went to college. Even did the whole sorority thing which was why we did the streaking in the first place actually. Sort of a test to show we had what it took to get in…” Grace replied, sounding like she was going to say more but getting lost in thought before she caught herself.
“Sorry I keep getting distracted. Errr… yeah I studied business while I was there. Nothing too wild or crazy compared to everything else but I don’t think I would have been able to set the gym up properly without it so I’d say it was definitely worth it in the end” Grace continued, getting more information out of her than you had ever before, especially since you got the KDK.
You did know some of the other side of the story when I came to her ex-husband. From the timeline of what you knew, she either got married during her final year or shortly after, taking up the role as a stay at home Wife until shortly before the divorce proceedings.
Talking about that though was not something you planned to do if you wanted to keep her in a happy mood and while you were sure some of her memories of her time there would remind her of that, you did your best to stay clear if you could help it.
“ So what stuff was ‘wild or crazy’ in comparison? You said you only did the streaking thing once but something tells me that wasn’t the only thing you did” you teased, hoping she would reveal more to you and Emma.
“Sorry, I don’t know if I’m ready to tell those stories yet. I usually only tell those when I’ve had at least a few cocktails” Grace joked back, not giving in just yet.
“Oh come on, you can’t leave us hanging like that” Emma added, wanting to know just as much as you did.
“Well I don’t know. Maybe later but for now… you two need to get the bags out of the trunk” Grace said, delaying her sentence just as the hotel came into sight.
You wanted more time where Grace was forced to answer while she was driving but for now that seemed to have come to an end, Emma groaning when she couldn’t hear any more college stories. You did wonder what stories she wasn’t willing to tell even after she had told you about the streaking but you hoped to be able to get her to reveal them at some point or another.
The silver lining however what that you would now be able to see what Grace was planning when you knew about the room booking, something you would have never found out if you hadn’t tried changing it yourself. You had no idea why she had chosen the single bed but your head was too full of horny ideas to ever think of a rational reason.
Grace pulled up into the parking lot and just as she had said, you and Emma got out to get the bags, slinging your bag over your shoulder while you grabbed the suitcase full of Grace’s stuff. You let Emma take the other, along with the snacks she was still holding onto and set off towards the lobby following behind Grace.
