yanno, honestly, both kayla and the emperor should be pleased that she almost cried when the emperor said he regretted not killing her. He's surrounded by sycophants all day every day, never knowing who is genuine... but that shows that his nephew at least truely cares about him and their relationship. honestly I don't know why the emperor is hell bent on being cruel to people who want to love him. none of this would be a problem if he was more consistent and less fickle
