Reminds me of the Lake Peigneur disaster. In that case they were drilling for oil at the bottom of the lake, and a miscalculation resulted in them piercing the ceiling of a salt mine. As I recall there’s even video of the water forming a whirlpool as it drains into the mine.
The Legacy Scale might be better for this one as there are a lot of Mining incidents that had to rewrite the rulebook on this one.
