I reckon a 3D printed version is possible, and could potentially remove the need for the aluminium frame. It could also be possible to design specific mounting positions for the electronics and allow others to replicate easily. Maybe I'll invest some time into designing one in the future! The position of the FC isn't an issue as it's only detecting rotational accelerations/velocities, and as the whole air frame rotates at the same rate, it shouldn't make a differencet. Thanks!

I get to work with the real ones everyday, so looking forward to seeing this. Wondering if a 3dlabprint type design and larger rotors to carry the extra weight is even feasible. I’m hoping the FC can be turned enough to make it really stable. Should the FC be positioned at the pivot point of the Servo? Thanks for what you share Tom
