#11 - Bloodborne Update
🕑 Added 2016-04-13 18:46:30 +0000 UTC I finished writing the Bloodborne scripts a few minutes ago and I want to let you all know how they're going. The project has turned into a monster. The rough estimate of time that I usually go by is 2,000 words in the script = 10 minutes of video. The three videos have ended up like this then:1) Series Strengths and Sequel Changes = 6,500 words = 30~ minutes.
2) Level Design and Boss Battles = 18,000 words = 90~ minutes.
3) Chalice Dungeons and DLC = 6,000 words = 30~ minutes.
My original plan was 30 minutes each. But I started writing the second script and basically did to Bloodborne what I did to Dark Souls One: a run-through of the game speaking about some things and describing some levels. Just because it's so long doesn't necessarily mean it's interesting though. It's more observational commentary than hard analysis--again, much like the Dark Souls One Series.
I was worried that Dark Souls 3 would slow me down but I've actually barely touched it.
What does this mean? Well, I have to record all of the audio and then clean it up. That usually takes about 4 times as long as the final audio duration. I've gotten pretty fast at putting together the video part and I have all the footage recorded already. There's always a few things here and there I have to play the game again for but that never takes more than a couple of minutes.
I still want to release them closer together, so I think I want to finish the first and second videos. Then I'll publish them with a 2 to 3 day gap. Then I'll be able to get the third video done in that time. I don't like releasing videos on the weekend so probably a Tuesday->Thursday->Monday split would be best. But I don't know if that'll be Tuesday next week or if it'll be Thursday->Monday->Wednesday instead. I don't know. You guys are probably cool with it either way, but I really want to maintain multiple monthly releases so I thought you should know why there's a delay.
