Friends-Only Post No. 20: Last Night
🕑 Added 2016-10-11 06:18:25 +0000 UTC WOW!"What has happened lately, J. and Clsn?" you yowl, happily -- and, more happily, your weeping and making sad (but happy) sounds, have been heard by your hosts here at The Only Podcast That Cares! We, your hosts, stand before you, thrillingly able to update you on such engaging engagements -- and, more happily, we stand before you willing to update you on such engaging engagements!
Yes.
So. What has happened of late? Well, J. and Clsn had the pleasure and honor of performing at the Elbo Room, up on stage, as is our wont, reading bad shit, which we were flat-out born to do. Attached is a picture of J.!
Above is a Clsn's-eye view of what it looked like from the stage.
No, Clsn is NOT a good taker of photos, particularly when he was nervous as a handsome man in front of a largish crowd (somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 people) who had seen some exceedingly good readings immediately preceding. Except, look: from where Clsn was standing, not even one audience member's face was remotely visible. In fact, nothing but bright, bright, bright lights was visible -- that, and a harsh, unyielding microphone on a stand, looming, imposing, and requiring my full attention. It was intimidating as all hell. But the people in attendance were very kind, and I believe most everybody had a good time.
Special shout-out to the friends of the show Julia and Will who came out, shadow producer Casey who made the scene and helped fuel Clsn's ability to power through his low-level anxiety-powered freakout with the magic of thoughtful Tecate, and several other Secret Guests whose names I shouldn't mention in this space.
Special, special thanks to Litquake's Managing Director Jamie Real for putting the event together, to Lauren Parker for being a great MC and member of the Executive Committee, and Darothy Durkac (also on the Executive Committee) for coming out and helping us party down.
It could scarcely have been more fun, and we thank everybody and most definitely encourage you to make sure you come to Our Next Event!

OUT NOW
Hey, cool! Patreon did something neat for friends of the show! Here's how it goes: do you like good shows? We make supporters extra shows, and they are good, all of which you likely know, but I point this out with reasons.
Those extra good shows have been difficult to hear -- but it should be easier now! There are a couple ways for you to hear the shows:
- If you use a podcatcher of whatever sort, there is a new secret RSS feed for you to enter into that podcatcher in the usual way -- find that RSS feed at our Patreon page! (top right)
- If you prefer the Patreon site, you can go there and log in and listen there on the site!
- If you prefer the Patreon app ... you're on your own, sorry, because I haven't QA'd that yet
