Friends-Only Post No. 8: Contemplations on the Tree of Woe
🕑 Added 2016-07-22 07:27:41 +0000 UTC WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK ETC.We have been busy, friends. We recorded two separate episodes in a week, scheduled a rip-shit live show, picked our next couple books, lined up a passel of superb guests -- we are pumped as all get-out, and we think you're really going to enjoy what we're getting ready for you.
But dang, I am tired. Gonna take a couple days off, go off into the woods and try to forget I own a phone, you know? Probably a good idea for all of us now and again. (Also I just read the new Harper's, and it's good. I recommend it as a quiet break from the crapalanche of bad media that's frequently fun, but that we don't always exactly have to seek out, you know? Feed your soul, with camping, or dog pictures, or giving blood, or whatever.)
WHAT'S COMING DOWN PIKEWISE
In a couple days, you'll hear the next episode. Gird your loins and limber up your ears, because this one is going to sear you. Sex. Violence. A little more sex. A lot more violence. We haven't bathed deeply in the gathering gloom of anything like this before, and, if you will allow us, I'd like to give you just the teeniest sneak peak into what's just days away from your life.

This book was NUTS.
Scruples plus Night of the Crabs and I am in no dang way kidding. If you like bad books, wow. A CB radio blast straight from 1969.
A few days after that, you -- and nobody else -- will receive the rich taste of our next donor-only episode, and, if I may, WOW. Lots more details coming about this one next week, but I do think it's safe and prudent to say that this is our most conflicted, contentious episode yet. If you ever wanted to think about what it would be like for one of your happy, hairy hosts to be all like "oh man, this is So Good!" and for the other one to go "uh, no it isn't", then make sure your dues don't lapse, because your dreams of fight are about to come hecka true.
CONTESTS
So! This is terrific and exciting, and we! Have! A! Tie! The people have spoken and they are shredded, pulled in opposite directions, desperate to hear their friends (us, natch) dig deep and riff harsh on BOTH a
- SPECIFIC BOOK and a
- WEIRD GENRE
So! We now will let this go one more week -- so get them votes in (email, twitter, obscene doodle scrawled on a paper airplane, whatevs) and we'll get your desires into our pipeline. And, yes: since you are equally interested, thus far, we're definitely going to bring All of the Above to you, just as quick as we can. But we're gonna prioritize what you want right now, because we are, as you know, The Only Podcast That Cares.
UNTIL NEXT TIME

Wait, what are we voting for--general ideas or two SPECIFIC things? Because I cast my vote for Wine Mom books.
