[EARLY RELEASE] Yugoslavia: Socialist Construction in the Balkans
🕑 Added 2022-06-15 23:25:01 +0000 UTCIn this episode, Aleksandra Kolaković joins Breht to discuss the history of socialist construction in the former Yugoslavia. We discuss the formation of Yugoslavia, the communist partisans and their fight against fascism during ww2, the rise, rule, and legacy of Josep Broz Tito, "Market Socialism", the Tito-Stalin split and beef, and much more!
This is a controversial chapter of socialist history, but also a fascinating and essential one! Enjoy!

Great episode! Would be wonderful if Aleksandra could return some day to talk about the post-Tito period. At the end, she mentioned a couple of films, and I thought I'd leave links to descriptions below. Haven't watched them yet myself, intend to ASAP. Tito and I: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0105602/ When Father Was Away on Business: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0089748/
