He deserves negative credit for his chip - that team was by far the most talented that year and they played down to their opponents.

I never said Jimmy B was a lateral move from Wigs. Some dimensions Jimmy B is an improvement. Others he is a step back. It is waaayyyyyyy too early to be serving up crow to people who doubted the move. If crow truly gets on the menu for the doubters, I'll be happy to take a full plate--and I'm a vegetarian. But before they bring the dish, we need to be sure we know who should be eating it. So, here are the concerns of at least some of us doubters: 1)Jimmy is injury prone, especially compared to Wigs. Will Jimmy stay healthy as the opposing defense gets stronger and more determined? I have my doubts. Wigs has shown he can stay healthy in an intense playoff run. Jimmy B has yet to prove it. 2)With Wigs gone, who's the PoA defender when you need stops in the playoffs? GPII, another injury prone player, and a much smaller one at that? This opens a gaping hole, and at this point it seems impossible to close it this season. 3)How jammed up will the paint be when JK, Loon, and Jimmy B all want to play down there? Wigs was the team's #2 3-point shooter, and he led the league in 4-point play opportunities. His departure creates spacing challenges, Post notwithstanding. 4)Locker room. Jimmy B is ALWAYS a good fit in the locker room--until he isn't. The switch can come lightningly fast. All y'all thinking he'll pull Dray (or whomever) aside must have forgotten all the very public Jimmy B feuds, in Chicago, in Minnesota, and now in Miami. You might excuse the first two because the organizations were and are Mickey Mouse, but Miami is a class organization and they make good decisions. This suggests the Dubs making good decisions will be NO PROTECTION WHATSOEVER when (not if, when) Jimmy B decides he's unhappy. No other organization has bounced back to win a title after Jimmy B's scorched earth response. I see no reason to think the Dubs will break that string. . . . SO, I hope I am wrong. But I don't think anyone doubted Jimmy B could play. But just 'cause someone can play does not make them a good positional, strategy, or locker room fit. So, we'll see. As I said (3rd time now), I hope I am wrong. But if they wanted Jimmy B, they should've kept Wigs and dealt Dray. That would at least have been a more straight up trade, almost role for role, and it would have had the advantage of getting off the disastrous "Dray hunts Steph every possession all game" offense. But it looks like Kerr vetoed that possibility and preferred to say good-bye to Wigs. So here we are.

I know the Jimmy Butler trade had some mixed reviews but I originally thought Jimmy was a 2 (idk why), but this is looking real good. I know Steph is one of the guys in the league everyone wants to play with because his play style is like the O negative equivalent of NBA players, but him and Butler look really good on the court together in terms of how they play and complementary styles

I really like that Jimmy went up to Draymond after the tech. Just tapped him on the chest. Who else has the gravitas to just be able to defuse things? Be a leader in a genuine way. I wonder if they'll consider moving Draymond this offseason or next given that Jimmy is a better version of him. You need the spacing of QP but he can't stay on the court in high-leverage games. And then it'll get too gummed up with Dray, Jim and JK. I wonder...

JK deserves to be at least the 6th man again once back but something tells me Steve will revert to his previous stance of treating JK like trash. We'll see, but if that's the case, I really hope they just trade JK during the summer so he can finally get his shot.

The Bully Buddies (Jimmy, Moody and Dray) will make Steph and Post lives even easier. Doc being ranked 15th makes sense if they're automatically putting Championship coaches ahead of non-chip coaches. There have been 37 coaches to win a Championship and most of them are in the pre-modern era and I think it's fair to say Doc would coach circles around guys who coached teams that were barely allowed to dribble. Remove the championship qualifier though theres no way he's top 15.

Dawg I'm so glad we have a 7 footer that's playable. We haven't had that in forever. QP still has a lot to work on, but he looks promising. The Butler trade has helped in so many ways. Steph looks great again, Podz, Moody, etc. are all hooping. It's early so let's not overreact, but I'm loving this so far. I still think this team needs another trade or two to get back to true contention, but finally we've got some worthy basketball to watch from the dubs again.

Kinda crazy, but it feels like Jimmy Butler is the offensive version of Draymond in a lot of ways. I know offense gets more attention in this game, but offensively he's such a relentless high IQ player that just outthinks and outworks the opposition without being super athletic. Draymond is that exactly, but in a defensive sense. If it continues to look this way, Jimmy may prove to be the perfect late-career bridge between the glaring differences in strengths that Steph and Draymond have always had.

Had my concerns about the Butler acquisition (mainly the health concerns and his personality) and they were playing the Bulls and Giannis-less Bucks, but so far so good. I don't know how, but there's just a clear energy and confidence boost that the Dubs haven't had since the 12-3 start and I'm here for it. Also, the Postman has arrived.

This is a perfect spot in the schedule for Jimmy to have came. We get injured mavs and then a Houston team who's # we always have and then they get a week off....on top of that it's great that Jimmy has this long road trip as his first games because it builds chemistry faster to be stuck on the road together
