18 vs 13 always wins. That FTs. They Free. In game GSW should have blown out LA we find a way to trail most of the game with AD out. Absolutely amazing!

Alc Podski is great, JK just need to pass the ball to Steph. (Kerr) JK went, PTS: 26 Rbs: 6 Assts: 3 FG% 56% 3P% 50% Minutes: 30 Steals: 1 Blocks: 1 Don't seem like just pass the ball stats to me. Kerr is a problem. Go secure Jonas Valančiūnas for Moody or Slo Mo and if there is no real push then consider Wiggens in a long term deal.
Frank Ravizza
Consistency in playing effective team basketball. Steady roles and responsibilities for defensive rotations, weakness and tendencies. Establishing scoring pecking order. Right now everything is disjointed. It’s not working.
John Pettus
In fairness to him and all of us... Steph kinda ALWAYS sucks ass in December. And never more than on Christmas Day games. Dude just wants to open presents with his kids. He doesn't want to play basketball right now. I'm gonna watch the game today. But he's gonna suck, and we're probably gonna lose. We just need to build something really positive starting in JAN.
John Pettus
Or was he brought in to take some of the ball-handling duties off of Steph to help him rest?
John Pettus
Disagree. We had a BUNCH of dumbasses shooting long 2s in the last couple of games and that is a recipe for losing. Steph, Wiggs (who is a perennial), and JK were all doing it. As Mike said, "STOP IT. Get some help." Don't play stupid. Don't shoot long 2s with time still on the clock.
John Pettus
Why? What does sticking with one lineup do to help us win? Why not by dynamic and put in better matchups depending on the opponent?
John Pettus
I have noticed a BUNCH of times this year when everybody is just STANDING AROUND as if we don't run a motion offense. I can't tell you how many times I've screamed at the TV "RUN THE OFFENSE!!"
John Pettus
I think it's a weak mindset. I think he is so in his head and up his own ass about the refs that you can visibly see him go the rim intending to get fouled INSTEAD of finishing strong through contact.
John Pettus
It's CRAZY to think that the problem here is Steve Kerr. You could put the roster construction on Dunleavy. You could put it on the players for not executing. But Kerr is still the king of ATOs. And he's working with Steph to find rotations that work for him. And don't just say "rotations!!" and leave it at that. If you know specific rotations that would be better than what we've done (other than "play Steph more"), tell us.
John Pettus
I sound like a broken record, but I think JK is just a dumb basketball player, man. He makes terrible decisions almost all the time. He causes a disaster almost every time when he's in at the end of games. Certainly more often than he wins it for us, like in that early overtime game. His physical abilities make him good, but only good. He's not GREAT. And he's not getting better. I really want JK to succeed. But all I see is selfishness, whining to the refs, and then blowing it when he gets a chance. He's the worst parts of Aiyuk and Deebo, combined.
Leonel Erolon
you dont get it. Time is the issue. Steph will barely make it to All start this year

On paper JK is the better defender. I hear you, his ceiling is naturally way higher. But it’s way too inconsistent rn
Diego
Yeah I agree I guess on paper not the right word, team defense, scouting reports and fundamentals Podz is better, but imo Kuminga has shown he can completely lock down star level players on possessions and that’s not something Podz can do imo. I’ve seen Podz get blown by simply because he is not fast enough not because of anyother reason.
Athletic Alchemy
I’m not talking paper. I’m talking play to play, rotations, angles KYP
Diego
Podz defense on paper is better than Kuminga, I think he makes up for it on sheer athleticism/physicality and the fact the podz isnt big or fast enough to bother players at times.

TBH how many of us will continue watching GSW after SC30 retires? I came to bay 2012 and he`s the only reason I am still following this team. You can call me bandwagon fan but I`ve been first following IMJ32. Once he retired I didn`t watch bball until SC30. Although I am from Serbia I can`t stand Luka or Nikola. Boring style of play...
Gsw4L
I`ve seen it with Big Four of Tennis. After the age of 36 they all started to decline rapidly. First to go down was Murray with hip replacement, then Federer after two surgeries on both knees, following Nadal who was on crutches before AO because of chronic toe issues, finally last guy standing was Djokovic who almost won everything 2023 but year after was demolished by two young superstars and could not win any major after that. There was a year of Federer`s brilliance at the age of 37 but that was it. It is anomaly for any professional player to be at the top of his game after spending 20+ years on the tour....

it seems even the great ones, have their skelletons in his closet... i hope he recovers soon, the nba is not the same, when Steph is not shinning!

Alch - you were so right in the previous 2 breakdowns: Steph cannot do his clutch thing reliably anymore. The turning point for me was that NBA Cup QF in Houston. The 3 Steph missed in the last minute - I don’t feel like I’ve ever seen him miss one of those daggers. That’s like, his core identity - the guy who closes it out. It’s gone. His gifts are just a bonus now. Relying on them, “building around” him is beyond foolish.
Dr. Sanjin
Why is it one or the other? Why can't he lock in without chucking?? Help me understand why those two things are dependent on each other.

Who wants Draymond? I agree with this, but (1) who wants him? (2) Would Kerr or Steph agree to it? I feel like the answers are "nobody" and "no". I think Alch was right unfortunately, this is the ship and we're going down with it. I'd be very surprised if Dray were traded.

Merry Christmas al Overall, I would say the game is very encouraging aside from Steph and Dray. Biggest problem yesterday that I saw is starting the offense with a split post action without Curry or Hield on the floor. The idea for that to create advantage is that defense have to choose between the cut and a shooter. We don't have that when neither are on the floor. I would argue we don't have that even if we have Hield and not Steph. With Schroder, Wiggins, TJD, Kuminga and Podz on the floor, an offense start with a PnR would probably be best suited for skillset of everyone involved. With how much Steph has been face guarded, it is probably better for him to start the offense with a pick and roll too. Regarding your Podz point on defense, he is very good on defense for his size and position but there is a limit to how good you can be at that size. Therfore when he struggles offensively, his defense is not that valuable and his minutes should have been cut but it wasn't. Part of the fanbase frustration is completely justified.
deb m.
It’s so cruel. Kyle was very excited to come here and “be a part of this.” And then he’s sitting on the f-ing bench during his PRIME. What lie did they tell him about the minutes he’d get this season? I am so f-ing disgusted. Don’t bring talented people here just to fuck with them, Steve/Mike/Joe! And then force us to watch, like some sick kink. I’m SO over it…
Athletic Alchemy
Merry Christmas! I don’t think they are weak. I think he squeezes the ball when he tenses his body to explode. But either way it’s a problem. Jujitsu taught me the importance of learning to tense only part of your body. Otherwise you gas out too quick.

Merry Christmas Alch to you and your fam!!!! Hope the dubs wrapped up a victory for us tomorrow.👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
Russ
Merry Christmas Alch! Hope you have fun wth your girls. I think what will always be JK's downfall is he has weak hands. Whenever he drives notice the ball always goes flying, most of the time he's getting nudged or sometimes legit hacked but other times he's untouched, all of the time the ball comes out of his hands. The ref's know it now, so when he lets the ball fly and screams they don't care. They know that's just what happens when he brings the ball through, his hands aren't strong enough. I've said it before about Wiseman, if you have weak/bad hands it just will always be an uphill climb in the league. U see it when JK tries to get rebounds too, the ball just won't stay in his hands. I'm not saying JK is weak, hell no that's why he's still useful, but with those hands his ceiling is much lower.

100%. If we could get Myles Turner all our problems would be over immediately. Vucevic isn't that, but he's the closest thing we're likely to get. If they don't grab him with two hands, it's a wrap. The more I think about it, the more I'm sure of it.
Mike Peterson
Dray is 100% the problem (unless you count Kerr's loyalty to him as half the problem). The Steph/Dray PnR just doesn't work because Dray is not going to drive or shoot and everybody knows that. He'll just stand there, like an inbounder, in what I guess you have to call "single threat position." Then he'll either try to force a pass or reset to Steph. Did anyone else notice that against the Wolves Steph looked 10 years younger and 240lbs lighter?
Ballin Forever
With DS.. Kuminga.. Wiggins.. Dray and a declining Steph. We def need a stretch big . If Vucevic is available.. we have to go get him..
Joshua Fayemi
Also, excuse my rant. It’s Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and the fam, Chief! It’s just basketball at the end of the day ha-ha. All love and we’ll keep rocking with your content because you’re the best to do it! 🙏

Anyone with unbiased eyes can see that the warriors as a team are just not doing nearly enough to get Steph open. He’s being face guarded 94ft. If the team isn’t punishing the opps for doubling Steph, then they have to find ways to get Steph open. Thinking this team can be competitive without Steph being at his best is beyond delusional (which we all know you’re not, Alc). This stuff isn’t rocket science. Everyone wants to believe Steph isn’t that guy anymore, well f the fans then. Trade him to a sensible team and watch him light up the league for another 2 seasons before he decides to call it quits, because clearly the warriors as an organisation and as it appears warriors online fanbase isn’t rocking with their guy anymore.
Frank Ravizza
Can we just stick with one lineup? Start: TJD, Dray, Kuminga, Wiggs, Steph. Bench: Dennis, Buddy, Slomo, Loon, Podz. Backup: Moody, GP2, Waters.
Dial T for Tech
I will attest, a newborn kid will take a lot of care, sleepless nights, time and effort, and I can picture Steph being a hands on dad!! 💯
Eddie757
JK likely feels like 2016 Dray: "I am not a robot! I know I can play! You have me messed up right now! If you don't want me to shoot, I won't shoot the rest of the game!" Remember that heated altercation when the police were called? There are a lot of mixed messages that are messing with the kid's head. Compare Kerr's comments to Steph's. Very different. Steph wants the guys to be decisive and acknowledges bad shots happen, but mistakes are okay if they are caused by being aggressive. I think the difference is Steph and JK are players who are asked to create offense, which is not what Steve was in his career. He had a very narrow and defined role. The way Steph looked in 2 of the last 3 games, Kerr better accept that he needs JK to continue to be aggressive. His public comments were not helpful.

oh i missed that. they said Dray had a bad ankle but it might have just been a cover up to what happened lol
ACowNamedStan
it feels like having dennis starting with steph is completely counter productive in the reason we brought him here in the first place. he was supposed to run the 2nd unit where he could run his type of offense.
Cam Neilson
Could one of the potential reasons for Steph not looking like his usual self be that he's had a long summer with the Olympics and has a newborn around the house to look after?
BruceWayne
We have most of our turnovers from hunting Steph or Steph trying cute passes. Starting Draymond and Steph together is a recipe for a high turnover 1st. We hit a 30.8% TO rate in the first. It’s insane.
Jerry Heverly
We beat Minn because Ant couldn't hit the broad side of a barn; we lost to IND because Steph was equally inept. Everything else was window dressing. The crying need is for a strategy for an offense that doesn't depend on Steph.
Alasdair Macdonald
Steph looks cooked relatively speaking, he is unquestionably now not the player he used to be. Nothing would make me happier than Lacob having the balls to greenlight the rebuild and trade almost everyone for as many assets as possible. I don't believe Steph is capable of or willing to take the step back that he needs to. The system has to change, The Olympics and the occasional outburst really fools so many people into continuing to think that nothing has changed. Things could be much easier for him if they changed the focus of the offense and Steph took half the number of shots he does.
HongKongBlack
“Like travis hunters girl” 😂
BruceWayne
We had enough offense last night to win, but they hunted Steph at the end of each half instead. It was infuriating to watch.
BruceWayne
Kyle is a Draymond replacement. Why would you play a replacement when you can play an injured Draymond instead?
weng
merry Christmas alc, good points I don’t mind this type L as Long as the young guys play that well every game bc it will force kerr to play the young guys and less curry and greens. I do believe curry and green with major trade will not get us other ring. So, they need the young players to develop and grow.
Billy Roberson
Idk man, I’ll live with Steph chucking shots and not hitting than him just being passive all game, at least this feels like he’s engaged in the game
Natto Santo
We are old, Draymond’s body will not hold up, Chef is weakening. The right thing to do is to trade Draymond now. Trade him to OKC or Orlando or New York or even LAL, I don’t care as long as we get a serviceable young scorer and a 1st round pick
Eric Song
have no idea why we are starting schroeder w steph. the team needs to get a true sg next to steph, utilize steph onball, and play slomo more. steve kerr keeps rolling out these outdated three guard lineups that provide nothing offensively and get crushed defensively. if we’re gonna keep kerr, id say trade for someone like cam johnson as otto porter like addition or try to find a stretch big. otherwise, id say kerr should step down for a coach who is willing to empower the young players and adapt to the league.

adapt or die... A thing, as a Warriors fan, i find frustrating (about both the coaching and management) is that it doesnt seem to adapt its style to is present roster. Kerr is lauded as a great coach, but it seems under his leadership, we have a team that will continue to jack up threes, no matter what point in the game we are at. This roster cant shoot threes like we use to at our Klay and Step heyday. Yet we continue to depend on this. We are not élite anymore using this style. Yet we continue to abuse it. Kerr has one style. He does not adapt to his roster. They MUST adapt to him. Which seems more likely, a young player, playing his whole life a style which got him to this professional point, making a drastic style change, or a wizened old coach fitting those players together, using their talents to make a monster ? But Kerr doesn't focus on what needs to change in HIS style. He expects his players to do a thing he wont do, change, ( ie see Kuminga etc),. What is the maxim, adapt or die...
Sarcasm 360
Kerr has many more things making this team mediocre than the young guys shot selection. (it might actually be Buddy) Kuminga looked off Buddy once but he did it because he had a guard on him, only reason he thought about it is because Kerr doesn’t empower him, he made the right call easy two points. This kinda game is exactly why Kerr’s comments don’t hold water, my god Curry was bad and the offense can’t be generating Dray 3s or starting off turning the ball over like that. It’s ironic to hear, “the young guys shooting makes us a lousy team so get Steph the ball,” but then they again have trouble getting Steph the ball with ZERO young guys in the game in the 1st and when they did he was kinda bad. Funny as that irony is, is it the young guys or the system? How about start with the ball in his hands so you don’t have to overcomplicate getting him the ball? I did like the young guys response though.
Ruben Valce
Also this is what happens when you center your entire ecosystem around an aging star. Kerr gotta do a better job of at least seeing what JK can give us nightly man
yan't get right
Yo Alc! Not to gossip but did you peep the friction between Draymond and Kerr at the beginning to the 3rd? He pulled draymond around 10 min left and put kuminga in. And you could see it was because of something Dray said to Kerr while in the corner. Loon tried to calm him down by tapping his leg and that’s when Draymond left to go to the locker room and Loon started cracking up to SloMo. As much as I personally can’t stand the dynamic of the vets, watching Kerr try to manage all this has been PURE entertainment.
Mitch Coob
What do you think the reason is for not playing Kyle more?
Chris Thomas
Yeah Unc I feel like yesterdays game is a reflection of what we have been saying for years now! Kerr has to empower the younger players more and Steph needs to be more of a decoy then trying to get him a shot on every possession. The end of the 2nd quarter was infuriating bc if they are throwing 2-3 ppl on Steph the whole game that means there are ppl open not getting any looks bc we are force feeding Steph 🤦🏽♂️ it’s just bad basketball
Shantel
Not the battle of the fogeys 🤣
Dr. Sanjin
Steph with the dumbest triple step back three with like 40 seconds left in the 4th. I get hes the best shooter ever but that deflated me.
Sarcasm 360
I told Jim Park that it won’t matter who you bring in or kick off as long a Draymond here. Imma stand on it, it’s Dray. Steph as the guy having the ball forced to him through motion offense is different than the Steph that just initiates from the game before. The reason we go small is because Dray with a big means turnovers like the 1st quarter, so no Trayce in the 4th instead it’s 3 guards so Kerr’s system works and he can force it to them freezing out Wiggins. However I said earlier this team has 500 problems and they should pick one, keep it, and then remove the others and we’ll get our answer regardless.
Jordan Reitzes
Myles Turner would be perfect on the warriors smh shame it'll probably never happen
Pelvis
My thought on this game, Turner is massively under utilized, Kuminga was the best warrior both sides of the court, and is Stephs confidence cooked???
Ruben Valce
I just wanted to be first to comment lol
