Their highest lead in the 3rd was like 6 and Curry checked out up 3 and that’s how the quarter ended. I don’t see where the bed shitting was, where I did see bed shitting was being up 8-10 at about 7 minutes 4th quarter when Heild went to the bench for Podz, and then going cold for 5 years, taking out Trayce at 4 minutes for GP2 despite his effectiveness, doesn’t work, late turnovers, still doesn’t go back to TJD, Moody instead at 2 minutes, still doesn’t work, more turnovers, still up 6-8 though, then with one minute it’s just turnovers and missed FTs blowing the whole lead down to 2. Three people in that 3rd quarter unit were Podz, GP, and Moody and they were also in the closing unit though so either way we are talking about the same people.

Based on Kerr's comments after the game, the team had a long travel day prior to arriving in NO so there must've been an issue with their plane. I agree with resting Steph tonight in SA. With Wemby a game time decision after missing the last 3 games, we need to give the young guys some more playing time to keep them motivated. With Wiggins playing so well, it's going to be hard to for Steve to find minutes for JK. Seems like the missed FTs are making him less tentative to drive because the scouting report is now out for teams to just foul him on the drive and make him earn it at the line. He's taken some bad shots in the past two games.

You’re asking for more detail, but you yourself are using the wrong language. There is technically no “Hard Cap” in the CBA. As I understand it, there is the luxury tax up to the “first apron”—that is what we are close to. You can go above it but lose flexibility with your team. There’s a second line of total salary called the “second apron” after which you basically can’t trade for guys or use the taxpayer mid level exception. NOBODY is willing to do that (your team would have to be un-improvable and never get injured). So the 2nd apron is effectively a “hard cap,” but not technically.

And Kerr’s inability to actually run actions for him will not highlight his strengths while his shaky jumper is blaring. Noteworthy he is the highest profile player his agent represents. I wanted to relate a story I heard about Andrew Wiggins that could bring some more light to his play and lack of public clarity over the last few years. I am also bringing this up in this forum in some sense, as a public apology to Wiggins. I was out having dinner last night and got to talking to a fellow about Wiggins. He was saying that Wiggins needed to give bone marrow transplants to his ailing father. He also mentioned that Wiggins has certain religious beliefs and part of Wiggins interpretation of those beliefs is that giving bone marrow transplants from himself to his ailing father could be seen as improper interpretation of those teachings. This would explain Wiggins absence from the team for extended periods, his mute attitude about what was going on with his family, his more than normal sick time and most of all his weak play when he was in the game. I understand that all this is hearsay and conjuncture, but that's not my point. I publicly have been harsh on Wiggins on this forum in the past, and couldn't conceive why he was so opaque about his situation. I've had members of my family dying or in very tough situations and I still worked with my clients and "sucked" it up. Once again I have realized that there are things and situations in this life that are out of the realm of my imagination and that because I don't conceive of those possibilities, I expect others to act a certain way, my way. And in this case I expected Wiggins to play harder, get over whatever his family stuff was, and be more transparent about his life. I commoditized him and failed to appreciate that maybe this was and is a sensitive caring human who is and was doing his best in a very very tough situation. Sorry Wiggs ... : (

Alch, please help the fanbase understand the reality of trades for this Hard Capped Team. Too many folks out there keep forgetting that we need to match salary in trades AND that we are required to have 14 guys on the roster. Typically, teams would combine multiple small contracts to trade for a larger one, and THEN sign extra guys to min contract deals (or convert 2ways) to get to 14. But this team cannot do that because it's Hard Capped. With less than 1 mil below the cap, we cannot add another player to this roster until late in the season, when the pro-rated salary would be less than 1 mil. So all these "Consolidation" trades that folks think we should make, cannot work.

Why everybody here so negative? My biggest positive from last night is Kerr late game management. He gave TJD 4th quarter minutes because Pelicans don't have a center that can match his athleticism. During the Buddy Hield ft made that you don't show here alch, Kerr put dray as inbounder and have Wiggins (9/9) from the line, Curry, Hield and Moody: our best ft shooters out there. Then as soon as a made ft, GP2 was subbed in immediately. Now I was annoyed that Wiggins and GP2 doesn't just straight up switch that 3 from murphy (even if ingram score, it's probably a 2) but personnel wise, that's still who we want on the floor

I think we should chill on JK. NBA is about opportunity. He's been more than patient with the Dubs these last 4 years and he's clearly one of the only people in his draft class who is willing to bet on himself without much opportunity. That's an old mold mentality: He thinks (knows) he's a star, even though he really doesn't have enough reps to prove it. That's something, man. ESPECIALLY when Steph be dogging it like this! No other 2021 draft pick has had to maintain their I'm-a-star-belief inside an organization with so much turmoil and legacy red tape. Tbh, the warriors have been development hell and JK is still on track to be really good. Franz Wagner is finally looking like a star, but that's a completely different situation. So is Trey Murphy. Most guys would've either left, threw a tantrum (Poole) or turned into a Moody situation. I think he deserves credit (or at least, zero comparisons to other 2021 guys) for continuing to challenge the "dynasty" to see his value.
