Re Klay, I don’t think enough was made of the fact that he went to the reigning WCF champs. At the time of the move, Klay was going to be playing “relevant basketball” and the Warriors were a play-in team at best. I imagine it felt less like KD’s move to Brooklyn and more like how Westbrook felt when KD joined the Warriors.

We lose some of that downhill weapon JK brings but he still feels to raw to be ready in time to help Steph win another ring, or at least contend for one. Plus there's the contract situation, and he in no way looks like a max player right now.

A thought about Pods recent struggles - remember he had that bad summer league last year. Took him a minute to be comfortable in the league but by Jan he was shining. He's got a lot more responsibilities this year; I'm hoping it's just another learning phase/growing pains. Either way, I don't get hating on value contract guys. Even with his struggles, he's still outperforming his pay grade. Most of our roster is.

Happy birthday Alch! Great takes as usual. That Cam Johnson trade is a toughie; I'm a big believer in JK but Cam would be an improvement for us right now, no question. Would love to have Bam. That's the one star it would be worth pushing in all the chips for. Most big names come with big baggage - injury prone, have to be #1, bad habits, heliocentric, and so on. Bam has no downside (other than salary) and he's perfect for the dub's system. Dray would probably lose his mind. But his salary might be needed for the swap, so... would you do that?

I think people hate on Podz because he's like the "teacher's pet" -- it's obvious Kerr loves him, and I think some people like to doubt Kerr's motives so they suspect Kerr plays favorites with Podz because he's a scrappy white guard like Kerr was. They don't just give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he's just an experienced coach who knows talent when he sees it.

the way I see it Jokic is in a different category than the Luka, Murray, Zion types because yes he has extra weight on him but he is in incredible shape cardio wise and the weight helps him push guys off spots and post up. He never gases out and plays hard the whole game and doesn't get injured.
