When it comes to AD, is it a competitive stamina issue? Or is it simply him fatiguing from having to score and basically anchor that entire Lakers defense by himself, leaving him with very little juice for the 2nd half of games.

At full strength they are tough, but its tough to stay at full strength each year with long playoff runs as we know. Watson hangs his hat on Defense you can tell he likes it and priorities it... I don't see JK every having that mindset, we'd already seen it.

Feels like the best and most sustainable offense for the lakers has to come from dlo and Ad in pnrs….Lebron being more of a two way closer and scoring in spurts like a true vet….egos are too big to make that happen…oh well…a lot of grifters and complainers on that lakers team,happy they’re getting bounced early

Man this game was crazy. What I think really ultimately lost them this game was AD slowing down. At the 10 minute mark of the 3rd, he had 32 points on 14/15 shooting. Only took 4 more shots the rest of the way and didn't score at all. That just can't happen when he had as dominant of a 1st half as he did. Credit to Malone for switching Jokic off of him though. Jamal is so fun to watch, well really this whole Denver team is. I agree with the point about him being able to have more legs down the stretch with Jokic next to him. They just have such an unstoppable two man game. Looking forward to more!

yeah, lebron is out of his mind special. can never count him out. But sweeps are tough. U have to really want the sweep . To me it comes down to the mindset after they go 3-0, do they take their feet off the gas a bit? Do the lakers want to lay down?..that kind of thing. we'll find out soon tho

Legler pointed out the Nuggets had an offensive rating of 200 in the last 5 minutes of that game... That's an avg of 2 points per possession. The truly elite teams have an unstoppable two-man game. This got me thinking about who Steph should play with next that will give him a shot at another title. How about we trade him to San Antonio and pair him with Wemby? It makes sense because Wemby can cover for Steph's defensive liabilities at this stage of his career and the Spurs can technically withstand his $100M+ cap hit for the next two years because Wemby's on a rookie contract.

lakers the last two seasons have had the highest free throw differential in the league by more than double the team in second place. the refs are the reason they are in the playoffs in the first place. so them complaining about the refs is very rich

Dinwiddie is the perfect example of a regular season player. It was a talked about acquisition -- he just looks lost out there. Its crazy that Vincent isn't taking his minutes when he's played big starter(?) playoff minutes just last year.

Love the breakdown, Alc. I'm honestly surprised there were no MPJ jokes from you lmao. And maaaan, I feel like I been waiting 10 years to see Bron play a true oldhead, high-impact, low-ego game. Like a MEGA version of a Iguodala and Draymond hybrid. And it was beautiful to see, he has the perfect physique for it. But... much like I wanna see Steph play the old man Tim Duncan decoy role... it came too little too late. Denver is just too good. Also great to see that the Denver Walkdown™ is a thing that can happen to anybody, so I don't feel as crazy that it happened to us.

Alch, I was fortunate enough to have been at this game live and a few things popped out at me. 1) The intensity of the playoffs vs regular season is felt so much more live compared to on the TV 2) Lebron is crazy man, even at 39 this man is ballin.. hard to hate 3) The altitude and pace absolutely got to the Lakers at the end there. I think AD had 0 in the 4th..... could we see a sweep again? I assume LA gets 1 at home but its been 10 straight now so Im not confident in that statement tbh

Alch what do you think about Denver switching AG onto AD and KCP onto Bron when Jokic was getting cooked by AD? Do you think they go with those matchups rest of the way or stick to their original plan and only adjust when they have to? I feel like KCP can hold up on Bron better than Jokic can on AD, but I'd feel better forcing AD to have to be aggressive knowing his competitive stamina issue rather than giving Bron an easier matchup and risking him taking over. After this hellish season though it does feel great seeing the Nuggets torture the Lakers 😂 this reminds of the 18-point lead we blew to Denver with the Jokic half court buzzer beater. But no championship team since our dynasty has the inevitability and championship DNA feel like this Nuggets team. The first 2 games of this series reminds me of our series vs Portland in the WCF in 2019 where they'd jump out to big leads and inevitably we just walk them down every time.
