Only one game and a preseason game at that but how can you not be amped after that performance? Obviously some very pleasant surprises, not least of which Klay mostly deferring and Trayce and Daric holding it down on D while also providing some timely offense. And along with CP3's steady hand and JCool finally learning to harness his skills, we suddenly seem much more dynamic on offense AND on defense. I dare say we have the option to go "big-enough" if necessary with Daric, Trayce, JK, Wiggs, Green, and of course Loon being rotated in/out as necessary. I also loved the mixed line-ups Kerr threw out there. Previously it was either all starters or all 2nd unit but tonight we got combinations that were both fun and effective. Last but not least, I was so relieved to see that whatever was impairing GP2's athleticism last year seems to be resolved. He was back to his old exciting self out there making a huge difference with those few minutes he was awarded. Now we need to see if Trayce/Daric can handle a real center (which flopping, knee diving Sabonis is not). Go Warriors. Go Alch!

It's just an interesting new philosophy that the long 2 is a bad shot. It's a bad shot shot for 95% of the league, but there's a handful of guys, you can see it in the way they pull up and release it, the level confidence - he knew that guy couldn't guard him, and it was going in. Wiggins is never that confident from 3, he grew up before the fully developed 3 point era. I'm not saying he should never take 3s and he should take 10 17-footers a game. But there's something missing in this narrative and logic that has now dominated the paradigm. Ironically by a group that still holds Jordan as the greatest scorer of all time.

Klay's going to test free agency, its pretty much a given at this point. Joe Lacob also said at one point in time "I fully expect Bob Myers to be back". Don't take everything he says at face value.

Yeaa there's a couple ideal options, it's just if Kerr would be willing to sit Klay in closing minutes and how he would respond. Because of his spacing and big shot making its understandable why he's a solidified crunch time weapon...but with Cp on the floor and Klay, a lineup where Curry is the 3rd word player seems problematic. But I agree Kuminga or GPII could be interesting in thr slot.

Wiggs' 3-point shot looks like he hopes it's going in, whereas his two-point jumper looks like he knows it's going in. I know the 19-footer has been demonized by analytics but he needs to be pushed to take at least a handful of those a game. Anytime he has a guard on him he should be going for his head and that long 2 has to be a part of his arsenal in his attack.

The calming hands of CP in 4th quarter minutes - he is the antithesis to Dray and the homerun pass. Their is a patience and an understanding for allowing a play to unfold and find when a player is open or which matchup is favorable. I'm not so sure though defensively the 1-2-3 of CP, Curry, Klay is a lineup that is going to stop anyone when it matters most.

Davion got going from three. I like that they stayed scouting report disciplined. When the Kings went back to Mitchell for offense in the second half he wasnāt nearly as effective.

Also Alch not sure if you were the one to make this point initially and Iām not even a niners fan but TJD feels like the Brock Purdy to Wisemanās Trey Lance. Almost damn near the last pick in the draft, undersized for his position, but just has every instinct for the game that the athletic freak of nature top picks lacked. Obv wonāt be playing nearly as big of a role as Purdy but the parallels are uncanny

Iām getting 21-22 vibes with the focus and energy. We went undefeated that preseason and used it as a tune up and that feels the same this year. I canāt wait to see CP and Draymond annoy the shit out of every other fanbase and then stick clutch 3s š¤£

Draymond Green. When you put on-ball menaces like Wiggs, GP2 and Kuminga out there with an all-time defensive floor general like Draymond behind them, plus a lot of other decent system defenders, there's no way we're not a top 10 defense.

Depth. Hunger. Versatility. Longer off season. All the pieces are coming together. CP3 adds a high IQ wrinkle and masterclass flops. Kuminga and Moody continue to improve. Both rooks look to be pluses so far. Saric is our new Beli but with better defense. Kontract Klay knows that sharing is caring. Draymond with extendo rest. We actually have a couple of smaller bigs to throw in the mix to ameliorate bad size match ups. The vibes are great.

Itās been good to see the young guys and rooks getting some solid reps. TJD and Podz look like they could have chance to crack the rotation in the regular season especially based on matchups and resting stars. TJD looking more and more like the steal of the draft

Kumingas defense and turnovers are a concern - he was -17 :/. His team defense was weak all game, but even the on ball defense was bad early. Also, he seems to need extended playing time - he looks a lot better when he gets 30m, but if he starts like that is Kerr going to put him on shorter leash in the regular season?

That was probably the most intense pre-season game I've seen in years. Just hoping JK does better on defensive assignments AND hoping he works with Steph on his ball-handling. His offensive game is really good.

All i keep hearing on twitter and whatnot is how the warriors defense looks like crap and we arent a championship level defense - do you agree or do you think its preseason / no draymond? Cause the kings played hard these last two games and I think our defense held up well to a high octane offense.

I was there and the entire game was pretty low energy until the last few minutes. At about 4 minutes during a timeout Klay walked to a baseline corner while people filed out, because they thought we'd lose. I saw him look at them and I commented to the person next to me "I wonder if this motivates them (or the opposite)?" Man, the people that left sure missed a fun ending. I really enjoy watching the cam inside the tunnel. I'll note that Klay looked "focused" (I'll let you decide if that's a good word) and didn't dap anyone up on the way through the gathering players. I thought it was odd. He seemed to show very little emotion during timeouts, etc. OK, on to watch your breakdown, Alch.
