a;c your right, it doesn't matter what either one of us picks to win a game of a series. i just find it interesting that the last series with Denver you picked Nuggets because of our lack of size. this series you are leaning towards Memphis because of once again size and our age vs their age and athleticism. No joke the grizz drip with swag and pride, but i think we showed in the first game, or GPII showed a little splash, "watch your head boi", that we got it going on, KUMINGA will be key for us. i was nervous as heck, but i feel a little better coming into game 2. be blessed and safe

In what sport nowadays are the officials barred from using replay to get a call right? Only the NBA. GP2 REPEATEDLY got the Warriors extra possessions, yet when he got the most impactful of all the refs put on their blinders and refused to make a call on the out of bounds on Klay’s free throw. Early in the game Kerr instructed GP2 to back off Ja, meet him at the circle, but on the last play he had him crowd him. It should have cost the Warriors the game. Ja makes that shot 80% of the time. Thank goodness Ja made those first three’s. It set the tone for the Grizzlies and drew them away from the paint. They won’t make that mistake again.

I love how Klay has found out how to defend Ja drives. Philippines above saw it too. What Klay has figured out is don't jump up as Ja will just go beyond you. You back up and extend and reach out low as thats where he lets his scoop shots go from. Klay wasn't team USA's Defensive stopper for nothing!

Guarantee the NBA front office was all over the refs. NBA playoff games are about fierce competition, but, lets be honest, they are also about ratings. You don't throw out a star players, unless it is something over the top egregious. It worked in our favor though because it has to be a blow to the psyche of this young Grizz team that we beat them without Draymond, no Iggy to fill that role, with Ja hitting 4 3's, Jaren Jackson going for 33/10 and no foul trouble, with Klay and Steph having pedestrian games, every call going their way, 90% Klay clanking 2 game icing free throws, or at least would have forced them to take a 3, and getting the ball with 4.8 seconds left after Klay clanked the FT's that clearly should have been W's ball. Honestly, it felt like it was going to be a heartbreaking last shot Dubs loss. But we stole one on the road, which was our mission, and hurt the youngsters confidence in the process. I note that Jaren Jackson was a problem, but he is often a foul waiting to happen. I would like to the see the Dubs maybe post up JK on him. Now Jackson will out class him right now, he's also taller too, but can't help but think JK could maybe hang a couple of fouls on him.

I went from Grizz in 6 to Warriors in 7. Though stealing game 1 home court makes me think maybe Warriors in 6. The best part about being able to close in 6 means game 6 Klay unlocked and homecourt advantage unlocked. And they BETTER not come out with that Nuggets game 5 home court energy.

On that last play, before the inbounds, GP2 was setting up on the logo and Steph got off the bench to go tell GP2, what looked like, to pick up Ja in the back court. I like your analysis Alch on the advantage of picking him up back there. Gotta wonder if Ja would have made it if GP2 hadn't picked him up back there and we would have a totally different vibe going into game 2

The biggest concern has always been the level of appropriate fear and motivation with this Dubs team after accomplishing so much. Off the bat great to see that's not gonna be a problem in this series against this opponent. Plus I watched your YT preview right before the game and your chance in tone has me all the way hyped. This is only game 1 but got major Game 6 2019 Rockets vibes with the rising to the occasion (Durant getting hurt/Dray getting ejected). Some more tactical things but our defense and athleticism was so much more noticeable with Wiggins + Kuminga on the court. Not sure how much of those 2 together we're gonna get with Dray back but it was refreshing to not be at an athletic disadvantage for once. Also a great Kerr game although I nearly had a stroke when I saw DLee checking in LOL. But he held his own. One thing I don't know if you noticed Alch but Kerr had JK and Otto in the game and had Otto on Clarke and Kuminga on Anderson. Wouldn't it be perfect to swap those 2 matchups? It was tough seeing Otto tryna keep up in this game, feels like Slo Mo is the only one he can match up with. Regardless like Klay said, they didn't come here to just win one game. Slater made the great point that us winning at Chase is far from a given with this Grizzlies team, so if it's 1-1 the pressure is immediately back on us. Got a real chance to step on their neck here in Game 2 especially with a Draymond revenge game. LFG!

Draymond was driving me crazy with his attempts at Diva assists where his pass is the highlight. How many into the stands and fastballs into someones ankle throws is he allowed? Love hate with Dray as always, but I agree game two he will be ON. I think our small quick lineup can do fine rebounding if we hustle like this game AND Memphis keeps launching 3's so the rebounds are flying all over the place. Its the Joker type walk into the paint and keep throwing up Moses Malone re rebounds where we are in trouble. IMO This entire free throw problem started when Jordan joked with Steph before Steph took a tech against Denver. They both laughed at the joke but Steph has been overthinking his free throws ever since, no hitter rule, don't F with the free throw god, let him keep throwing strikes, you never talk smack, even playful shit, to your own guy.

I didn't actually get to watch this game live and was able to catch the tail-end of the radio broadcast but I can imagine the stress level from watching this game and getting worked up over the inconsistent officiating. Why not add an extra official on the floor for playoff games if the league doesn't have enough eyes on the game to make the correct call? This game played out in a way I did not expect. From Memphis making more threes to the Warriors ending the game with the rebound advantage, this was one of those games that proved we cannot judge these matchups on paper. I was expecting GP2 to start a game eventually in this series but definitely not game 1. Draymond getting kicked out also helped unlock the 4G lineup and I think Memphis was having a lot of difficulty figuring out how to guard that unit because of how many defensive mismatches it exposed.

yah man, i think the grizz are a little too over confident. We grown men. That matters. Your youth and athleticism takes a hit when the stakes go up. Ja clearly loves the pressure, or at least postures to show that, but he playing men, initiated through real epic battles between those lines. I'd love to see a sweep and the snatching of the young boys souls and ego. Put em in their place - dominate through execution, intelligence, skill, and experience.

I think a formal complaint needs to be filled listed all of these inconsistencies that you mentioned here in this video but I know the warriors are not gonna do that. I don't think anyone cares and it will continue. No one is talking about the refs on any sports shows they are just talking about the draymond green call and the majority of them agree with him getting thrown out. The refs are making mad nervous. It's clear they either want the series to go 7 games or they want steph and the warriors to clear the way for their new darling Ja or the refs have family members betting on the game. Something is amist. And did I hear you mention that we won't even get to see the report that the nba puts out after each game about the calls the refs made? Why? I think. One thing I thought coming in that has nothing to do with the talent and measurables played out in game 1. Memphis hasn't been punched in the mouth and faced the heartbreak teams need to grow up and really lock in, Ja's dancing kinda confirmed it. After stealing game 1 without Draymond and Steph and Klay not shooting well I don't see us losing this series, but even if Memphis somehow makes it past us they are getting smacked by either Phoenix or whoever comes out the east. Coming in I seriously under estimated their lack of playoff experience

man after all the weird shit that happened this game i wasnt even tripping if they lost it. they had so many opportunities to lose it! i could see them capitalizing on future games. seething is the right word, and curry and klay imo exploit those feelings very very well. let's see what adjustments both teams bring.

Wow, that disparity at the end with the two out-of-bounds situations is genuinely concerning. It's not even a conspiracy after seeing that.... they can't make the excuse that they couldn't review the out of bounds, because they had literally done that for the first one - which was conveniently overturned. Both were under 2 minutes. This is really unfortunate, because I know people will forget and stop caring in a few days. The refs know that, but I think this is something that seriously needs to be looked at as the series continues.

Obligatory "sorry for commenting before watching" lol. My main takeaway from this game is this: I'm genuinely surprised. I guess we did dodge a bullet with Ja missing (or Klay blocking???) the game winning shot. Every feeling in my gut knew we were gonna lose by a game winner. It was only fitting. There wasnt a single part of me throughout this game that made me feel like we were gonna win. In fact, even after it ended, I was still like "wait its over? Surely the refs wont let it end like that." Klay somehow both coming in clutch and flat out choking lol hahah. I love him from hitting that shot, and am pissed he clanks BOTH free throws. Real question of concern: how long until we all become genuinely worried about the FT shooting? Steph/Klay/Poole were the three best FT shooters in the league coming into the playoffs, but have suddenly turned into completely unreliable FT makers. Ive never felt as much doubt about them at the line until now. Its literally Iguodala levels of doubt. I used to be more surprised at Iguodala's makes than his misses. And how Im almost EXPECTING Steph to miss them and its concerning. Anyway: I feel like the Grizzlies severely over estimated their own ability to just come out and bully the Warriors. I think a large part of that is their arrogance and lack of experience which we all knew the Dubs have the advantage. But Ja dancing mid-shot in the FIRST quarter, them flopping on every call knowing a whistle is coming, and just the general look of SHOCK when the game ended. They actually couldnt believe they lost, as if this game was a given W for them and they were just supposed to be handed a victory. I love that the Warriors humbled them to start the series. And I have literally no idea what to expect in game 2. If the Grizz buckle down and stop being cocky and really lock in, they have the roster to blow us off the floor. But then again, Steph and Klay both were rather cold last night, and Poole didnt score the final 8 minutes of the game. The more GP2 and Kuminga play, the better they get. I need Kerr to trust Kuminga more. Clarke was KILLING us with those offensive boards as expected. Kuminga is the leveler for athleticism. We have to be okay with him making some mistakes every now and then if we want to win this series. I think he will be key going forward. Finally. Draymond......I honestly dont know man. I think it was the right call. Him being all extra afterwards kind rubbed me the wrong way. I know thats Draymond being Draymond but Id prefer if he didnt go all PatBev in just game 1. The Warriors still won and thats incredible, but he needs to be smarter and stay on the floor regardless of how bad the refs are. If he fouls out? Fine. But he cant be getting ejected in the first half of games this deep in to the playoffs. Projecting future problems, this could really come back to bite us if starts racking these up again. I swear everytime he does this, Kerr and the coaching staff need to lock him in a room and have him watching 2016 finals game 5 ON REPEAT. He needs it drilled into his head that when he does stupid shit, it has bigger effects than just that single game.
