Wow thats awesome! And good news: I have had Too Black on several episodes at this point, all in our back catologue you should be able to find easily. I have not talked about that book in particular though, so thats a great reason to have him back on!! Hes great.

Sorry this isn't relevant to the episode but I don't know if there's a better place to post exciting things like this. Rev Left got a nice little shout out from Too Black in this discussion on Black Capitalism with Dr. Jared Ball. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNmKPOHLNok It'd be pretty tight if you could figure out a way to have a conversation with him about his book "The Myth and Propaganda of Black Buying Power: Media, Race, Economics." Or anything else he'd like to talk about really. Currently he's having some very interesting discussions with Samantha Youssef on how media like Andor use the veneer of radicalism to subvert radicalism. They're diving into the nuts and bolts of how this type of media is created to provoke a very specific reaction in the audience, i.e., watching this content was a radical act.

Im so glad to hear that your drought has ended, and you found a job in line with your values, my friend. That is karmic, and the unfolding continues, as you create new and good karma everyday. No matter how long one has been meditating, there are always challenges - there is not some perfect state of serentity that is reached for all time and in perpetuity. Your awareness of it is in and of itself wisdom. Now you are better prepared for the next time you are pushed in new ways!

The last ~20 mins was so timely as i was just ruminating on my embarrassingly unenlightened reaction (after ~20 yrs since getting into meditation) to this deeply stupid fucker on a bar patio last night, where i knew right away there was no utility in arguing with someone saying the shit he started saying-- intruding on my conversation with someone else, no less-- but i kept chirping back at him, until my buddy (who's a better Buddhist than me, i think) intervened and diverted the dummy's attention for the next, like, *half hour!* So yes, grateful for the reminder that we just gotta' keep practicing 😛 Congrats on the mysterious new job; i just started one two weeks ago myself after a year of underemployed precarity! Doing harm reduction outreach with a non-profit, which doesn't even feel like work, i love it! And it feels practically 'karmic,' considering i only spent the last year with so much free time, and unknowingly training myself for the job i never saw coming, because my growing leftism led me to mouth off online at a cop, who weeweewee'd me to his superiors whose building i worked in and they took my antifascist, "fuck the police" talk *personally.* 😋 Hope you're as happy at in your new thing as i'm finding mine ✌🏻
