Chapter 121: The Sleeping Husband

Harry looked utterly speechless. He rolled his eyes hard and snapped, “At a time like this, you still have the nerve to argue? Hurry up and figure out how to shut down the Bifröst! After this is over, you can fight all you want!”
With that, he didn’t hesitate anymore. He whipped his wand through the air, trying to seal Loki into the Mirror Dimension!
One deep, eerie blue spatial rift after another tore open, charging at Loki with a momentum that looked like it could shred everything in its path.
Wherever the rifts passed, the air twisted into grotesque shapes, hissing and crackling—like space itself was groaning in pain.
Yet Loki remained calm, the corner of his mouth curling into a disdainful sneer. Unhurried, he raised Gungnir—the Eternal Spear—horizontally before him and gave it a light sweep. The spear’s tip sliced precisely into the oncoming rifts.
In an instant, the rifts were cleaved apart. With a piercing blast, they shattered into countless tiny fragments of light and dissolved into the air.
From the moment it was forged, Gungnir had been bestowed with a terrifying “sure-hit” property. Tearing through space was merely the tip of the iceberg of its many powers.
The Mirror Dimension wouldn’t work, so Harry immediately gathered his magic and formed an electromagnetic railgun. In the blink of an eye, the railgun shot forward like a comet ripping across the sky, screaming straight at Loki.
Loki only lifted a hand and lightly tapped with Gungnir.
Crack!
The railgun shattered like fragile glass, collapsing into countless tiny particles of energy that dispersed into the vast void.
Loki, empowered by Gungnir, was terrifyingly strong.
Realizing Harry wasn’t his match, Loki’s face instantly filled with smug delight.
His lips curved upward, arrogant and self-satisfied. He slowly lifted Gungnir, and frost spread beneath his feet. Ice surged up like a rising iceberg, hoisting him higher and higher until he looked down from above and said,
“Harry, this feeling really brings back memories, doesn’t it?
It reminds me of when we first met—how I beat you senseless in the duel arena. Back then, in front of me, you were like a lamb waiting for slaughter, only able to be toyed with at my mercy.
These days, I’ve regretted it every moment. Regretted not teaching you a harsher lesson then—regretted not making you understand our gap even more deeply.
But it doesn’t matter. Fate seems to have given me another chance!
As long as I don’t kill you, how dare you recklessly enter that out-of-control state? You don’t want to destroy all Nine Realms because of your own stupidity, do you?
So today, I’m guaranteed to win!”
Seeing Loki’s utterly punchable, petty-villain grin, Harry felt anger rocket straight up his spine—he wanted nothing more than to beat the brakes off this guy right now.
But his face remained calm, his expression indifferent, refusing to let Loki get even more pleased with himself.
He said slowly, “Are you sure you’ve won? Don’t forget—the true master of Gungnir will always be All-Father Odin.”
A bad feeling hit Loki. His gaze sharpened instantly as he stared at Harry and demanded, “What are you trying to do?!”
Harry suddenly drew in a deep breath and shouted, “All-Father Odin! I know you’re awake—take back Gungnir! Otherwise, war will sweep across the Nine Realms again!”
“You—!” Loki blanched, genuinely believing Odin had awakened from his sleep. If that were true, he would never be able to destroy Jotunheim—and worse, what awaited him would very likely be a long imprisonment.
However, several seconds passed.
Dead silence. Nothing happened.
Only then did Loki’s taut nerves loosen. He exhaled hard, furious. “You dare play me?”
All-Father Odin hadn’t awakened at all!
Facing Loki’s raging fury, Harry wasn’t afraid in the slightest. Instead, he mocked, “Yeah. I played you. What are you gonna do about it?”
The blatant provocation completely enraged Loki. His face twisted with anger, turning vicious and frightening.
He was just about to swing Gungnir to attack Harry, but at the very instant he moved to strike, Harry suddenly widened his eyes, pointed past Loki toward his back, and shouted, “Watch out behind you—Thor’s going for your rear!”
Loki lifted his chin, full of confidence. “Still trying that old trick? Don’t underestimate me. I’m the God of Mischief—the professional at deception and schemes. Do you really think I’ll fall for it again?”
But before he could finish—
Thor sprang high behind him, gripping Mjölnir tightly, and swung straight down at Loki’s head.
Clang!
Mjölnir slammed into Loki’s skull with a deafening crash like iron striking iron.
Loki was sent flying, plummeting toward the raging seawater beneath the Rainbow Bridge. At the last possible moment, he snapped back to his senses, halted himself in midair, and floated back onto the bridge.
The world spun violently. Loki’s brain felt like it had been churned into mush, and he nearly blacked out on the spot.
His vision blurred as if a thick fog had draped over everything. In that haze, he seemed to see the Thor in his line of sight turn into a strange mass of light and shadow, slowly dispersing.
And the real Thor—somehow—was behind him.
Gritting through the stabbing pain in his head, Loki used healing magic on himself and finally regained full awareness.
When he truly came back to himself, his composure completely shattered. He’d never imagined that one second he’d be talking big, and the next second reality would slap him in the face that hard.
“Damn it!” Loki threw his head back and roared, his voice packed with rage and unwillingness. “You dare deceive the God of Mischief?!”
He gathered magic and poured it into Gungnir, his eyes bloodshot as he locked onto Harry and activated Gungnir’s “sure-hit” concept!
But he still retained a sliver of reason. He knew he couldn’t deal Harry a fatal blow, or everything would spiral completely out of control.
So he adjusted the spear’s aim slightly and targeted Harry’s right chest instead.
With Harry’s strength, an injury like that would be a heavy blow—but not lethal.
Feeling that icy, bone-deep threat of death locking onto him, Harry looked utterly done with this and couldn’t help complaining internally:
Thor was the one who hit you—so why are you zeroing in on me?!
So the “loving brothers” are you two, huh?
I’m just one part of your little play!
Locked on by Gungnir, a crushing pressure descended on Harry like an invisible mountain. The air around him felt as if it had frozen solid.
But Harry didn’t panic. Sensing the magic power that had just awakened in the distance, he instead looked relaxed and said to Loki, “Loki, this time All-Father Odin really has awakened. If you surrender now, I can consider beating you a little more gently.”
Loki was so furious he laughed. “I told you—I’m the God of Mischief! The same trick won’t work on me a second time!”
Harry shrugged helplessly, spreading his hands. “Fine. Refuse good advice, and you’ll pay for it. All-Father Odin, I know you’re awake—revoke Loki’s authority!”
One second… two seconds…
Several seconds passed.
Dead silence again. Aside from the howling wind, nothing happened.
Loki’s smugness deepened. He doubled over laughing and pointed at Harry, dripping with ridicule:
“Hah! Odin’s sleep isn’t something you can just snap out of. Who do you think you are, trying to act like you understand Father better than I do? Absolutely ridiculous!”
Right as Loki laughed wildly, a powerful wave of magic suddenly surged from the palace in the distance, rolling over them like a storm tide.
Harry felt it instantly, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly.
Loki, however, went deathly pale. His smile froze on his face, his eyes filling with terror and disbelief.
He felt Gungnir in his hand turn unbelievably heavy, as if a towering mountain had pressed down on it, nearly crushing his arm.
Then, Gungnir ripped free of his grasp on its own—pulled by an invisible force—streaking like a beam of light toward the upper levels of the palace.
The way it abandoned him was like a heartless, trashy ex-girlfriend—dropping him without the slightest hesitation.
All-Father Odin had truly awakened!
Loki’s face went stiff, and he could barely hold onto the fake smile he’d forced. He looked at the knuckle-cracking Harry and said awkwardly, “Don’t hit my face… g-gently…”
Harry blasted Loki away with an electromagnetic railgun, stripping him of any ability to resist. Then he rushed in with a storm of punches and kicks, shouting as he beat him down:
“God of Mischief, huh? ‘Won’t fall for it a second time,’ huh? ‘Don’t believe it,’ huh? What’s wrong—why aren’t you talking now?!”
While Harry was beating Loki, Thor shattered the ice, seized the Bifröst Sword—Hofund—and yanked it out of the control console with all his strength.
The moment Hofund was pulled free, the Bifröst’s energy flow stopped at once. The deadly beam connecting to Jotunheim faded away, and the world-ending crisis that had been about to fall finally—at last—was resolved!
Loki could only watch helplessly as Thor shut down the Bifröst and destroyed the plan he’d prepared for so long. He had no power to fight back—and on top of that, he was still being beaten senseless by Harry.
The scene was like a husband who’d passed out cold: everyone else had already galloped off and finished the job, while he was still struggling—unable to wake up from his stupor.
The enemy was too strong, monstrous beyond belief. No matter how hard they fought, they simply couldn’t win.
The Bifröst had been active for about half a minute. In that brief span alone, several cities in Jotunheim were reduced to ruins, and countless civilians died in the catastrophe.
Thor’s face was grim as he hurried back from the distance. He stopped Harry from beating Loki and said seriously, “Harry, what happens next is between the two of us. I hope you won’t get involved.”
Harry shrugged and smiled lightly. He’d already gotten his fill of punching, so he had no objections.
He walked off to the side, picked up a chunk of watermelon, and started eating it leisurely. “Do your thing. I absolutely won’t interfere. I’ll just watch.”
“Thank you, Harry!” Thor said gratefully. Then he turned to Loki. “Loki, it’s over. Stop this. Come back with me and accept Father’s judgment!”
Loki’s once-handsome face was now swollen. One eye was blackened like a panda’s. He glared viciously at Thor and forced out a few words through clenched teeth:
“No. It’s not over!”
He suddenly lunged forward, reached for Hofund on the ground, grabbed it tightly, and sprang up, pointing the sword at Thor in confrontation.
Seeing Loki in such a miserable state, Thor was full of helplessness and heartache. He tried to persuade him again. “Loki, stop it. You have no chance. Just let it go!”
But Thor’s words didn’t calm Loki down—like gasoline on a fire, they ignited the fighting desire buried deep in Loki’s heart.
Loki grew even more frenzied. He curled his lips into a twisted sneer and roared, “You think I’m just playing around? You think I care about some throne? No—I’ve never cared about any throne! I just want to compete with you fairly!”
“I don’t want to fight you, my brother!” Thor urged again.
Those words struck Loki right in his sore spot.
He became even angrier. “No. I’m not your brother. Never have been!”
“Loki, stop being insane!”
“Insane? Yeah? Yeah? How is it that you went to Earth once and turned soft? Don’t tell me it’s because of a woman. Oh—right, I guessed it. Fine, then I’ll go end her!”
That finally snapped Thor’s temper.
He didn’t say another word. Like a maddened bull, he charged straight at Loki.
Loki didn’t back down either. He gripped Hofund tightly and struck back. In an instant, the two of them were tangled in a vicious brawl.
And Harry, meanwhile, sat off to the side at ease, holding a huge slice of watermelon, bright red juice smeared at the corner of his mouth.
He watched with amused interest, like he was enjoying an outrageous family drama.
Just then, he heard a faint movement behind him. Instinctively, he turned his head—
and saw Queen Frigga walking toward him slowly, in a posture that looked… a little odd…
