Bored!
Whoever was the reason why they had to hunt down the reason why people weren’t unlocking everyone’s Aura left and right was going to get punched in the face.
She didn’t know who, she didn’t know how, but someway somehow, somebody had approached Doctor Oobleck with a question, which then led him to blur around in excitement and used the opportunity to make it their class’ assignment!
And so here they were, in the library, having to hunt down books as Weiss dragged their team around to be the first to be able to answer the question.
She watched Ruby’s eyes swirl beside her, even as Weiss’ words went in through her ear and out the other.
Something about classism and the hoarding of power?
Yang groaned, leaning back on her chair and not even looking at the books Weiss piled in front of her.
Instead, Yang turned her eyes to her partner across from her.
If anyone was going to be as bored and annoyed at Weiss’ antics as she was, then it was going to Blake.
Blake, however, only hummed and nodded knowingly even as she held her own book-
Wait a minute.
Yang’s eyes narrowed.
Blake wasn’t usually amicable like this whenever Weiss was taking charge.
And yet here she was, listening obediently.
Something smelled fishy, and it wasn’t the tuna Blake had for breakfast.
Yang’s hand shot out, grabbing Blake’s book from above.
And there it was.
Two books fell out of her hand as Blake tried to pull back, but it was too late.
Yang was expecting the resistance, and so she leaned forward, gathering leverage on the two books with both hands before pulling back with a victorious smile.
“Aha!”
“SHHH!” The librarian shushed her, but Yang paid her no mind.
She only grinned smugly at Blake, even as her partner hissed at her.
“Give that back, Yang!”
“Which one?” She asked, separating the two books as Weiss looked at them with wide eyes before pursing her lips at Blake.
“Honestly, Blake? Ninjas of Love again?”
It was obvious what Weiss meant, and Yang grinned as she dropped whatever textbook Blake was using as cover to focus on the black hardbound cover remaining in her hand.
Yang then flipped the book over to look at what her partner was reading before leaning backward as Blake finally stood up to reach forward.
“No, Yang! Stop!”
“SSSHHHHHH!” The librarian shouted again, but Yang was focused on something else.
“His hands reached forward, softly touching my cheek even as I gulped in nervousness. I never knew my heart could be so fast before, but it only thrummed harder as he leaned forward to kiss me…..on the cheek.”
Silence dominated their table for a moment as Blake slowly turned the color red. Eventually, however, Weiss sighed in resignation.
“At least it’s not smut again.”
“S-Still filth though! Did you really have to read that out loud, Yang?” Ruby asked, fanning her blushing face as Yang only laughed at her cute, innocent little sister.
It wasn’t even that spicy, and that was the only reason she even read it out loud, for Ruby’s sake.
It was trashy, yet entertaining, so, so different to Blake’s usual reads.
And so it was the perfect material to embarrass her partner with.
Yang grinned as she looked up at Blake, who stared pleadingly at her with a blush on her face.
It wasn’t often that she managed to coax such emotion from her cool and mysterious partner, but when she did, it was a thing of beauty.
Just the thing she needed to tide over the boredom.
“Wow, Blake. I didn’t know you were having trouble with kissing scenes. Look at you blushing! What? Are they too hot for you?”
Yang knew Blake was actually fuming in anger, but she only laughed as she returned the book.
“Tough talk for someone who is overcompensating.” Blake seethed back, to which Yang only raised an eyebrow at.
Woah, she really must have made Blake angry if she was shooting back at her.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Yang asked, and this time, it was Blake who was smiling with too many teeth.
“I mean, you talk a lot for someone who hasn’t even been kissed before.”
Yang’s smile froze as she looked at her partner before she finally managed to unclench her jaw muscles.
“Oho, Blakey’s got claws, it seems.”
Blake’s eyebrow twitched, and wait, did her bow twitch too?
“I notice you’re not denying it.”
That jolted Yang out of her thoughts and she shook her head to glare at Blake.
“Please, I’ve got boys lining up to be with me.”
See, the thing was, that was a fucking lie.
While you might expect it to be true, Yang Xiao Long, being the daughter of Taiyang and niece of Qrow, meant that even in Signal Academy, she had chaperones.
She never really had the chance to experience those kinds of things when she had to take care of Ruby as well.
Still, once her reputation of being a fiery, passionate blonde, cemented itself, Yang knew she had to keep the ruse up for her pride as a big sister.
But just to emphasize her point, Yang crossed her arms under her chest with a knowing grin on her face.
Blake, however, seemed like the type that could spot an imposter because she grinned as she looked at Yang.
“And yet nobody has ever seen you with one.”
“Thank the gods for that at least.” Weiss muttered, rolling her eyes at them before focusing back on their assignment.
Yang, however, only narrowed her eyes at Blake.
“Nobody has seen you with one either, Blake. And considering what you usually read, I doubt you actually know what makes a good kiss.”
Blake paused at that before nodding hesitantly and looking at Yang.
“I’ve already been with a man.”
“You what?! Here?! In Beacon?!” Weiss shrieked loudly, this time getting more than just the librarian to shush them.
“”””SSSSHHHHHH!””””
Again, however, their team only ignored them as they all looked towards Blake in shock.
Yang could only gawk at her partner.
How?! How did she even sneak out to be a man?! They’ve been together as a team almost the whole time since Beacon started!
“No, it was before Beacon.” Blake answered Weiss’ question, and that at least explained things.
Still, Blake would’ve been younger then and as teenagers are want to do when dealt with such information, they got more curious.
“And you kissed?” Yang asked, just to get confirmation whether Blake actually kissed someone or not.
Blake, however, only hummed thoughtfully at her, their earlier fight forgotten as she went down memory lane before cringing suddenly.
“While I wouldn’t say it ended happily between us, I will say that I learned some things from him.”
“What things?” She leaned forward, but tired of revisiting her past, Blake suddenly smirked at her and deflected the subject.
“Curious, Yang? You’re starting to sound like someone who hasn’t even been kissed before.”
“Please, I was just checking if you knew what a good kiss felt.”
“I doubt you even know the specifics of it.”
“The specifics of what?”
Yang turned around, and there they were.
Team JNPR.
“Jaune!” Ruby called out loudly, and Yang watched Jaune falter a step before waving at her sister.
“H-Hey, Ruby!”
“Wassup, VB.” She nodded politely because that’s what people do to their sister’s friends.
“Hey, Yang.” Jaune nodded back before suddenly leaning backward as Ruby flashed in front of him.
“Are you here for Doctor Oobleck’s assignment too?” Ruby giggled happily as Jaune’s own team nodded and waved back at them.
“Y-Yeah.” Jaune chuckled before looking above Ruby to nod at the rest of her team. “I heard you talking about specifics. Did you find the answer to it already?”
Yang had no doubt Jaune was already aiming his eyes at Weiss. Everyone knew he liked her and it was obvious, he was going to focus on her after greeting Ruby.
Tough luck, however, Weiss wanted nothing to do with him.
“If you are actually planning on coasting on our efforts-” Weiss scoffed, but before she could even finish her sentence, a voice interrupted.
“We were talking about kissing!” Ruby answered, laughing at Jaune’s blushing face, even as Yang and the rest gasped in shock.
“””RUBY!”””
“”””SSHHHHH!””””
Ruby winced apologetically as glares were now being sent their way.
“K-Kissing? You were talking about kissing?” Pyrrha asked hesitantly, a blush coming in on her face, even as Jaune gawked silently beside her.
There was a moment when Ruby seemed to look hesitantly at Pyrrha, but eventually, Yang’s sister regained her enthusiasm to their exasperation.
“Yup, we sure were.”
“Honestly, Ruby, this is a private matter.” Weiss groaned, rubbing her temple to relieve her frustration.
“Didn’t seem like it with how heated you all were earlier.” Nora shrugged as Ren nodded beside her.
“Hm.”
“And…you were wondering about the specifics of it?” Jaune asked hesitantly, looking at Yang even as Weiss scowled at Jaune.
“Stay out of this, Arc! This is none of your-”
“Well, it is definitely not the teeth, I can tell you that.”
The world stopped and everyone looked at Jaune Arc, who, not only was ignoring Weiss, but also thinking thoughtfully!
Who was this man to ignore Weiss Schnee and to forge on boldly?!
And were they really going to continue talking about this?!
“You know what a good kiss feels like?” Blake’s eyebrows raised skeptically, and apparently, they really were going to continue talking about this.
“You don’t want your teeth clacking against each other, right? Because that’s just painful.” Jaune pointed out with an easy smile on his face, speaking as if he were talking about something obvious instead of something embarrassing!
Never had they seen Jaune this bold, confident, and smooth before!
Again, who was this man impersonating their goofy doofus of a friend?!
Speaking of never before seen sights, however, Yang had never seen Blake as interested in Jaune as she was now.
“What about biting, though?” Blake asked as she leaned forward, transfixed like they all were at this blonde man who only had an easy smile for them.
“That certainly could be part of making out, but kisses themselves actually have a lot more to do with the moment leading up to it. Which, in itself, would depend on who you are kissing. I mean, you wouldn’t need any kind of lead up when you kiss your best friend out of gratitude, right?”
It spoke a lot about how transfixed they were at Jaune that it took them all a moment to realize what he just said.
Everyone reacted, however, when he opened his arms wide and smiled at Ruby.
“Come here, Ruby!”
What.
Yang only had time to gawk before rose petals were suddenly flying everywhere.
“Hey, Jaune.” Ruby giggled as she was suddenly off of her feet and being carried by Jaune’s arms.
Like this, Yang could actually see her sister looking down at Jaune with a wide smile on her face.
How?! Why?! Since when were they this comfortable with each other?!
Sure, they were best friends, but they were nowhere near as clingy as this with the other!
Now, if only they were just that clingy.
“Hey, Rubes. Thanks for being my best friend.” Jaune smiled up, and then the weirdest thing happened.
He brought Ruby down towards him and kissed her.
On the cheek.
Gasps, shrieks, and the sound of metal creaking rang out all around them, but it wasn’t over just yet.
Despite the clamor they were attracting, Ruby Rose, Yang’s sweet little innocent sister, kissed Jaune back.
On the cheek.
Thank the gods for that, at least.
“Thanks for being my bestie too, Jaune.” Ruby laughed, but still, Yang’s eyes were already turning red even as the two best friends blushed at each other.
“VB.” She growled menacingly, stomping forward to get their attention.
Credit where credit was due, however, Jaune swung her sister sideways before putting her back on the floor to get her out of the line of fire.
Still, the bastard had the audacity to grin at her, and did what was possibly the stupidest thing ever.
He stepped towards her.
It was so stupid that Yang couldn’t help but reel back in surprise as she suddenly found him in her personal space.
Any other time, Yang Xiao Long would have punched Jaune straight in the face, not just because he kissed her little sister, but also because people didn’t just get in her face and not get punched in the process.
This was not any other time, however, as Yang Xiao Long found herself gasping at Jaune’s electrifying blue eyes and bright, easy smile on his face.
“That was just for best friends, but I think you were thinking about more passionate kisses?”
She didn’t nod.
She didn’t really answer.
Yang Xiao Long just gulped, and Jaune Arc took her silence to mean yes.
“Some people like a gentle approach, affectionate, soft, complete with loving words and all that, generally making sure your partner knows that the kiss means something important before doing it.” He continued, even as Weiss began to scoff at him.
“And you know this, how?”
“Seven sisters, remember?” Jaune smiled wryly, and everyone blinked at that.
Yeah, that was fair. Even Weiss nodded her head slowly at Jaune’s answer.
But Jaune was not done yet.
He looked past Yang’s shoulders to stare at Weiss, a blush crossing over his face even as he began to rub the back of his head awkwardly.
“Besides, I thought it’s what you would have wanted.”
Yang did not want to admit it, but that……was perhaps the smoothest he had ever been.
Weiss squawked, her face turning red even as he began to shriek at Jaune.
“I-that’s! I will neither confirm nor deny my preferences!”
Judging by how much she was blushing, however, they all had an idea of what she preferred.
This was usually the part where Jaune would wince, apologize, and slink back away from Weiss to try again later.
Instead, this time, he laughed.
“I guess I’ll just have to find out.”
Again, who in the world was this man?!
Smooth-talking, easy-going, kiss her little sister, confident man!
“I-what-bwah?!” Weiss sputtered with wide eyes before glaring at him. “In your dreams, Arc!”
Again, however, Jaune Arc turned the tables on her.
“I do that every single night, yes.” He smiled widely, getting Weiss to choke on air with a blush on her face.
And try as she might, Yang could not hold back the laugh from coming out of her mouth.
What could she say?
It wasn’t every day someone got the better of Weiss Schnee.
And it was perhaps the first time Jaune was the one able to do it today.
That just added to how funny it was.
Yet her laughter died inside her throat as he suddenly turned towards her with a gleam in his eyes.
“Others, however, like a more straightforward approach.”
The only warning Yang got that Jaune was going to do something stupid again was one moment of hesitation from him.
And then….he stepped towards her.
“W-Woah, VB!” She stuttered, her hands coming up between them even as she stepped backward.
She gasped, however, when she felt the edge of the table behind her push her back, and then….
Yang Xiao Long cursed the blush that rushed to her cheeks as she felt her hands land on his chest.
For someone who was at the bottom of Combat Class, he was actually surprisingly solid.
She had absolutely no idea what he was doing, but any coherent thought of protest melted away when he put a hand on the table behind her.
And with that, she was boxed in.
He loomed over her, his nervousness melting away from his face as he kept his eyes looking straight at her.
Only at her.
And wow, was he always this taller than her.
Yang couldn’t help but look up into his clear blue eyes aimed at her.
People said eyes were windows to the soul, yet all she could see as she stared into Jaune’s eyes was her reflection.
Yang’s heart fluttered, and a furious blush immediately formed on her face.
Jaune wasn’t done yet, however, because his hand found her chin without looking away from her.
Sharp blue eyes bore into shaking lilac ones as Jaune began to speak with a small, confident smile on his face.
“They like it when you know what you want.” He began with a whisper, his breath ghosting her face as he continued. “They like the confidence, the strength, and knowing that you absolutely will never abandon them.”
And damn, did that make her feel things.
And damn, this blonde-haired, blue-eyed bastard by making her feel them.
Dully, Yang became aware he was getting closer and closer, yet even as she started to lose herself in his eyes.
“W-What are you doing?” She asked, her voice low as embarrassment flushed through her body.
“Proving a point.” Jaune whispered huskily, and then his smile widened. “I won’t leave you, Yang. Arc’s word, I will never ever leave you.”
And then he kissed her.
On the lips.
With tongue.
She moaned, and the world faded away as she let her eyes flutter close.
He tasted like fire in the middle of winter.
Hot, warm, yet nurturing, and caring as well.
Yang didn’t dare breathe, afraid she might lose herself even more if she smelt him, on top of tasting him.
It backfired.
Instead, her lips savored the taste of his, even as their tongues wrapped sensuously together.
“Mhhmm~”
She shivered, and she found that she did not want the moment to end.
A muffled moan came from her throat as her hands automatically reached up to wound around his neck. She pulled him closer, deepening the kiss of her own accord, even as Jaune’s hands moved on their own.
Her chest pushed into his but she didn’t care. All she cared about right now was savoring his taste as his hand ran up her back to-
Suddenly, Yang was gasping for air as he pulled her back by the mane of her hair.
Oh.
Oh shit.
Jaune Arc was hot.
Capital H O T, hot!
Half-lidded eyes looked up at Jaune as he pulled back from her. He let loose a smirk that did wonderful and terrible things to Yang’s insides. Part of her screamed to pull him back in and kiss him deeper, but try as she might, she could not.
Not when he was smiling down brightly at her with a fistful of her hair held behind her head.
“Thanks, Yang.”
A blush broke out on her face, but whatever reply she had in mind, it choked on her throat as Jaune turned to look at their audience.
The audience that not only consisted of their team, but also the teams around them. Yang could even see Cardin watching them with wide eyes from another table, and that’s when realization came crashing down.
They saw that.
They saw all of that.
Oh, shit.
Yang’s hair burned just as Jaune let it go of it to speak as if he had not just obliterated her composure.
“And that’s how you give a good kiss.”
Yang covered her face with her arms, unwilling to show everyone the blushing mess that she had become.
But one thing was for sure.
Jaune Arc was a good kisser.
And he was apparently willing to share the secret to it.
“Pay attention to your partner, use words, find out what they like, choose your approach, and stick with it. Don’t be afraid to change plans, however, if they seem uncomfortable. Beyond that, a lot of it is going with the flow.”
Silence greeted him, but that seemed to suit Jaune just fine, because he shrugged as he smiled at the rest of Team RWBY before turning back towards his own team.
“Anyways, I think we are done here. Want to do some training, guys?”
Team JNPR had never nodded so fast in their life, and Yang heard them walk past her own team.
Left alone like this, Yang thought she could finally have a moment to breathe after that searing kiss and a little bit of hair-pulling.
She would be wrong.
“So that just happened.” Blake grinned, even as Weiss sputtered with a bright red face.
“W-What?! How dare that pervert-Yang! Are you okay?!”
Yang’s face was still blushing as she rubbed a hand on her hair, extinguishing the fire caused by her Semblance because of her embarrassment.
“Yeah, I’m okay.” She sighed, watching as her own sister furrowed her eyebrows in front of her.
“My bestie and my sister. My sister and my bestie. I don’t know whether to proud, mad, or happy!”
“Me too, sis. Me too.”
At least, that’s what she wanted to say.
But nope, Yang knew exactly what she was feeling.
Her heart still beat rapidly as she put a hand to her chest.
It was official.
Yang Xiao Long was turned on.

It was the answer all along!
Who knew his father was actually right?!
The moment he kissed Yang Xiao Long, Jaune Arc vowed he would never doubt his father ever again.
Back at the library, he didn’t actually know what he was doing or saying!
And yet, he just kissed Yang Xiao Long!
Because of confidence!
He just kissed one of the hottest girls in Beacon and she liked it!
Jaune’s face heated up as he couldn’t keep the smile off of his face.
Even after training with his team, and getting beaten black and blue by Pyrrha, Jaune was smiling.
“What the fuck was that?!” Cardin growled, but riding from the high of kissing Yang Xiao Long, Jaune only smirked at him.
“That, Cardin, was the work of a master.”
“Kissing one person does not make you a master.”
“It’s better than none.” Jaune pointed out, laughing, as Cardin only gritted his teeth.
“I mean, he has a point.” Russel shrugged, adding his own thoughts to the conversation, as Dove nodded sagely beside him.
“And it was Yang Xiao Long.”
Jaune laughed.
Yeah, he kissed Yang Xiao Long alright.
Even now, he was squealing like a little girl deep inside.
He could hardly believe he managed to kiss her and not get punched in the process.
Who wouldn’t want to be in his shoes?!
Case in point, Sky sighing wistfully at him.
“I would give my left nut to kiss Yang Xiao Long.”
The world paused before they all looked slowly towards Sky incredulously at that.
“What? She’s hot.” He defended, and that, perhaps, more than anything absolved him of everything.
“Okay.” Cardin nodded.
“Fair.” Russel added.
“Valid.” Dove finished.
Jaune could only groan, if he had a lien everytime he found out one of Cardin’s teammates had a crush on someone from Team RWBY, then he’d have two lien.
It wasn’t a lot, but it was strange for it to happen twice.
….Maybe not, because admittedly, the members of Team RWBY were drop-dead gorgeous. Even Ruby, who was only 15 had the makings of a wonderful, lovable woman.
Which, now that he thought about it, only made him blushed as he had now technically kissed the two sisters.
To get his mind off of that thought, he shook his head and looked questioningly at Team CRDL.
“What? Do all of you like someone from Team RWBY?”
Team CRDL looked at each other at that, and for a moment, Jaune thought each of them really did like someone from Team RWBY.
Again, however, he forgot that this was Cardin. Normal conventions didn’t exactly apply to such a pig of a man.
“Blake has a nice ass, and Yang has great knockers, but other than that, meh.” Cardin crossed his arms casually with a shrug.
“You know Weiss is pretty, but I don’t think I could take her mocking me 24/7 like you can.” Dove added, and they all knew who Russel and Sky liked.
Honestly speaking, Jaune should have been offended, but he was not.
It was a sad thing to realize that he was already desensitized to such talk.
This, was the problem with having hot friends. You had to hear other guys talk about them like this. He had the same problem back at Ansel in the case of his sisters.
Was it good?
Not in the least, but he was damn tired of it.
Jaune could only sigh as he shook his head at Team CRDL.
“Well, as long as you don’t mess with them, then we’re all good.”
“Two more, Arc. You’ve still got two more women to go through. In the meantime, go do our homework.” Cardin pointed out, to which, Jaune tilted his head in confusion.
“You mean Doctor Oobleck’s assignment?”
“Any other homework we have for today?” Cardin raised an eyebrow, but Jaune only rolled his eyes at that.
“Ugh, yeah, fine. Just wait till I kiss two more.”
Jaune left Team CRDL’s room begrudgingly, unbeknownst to him, however, a pair of amber eyes were sneakily following his movements.

Well looks like Blake knows, I wonder what hoops she's gonna make Jaune jump through just to earn a kiss from her. Then again, she might do it for free if it's to help Jaune one up CRDL, though once this bet is over and the rest of Team RWBY finds out, they might hate Jaune until he's in the grave since he practically played with their hearts. Though it could happen differently especially if Blake is there to help Jaune with that eventual conversation in the future, though what is apparent that if things work out, Jaune might have a date with Yang in the future, or all of Team RWBY depending on how this all plays out.
