Spooky or Autumnal Game for October
🕑 Added 2022-09-07 19:38:37 +0000 UTCI'm looking for a game to play for October! Help me choose which one to play. (If I don't like it, I'll move on to the next one after a few hours of gameplay and so on until we hit a good one.)
Note: These will be played live on stream.
Feel free to drop recommendations here as well, and maybe those will get picked up at some point.
Game info
Vampyr:
"London, 1918. You are newly-turned Vampyr Dr. Jonathan Reid. As a doctor, you must find a cure to save the city’s flu-ravaged citizens. As a Vampyr, you are cursed to feed on those you vowed to heal.
Will you embrace the monster within? Survive and fight against Vampyr hunters, undead skals, and other supernatural creatures. Use your unholy powers to manipulate and delve into the lives of those around you, to decide who will be your next victim. Struggle to live with your decisions… your actions will save or doom London."
This game just looks awesome to me. I've wanted to try it for a while. I enjoy games with difficult decisions.
Dead Space 2:
"In Dead Space™ 2, you join Isaac Clarke, the Systems Engineer from Dead Space, as he wakes up three years after the horrific events on the USG Ishimura. The Ishimura was a Planetcracker-class starship besieged by grotesque reanimations of its dead crew, known as “Necromorphs.”
After unearthing a strange artifact known as the Marker, Isaac finds himself on the Sprawl, a giant space station in orbit around Saturn. Unable to remember how he got here and plagued with demented visions of his dead girlfriend Nicole, he must survive another nightmarish outbreak of Necromorphs as he fights his way towards an answer he hopes will end all the chaos."
I've seen a friend play Dead Space, and I always thought it'd be too scary for me. It might be, but I'm interested to try to brave through again. Dead Space 2 is what's been recommended to me, but if this is one we try, I'll double check where to start. (Feel free to give your opinion in the comments!
Alien: Isolation:
"HOW WILL YOU SURVIVE?
Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien™, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance.
As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.
Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.
Overcome an ever-present deadly threat – Experience persistent fear as a truly dynamic and reactive Alien uses its senses to hunt you down and respond to your every move.
Improvise to survive – Hack systems, scavenge for vital resources and craft items to deal with each situation. Will you evade your enemies, distract them or face them head on?
Explore a world of mystery and betrayal – Immerse yourself in the detailed setting of Sevastopol, a decommissioned trading station on the fringes of space. Encounter a rich cast of inhabitants in a world scarred by fear and mistrust."
This one is another that may be too intense, but I really like the idea of survival focus, and a predator that learns your moves to track you down.
Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim
"You wake up on the beach of a strange island. Your memory, wiped. Your pockets, empty. Not another living soul in sight. Except of course the four lusty Killers playing volleyball in the sand nearby…
Who are you? How did you get here? Why is the ocean talking to you? Unravel these mysteries and find out what makes each character tick as you flirt, banter, and woo your way into their hearts in this darkly comedic adventure. But choose your words wisely. These Killers are passionate and powerful in equal measure, and this seductive dream can become a nightmare quicker than you think."
This is hilarious. I have to play it at some point. Also, I have an interest in dating sims. The idea behind them, as well as the execution of them.
