Surgery Success!
🕑 Added 2021-05-02 19:56:59 +0000 UTCHappy to report the IRL waifu had a stunningly great surgery with great outcomes! I should be able to resume regularly scheduled updates as of this week!
Well, that was before yesterday.
I was doing my dailies in genshin impact while monitoring the waifu and suddenly click my pc went black and would not turn back on. I assumed it was the power supply so I went and picked one from best buy and, unfortunately, it also would not start. I ended up taking out the card and was surprised to see that it was now passing POST. Put the card back in and boom, no more post. When pressing the power button the PSU "clicks" while the card was in, making me think the PSU is actually shutting off due to a short somewhere inside the card.
I was able to borrow and test a card and sure enough, mobo POSTS with that other one.
Obviously this poses a lot of challenges because I cannot find a single GPU in stock anywhere, regardless of the generation of GPU. This board has no onboard graphics either, so I'm shit out of luck.
I'm going to send EVGA a support ticket and see if they can do anything as it's been well taken care of for the last 6 years. Wish me luck!

Congratulations! If anybody else happens to see this comment, throw Reaver a buck or two. I can imagine the bill isn't so hunky-dory.

Thanks! Hopefully I can score one or maybe someone in my network has an extra.

Good news. Here's to lasting health. I feel you on that GPU hunt. Was looking at a RTX 2070 Super comparing it to the price of a pre-built system and it was $1299 compared to $1550 of the pre-built system (with 2070 Super). It's hard out there in them GPU streets. Good luck.
