Important Poll, pirated Patreon content
🕑 Added 2023-01-08 11:15:01 +0000 UTCSo my Patreon stuff was leaked AGAIN, except this time someone archived and uploaded literally EVERYTHING. Thankfully it's not as easy to find as the website my suff was leaked to before but it's still shitty.
That's why I started thinking about using PrimeLeap and I want to ask about your opinions about it.
A bit of info first:
1. All the content would be hosted on PrimeLeap and accessing it would require everyone to create an account there and link your Patreon account to PrimeLeap account (one time thing). Here's Animatic's instruction tutorial on how it would work: https://cdn.animatic.fun/MISC/PrimeLeap_Instructions_V2.jpg
2. You would still support (pay) through Patreon but the content would only be accessible through PrimeLeap.
3. After you have everything set up I don't think accessing the content would be any more inconvenient than searching for the MEGA link in the comments, in fact the links would be included in the posts themselves and the content should be pretty easy to access.
4. I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think PrimeLeap protects content by marking it with an unique (unobtrusive, perhaps even invisible) watermark/signature for every single Patron so if anything does get leaked the creator knows exactly who it was and the pirate can get banned on Patreon (at least on the site that leaked my stuff I've seen a lot of VERY SALTY people complaining about PrimeLeap and how they wouldn't risk touching the stuff).
So knowing that I'd like to know your opinions on the matter.

Sorry to hear your hardwork was leaked, I 100% wouldn't mind going to primeleap to help protect your work

Alright.

I don't want to touch primeleap but I probably won't just up and ditch you over it. (I'm basically on the tipjar tier anyway)

Yeah I think that's how it works, I don't have a club yet. Though seeing how the poll is going I think I'm not going to try anyway.

How does work? You simply provide the link to your primeleap club? I have an account now.

I don't actually know how the watermarks work, but I doubt they're obtrusive, it's possible they're not even visible and they are using some other way of protecting the content. I messaged Animatic (who's the admin there) asking for details and I'm waiting for the answer.

If i remember correctly clopician tried primeleap for pre viewing their vr animations as 2d videos but I dont think they had file sharing there. I personally dont want to engage with primeleap because its been annoying to interface with in the past. Also the idea of watermarks on a vr video just sounds immersion breaking. Ultimately though its your content and you deserve to be paid for your hard work.
