Fun fact: Stephen King based part of his concept for Rose Red on the Winchester Mansion (the constant building/hammering of the house) but in that case it was the spirits doing the construction and not the owner trying to outrun the restless departed.

James and Jimmy- I’ve been to the Winchester Mansion! It is as cool as it sounds -the wood work is amazing. She never wanted the hammering to stop…..there is a door that opens to a giant drop several small doors that open to brick walls -a lot of tiny rooms that can’t even fit a twin bed! It’s as strange and weird as you can image! It’s in San Jose!
