"Then... let it be so, Raiden Mei."
"As the Sovereign—"
"I grant you permission to leave World Serpent."
The true purpose of Kevin inviting Mei to join World Serpent...
Players had long suspected it.
But hearing it confirmed directly from Kevin’s mouth still struck a chord.
Faced with a man who could silently hold onto one sentence for thousands of years, how could anyone not be moved?
Kevin... Kevin... In the end, the one who makes our hearts ache the most—is you.
And so—
There were barrage comments that had to be said:
【Kevin, it’s just too hard for you.】
【Doubted Kevin before entering Elysian Realm, understood Kevin inside, became Kevin upon leaving.】
【Same goes for Otto ( ), human nature is just the smell of true fragrance.】
And then things started to derail:
【Kevin: Raiden Mei, you’re fired.】
【World Serpent members: Whoa! Don’t do this, Sovereign! If she leaves we’re stuck with instant noodles again!】
【World Serpent trait: -100 to rations.】
【Is Mei going back to see Kiana? Kiana x Mei reunion—hyped!】
With that, the story concluded.
The game interface returned to the main screen of Elysian Realm.
The entire interface had reverted to its soft pink, lovely state.
"Can we go back to Elysian Realm now?"
Elysia murmured, dreamy-eyed, as she tapped back into reality.
Clearly, she was still emotionally affected by that final scene with Kevin.
Kevin...
Humanity needs a guiding light.
Someone to lead their species forward with unwavering will.
No matter the suffering endured or sacrifices witnessed, that will must never falter, never be compromised.
Yes—humanity has always needed a guiding light.
A hero who stands tall. A hero who walks alone.
One who forsakes, who bears, who remembers.
And yet...
She still hoped Kevin wouldn’t keep forcing himself.
Of course... that wasn’t something she could suggest—it was a decision Kevin had to make himself.
That’s why she hadn’t said a single word all this time.
"......"
"Still, let’s take a quick look at Elysian Realm."
Elysia exhaled softly, easing her emotions.
Then she moved to click the small window in the top left corner to re-enter the Elysian Realm map.
The players in the stream instinctively refocused along with her.
【We can go back to Elysian Realm now?】
【I’ll just pretend everything that happened was a dream. No one got hurt. Elysia and the Flame-Chasers are all fine!】
But...
It obviously wasn’t going to be that easy...
The devs would never be so merciful.
When Elysia clicked, instead of loading the map, a message popped up:
"This is the story of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers."
Elysia: ?
She tapped again, instinctively.
"Please remember us often, okay?"
【???】
【Didn’t expect it. They won’t even let us back into Elysian Realm. You’re cold, MiHoYo.】
【MiHoYo, what are you doing?! Be human for once!!】
【That line—"remember us often"—wrecked me. The Flame-Chasers have become the past…】
【Before, they gave you candy before the guillotine. Now they made the entire short the guillotine. Bravo. clenched jaw applause.gif】
Elysia: ......
She sat in silence for a moment, then tapped a few more times.
"Carry our blessings and keep moving forward."
"From now on, it’s your story."
"Don’t be sad—we’re always here... in your memories."
Each line struck a different memory within the players.
All at once, everything they’d experienced welled up again.
【......】n
【That spear to the back caught me off guard. I’m freezing.】
Players wore the mask of pain on their faces.
Elysia, after reading through it all, turned to Hokuto as if to say something.
But Hokuto beat her to it: "Elysia, check the Flame-Chaser Archive."
"Archive?"
Elysia blinked and curiously opened it.
What happened next—
The screen transitioned to the Archive interface.
The previously shattered portraits of the thirteen Flame-Chasers suddenly lit up with soft pink light.
And then... they were whole again.
It wasn’t especially dazzling or ornate, but—
It still made people lose themselves in the moment.
They were back. All of them were back.
Even if... we could now only look at these files from the outside.
Even if... seeing this only made us miss Elysian Realm more.
Still...
Players couldn’t help but type out one simple line:
【As if it were the first time.】n
The same words, now carrying very different emotions.
...
“‘Otto’...”
Elysia looked over each restored file. Emotion brimming in her eyes, she couldn’t hold back the question.
“Do you feel ‘delightfully smug’ right now... after scamming so many people successfully?”
“Truly hilarious…”
Hokuto gave a light cough, then solemnly said, “Ahem. Everyone, please don’t be deceived by appearances. Deep down, I am full of sorrow and anguish.”
Elysia: “……”
Does he really expect her to believe that?
And didn’t he just slip up a second ago?
She almost spoke up—but decided it was pointless. If she did, Hokuto would probably just deflect with another clever remark.
So instead, she focused on something more important.
“‘Otto,’ did you really delete Elysian Realm just like that?”
It was a painstakingly crafted world, after all.
“Elysian Realm fulfilled its role. It retires with honor,” Hokuto replied.
“Retires with honor… I get the logic, but…”
Elysia thought of the skies she painted pink, the dazzling flowers, the charming decorations… and those punny, playful Flame-Chaser posters.
All those sleepless nights she’d spend dreaming up ideas, then rush to MiHoYo the next day, banging on the door, excited to share them.
That was why Elysian Realm was filled with so many delightful, smile-inducing details.
Even without her perspective as half its designer—
From a player’s point of view, the time spent running through the emotional highs and lows of Elysian Realm…
It was all precious.
And now, they couldn’t even enter it for a last look.
“Of course I still want to see it again.”
“Mm…” Hokuto hesitated slightly.
Just then, Elysia noticed something in the stream comments.
【Miss Fairy! Check on Elysian Realm of the Past!】
【I thought MiHoYo wouldn’t go that far, but now I’m not so sure. Is my weekly 500 crystals gone too?!】
【The crystals are important, yes—but even more important is that if Elysian Realm of the Past is gone, then all in-game Elysian Realm is truly gone!!】
【MiHoYo! Spare our ‘Elysian Realm’!】
“Huh? Oh!!”
Startled, Elysia realized—she had almost forgotten.
What if that was gone too?
Hurriedly, she navigated out of Elysian Realm’s interface and found the entry for Elysian Realm of the Past.
Deep breath.
Anxious. Nervous.
She tapped it.
Please, MiHoYo, let us keep one last piece…
Fortunately—she got in.
Seeing the familiar hall, Elysia sighed in relief.
"Looks like you haven’t lost all humanity, ‘Otto.’"
“……”
“Actually, it’s thanks to Kalpas,” Hokuto admitted.
“Kalpas?”
Elysia was surprised.
What does this have to do with him?
“Well… it’s a long story. Kind of complicated.”
Hokuto clearly didn’t want to go into detail.
“Hmm…?”
His vague reply only piqued Elysia’s curiosity more.
Kalpas and Hokuto…
Something must’ve happened.
She made a note to investigate later.
For now, she still had an official livestream to host—so she buried her curiosity.
“Whatever it was, I’m truly grateful to Kalpas for helping us preserve Elysian Realm of the Past.”
Elysia smiled and offered her thanks sincerely.
Many joined in at once:
【Thank you, Brother Jie!】
【Kalpas is amazing!!】
【He did it! He protected our home!】
…
Meanwhile, some noise came from outside the stream zone.
Hokuto glanced sideways.
He saw Kalpas walking out of the crowd—
While Vill-V stood amid the onlookers, stirring up trouble as usual.
Hm? Kalpas?
He probably didn’t want to deal with all this sudden gratitude.
And Vill-V?
Surely she wasn’t planning something…
No big deal. Hokuto figured, with Paramecium still nearby, Vill-V couldn’t cause too much trouble.
Probably?
He turned back to focus.
Elysia was now strolling through the preserved Elysian Realm of the Past.
Eventually, she stopped before the Altar of Remembrance.
Each relic still sat in place, representing a Flame-Chaser:
“Mobius’s Ouroboros, Griseo’s painting, Eden’s musical score…”
One by one, Elysia scanned them.
Somehow, this spot felt exactly like a place for remembrance.
“……”
“‘Otto,’ don’t tell me... you designed the Altar of Remembrance for this?”
She narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
Hokuto was definitely capable of planning something that underhanded.
“I already said—if it weren’t for Kalpas, even this wouldn’t have survived,” Hokuto answered. “So no, it wasn’t some long-laid trap.”
If he really planned to bait players with the altar, why bother deleting all of Elysian Realm?
“Hmm…”
Elysia nodded, half-convinced.
Then she cast one final, deep glance at the display.
And left the hall.
“……”
“‘Otto,’ do you have anything else planned?”
With a calm smile, Elysia turned to ask Hokuto.
“Of course. It’s time for what everyone’s been waiting for—Elysia as the Herrscher of Human: Ego. Here’s a preview video.”
“That one?”
“Yes.”
Hokuto picked up another device from the side table.
And played the Honkai Impact 3rd promo PV.
The MiHoYo logo appeared—this time in pink.
Then, gentle violin music began.
Clad in her Herrscher armor, Elysia walked forward as flowers bloomed in her path.
An opening strike that hit the soul.
【What does "high production value" mean? It means they even made the logo pink.】
【↑ But you’re not pink (sad).】
【If anything can change tradition, it’s simping. MiHoYo is full of Elysia fans.】
Elysia blinked.
Hokuto chuckled quietly and adjusted his mask.
Truth is—he was one too.
【Elysia is so beautiful I’m just stunned.】
【Heaven’s daughter sent to walk with mankind.】
As the screen bloomed with pink petals...
Two lines of English text flashed:
"She knew someone had to take it all away when they left—so others would not grieve."
"But what she left behind... was everything. To eternity."
The BGM surged, intense.
Young Elysia’s voice echoed:
“I came, I saw, the ones who shone as they fought.”
“Every moment worth remembering.”
Thirteen Flame-Chasers flashed by—
Wisdom as sword. Judgment eternal.
Stars as tapestry. Radiance ablaze.
…
“So… I too will love this true self, forged by humanity.”
A cascade of glowing, radiant humanity.
The protagonist stepped onto the stage.
“I am Elysia, the first Herrscher—Herrscher of Human: Ego.”
She turned gracefully and smiled forward.
【That transition was insane!】
【Model and artwork are perfectly in sync! Gorgeous!】
【awsl (in pink font)】
Players were fully immersed in Elysia’s splendor.
As her spectacular battle effects lit up the screen, hearts fluttered.
【How can I not pull? I’m charging up now.】
【Wishing for Human Ego!】
【So dazzling, she might overload your phone~】
But just as the excitement peaked—
MiHoYo’s trademark twist arrived.
Even Elysia herself hadn’t expected it.
“Elysia-onee-san!”
Pardo’s voice suddenly rang out behind her.
Elysia: ?
Both the in-game and real-life Elysias blinked in confusion.
Then, on-screen, she turned around.
Pardofelis stood in front, waving excitedly. The other Flame-Chasers smiled behind her.
Elysia hesitated—then smiled sweetly.
And slowly walked toward them.
【MiHoYo ambushed us again. Beautiful. distorted face】
【A happy, perfect reunion. This is good. This is great.】
Just as the players began to weep—
It got even better.
The Herrscher of Human: Ego showcase ended...
A flash of white light.
When it faded—
Two Kevins stood face-to-face.
Two Kevins?!
One of them even looked like a succu— cough, quite... distinctive.
【Is this Kevin’s Human Collapse form? It's a little seduc— cough, I mean stylish.】
