Although the players were openly roasting the plot…
The story didn’t head in the direction they feared.
Because Elysia had already found her “paradise” and “companions.”
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken the initiative to join MOTH.
—
Soon after, Mei and Fairy Elysia arrived before another Crystal Flower.
This one emitted a vaguely “not-so-good” aura.
Of course, this didn’t mean the upcoming scene was particularly “explosive.”
It was simply because the memory didn’t belong to Elysia…
But rather to someone among the Flame-Chasers whose name alone made people uneasy…
Surely everyone already had one infamous doctor in mind.
“I think I know whose memory this is.”
Mei spoke as she reached out to touch the Crystal Flower.
The scene that followed took place after Elysia had joined MOTH.
It was her first encounter with the Flame-Chasers.
And by this point, Elysia had already grown into an adult.
Her personality had become exactly as players now knew and loved.
“…So this is MOTH’s hangar?”
“What, not what you expected?” Trace asked. “Did you think it’d be, what, a circle of giant stone slabs?”
Elysia replied with faint disappointment: “I was hoping for a humanoid weapon as tall as a building or two… Kinda disappointing.”
That line was a blatant Evangelion reference.
If this were the real world, the chat would’ve been flooded with:
“Another EVA homage.”
“A company twisted together by EVA superfans.”
“MiHoYo, you’re watching EVA again? Please, take a break.”
“MiFam still hasn’t gotten over EVA. I’m crying.”
Indeed, the joke about how joining MiHoYo required watching EVA a hundred times wasn’t just pulled out of thin air.
Their purity is undeniable.
Back in the story.
Trace chuckled. “Haha. Read too many manga? No matter how secretive an organization is, it’s still built by humans.”
“MOTH is essentially no different from the military-industrial complexes of human history—just that the enemy we fight isn’t human.”
As they continued chatting about MOTH, the conversation deepened.
Trace “warned” Elysia not to go near a certain area.
“Griseo’s probably in her mother’s office right now. But I’d suggest you don’t wander close to that place. After all…”
“After all what?”
A woman’s voice suddenly cut in from behind him.
Trace immediately changed his tone: “—After all, Doctor Mobius is a famously busy woman. Best not to disturb her~”
【This man flipped the switch instantly. 2333】
【Griseo’s dad Trace is a real character.】
“Hmph… I don’t have time for your slick talk, Trace.”
“And this one? A new recruit?”
Hearing Mobius speak, Elysia cheerfully waved at her.
This was the first meeting between Mobius and Elysia.
And their interaction was quite amusing.
Elysia asked if Mobius could give her a tour of MOTH’s base.
Mobius, cold and blunt as ever, promptly told her not to get involved with her.
Elysia responded like this:
“Uh… I don’t get it?”
“What?”
“That would be such a shame. I haven’t even gotten to know you yet! If I don’t get involved with you now, I might never get the chance to truly understand you.”
Mobius: “……”
【Alert: Pre-Civilization Pilipili (totally serious)】
【Elysia, why are you trying to flirt with everyone?!】
【Pre-Civilization Pilipili is terrifying (dog head)】
“…Weirdo.”
Mobius recovered her composure and replied expressionlessly.
Then she turned around and led the way, even offering a “kind” warning.
“Don’t smile so much! You better be careful—there’s been some instability in the organization. I hear a suspicious character snuck in. Even my badge got stolen. No idea what the culprit’s after…”
“Come on. You asked me for a tour, didn’t you? What are you standing around for? Keep up—I won’t wait.”
After fifty thousand years, some things really never change.
That prickly pride of hers could pierce right through the screen.
【Same flavor, same formula. Snake-sis’s attitude is as thorny as ever.】
【MOTH’s undisputed champion of stubborn pride.】
【While you’re all fixated on Snake-sis’s attitude, I’m wondering—who stole her badge? Don’t tell me it was Pardofelis?】
Some players started guessing who stole Mobius’s badge—
And immediately suspected Pardofelis.
But others quickly corrected that guess with lore accuracy:
【Hmm… wasn’t it mentioned in the Elysian Realm logs?
Elysia wanted a unique badge to stand out, so she disguised herself as a regular staff member and swiped Mobius’s No. 1 badge while she was researching Honkai disease.】
(Elysia’s recollection: “It All Starts From One”)
【So Mobius is warning the thief herself… That’s unintentionally hilarious.】
【Totally something Elysia would do.】
【Thank goodness for the live chat’s Honkai scholars. If the devs are dropping references I don’t get, it’s just awkward.】
…
As the players kept discussing—
The memory faded.
Fairy Elysia remarked in surprise, “So that was Mobius’s memory?”
“Oh my, the memory suddenly became ‘her as seen by others.’ Guess we can’t peek into Elysia’s inner thoughts this time.”
Can’t see Elysia’s thoughts?
Maybe that’s a little regrettable?
Hmm… no, not really.
When it comes to Elysia, you don’t need that kind of insight.
The one without flaw always shows her true self.
What she says is what she feels.
That was probably what Mei thought, too.
“Back then, Elysia likely joined MOTH to investigate her origins.”
“But I don’t believe… that was the reason she approached Mobius.”
“Being a partial insider, she probably had more questions than anyone else—what is a Herrscher, what is Honkai—but even so…”
“Her desire to understand Mobius wasn’t an act. I believe her sincerity toward others came from a far purer feeling.”
【That pure feeling being: she just likes pretty girls (fog)】
Mei looked ahead.
There, as if blooming in spring, countless Crystal Flowers filled a beautiful garden.
Waiting for a destined visitor to come and flip through them.
“With this meeting as the beginning, those who would leave deep marks in her life began to appear one by one…”
After speaking, she led Fairy Elysia forward.
This moment was portrayed in the game as a vast field of Crystal Flowers.
Radiant light shimmered throughout the scene—absolutely breathtaking.
“So many Crystal Flowers~~”
“Are these… everyone’s memories?”
Elysia’s eyes sparkled, reflecting the brilliance of the flower field.
“Which one should we look at first?”
“Hmm… How many Crystal Flowers are there here? One, two, three…”
She muttered to herself, counting curiously.
In fact, quite a few players reacted the same way—curiously trying to count the total number of Crystal Flowers.
“Eleven.”
Soon, Elysia finished counting.
“Plus the Mobius one from earlier, that makes twelve in total.”
【Twelve Crystal Flowers? MiHoYo’s attention to detail is as meticulous as ever.】
【So, which flower will Miss Fairy choose next?】
【Already finished: it doesn’t matter which one you pick.】
【Moderator, mute the guy who just spoiled everything (dog head)】
“Well, if they’re all the same…”
“Then let’s just pick one at random!”
