“What? The Hatake family opened a shop called the ‘Leaf Game Hall,’ selling a brand-new thing called ‘Genjutsu Game,’ and Tsunade, Jiraiya, the Ino–Shika–Cho trio, and Kakashi’s disciples have all invested in this new store.”
In Konoha No. 2, within the Root base, Shimura Danzo—though disabled—had regained his Kage-level strength thanks to transplanted Hashirama cells and Sharingan, leaving his body crippled but his spirit unbowed. He frowned deeply, feeling puzzled and confused by the new intelligence report.
Just this morning, a new shop opened in Konoha, and the Fifth Hokage Tsunade, along with the Ino–Shika–Cho trio and one of the Legendary Sannin, Jiraiya, attended to cut the ribbon for the store’s opening. Their reputations as Konoha’s top figures provided free publicity for the shop.
This store, run by Hatake Kakashi with the others investing to help, instantly became the hottest place in Konoha. Many people came over out of curiosity.
At first, people were shocked by the steep prices for playing in the game hall or buying the Genjutsu Game. It was so expensive that ordinary people could hardly afford it—just like in the main world’s Konoha at the beginning.
However, once they understood the nature and effects of the Genjutsu Game, the idea that it was overpriced instantly vanished, replaced by the feeling that the price was worth every coin!
After all, the incredibly realistic genjutsu experience brought sensory stimulation beyond compare, with no substitute. Ordinary people could experience the extraordinary, and ninja could use it for training, life-or-death combat simulations, and teamwork practice.
Most importantly, the stories told within were unforgettable. For the ninja world, starved of entertainment, it was an unprecedented experience.
Incidentally, for those with a taste for the risqué, there were also hidden artistic masterpieces in the Genjutsu Game that could stir the blood. Of course, these contents had strict review standards—no one under eighteen could buy them, and they were never openly sold. Sales staff would privately select targets, spread the word discreetly, and those customers would in turn recommend them to “like-minded” individuals, expanding the clientele.
Currently, these Genjutsu Games had no online connection; only a local network within the game hall existed. So, like the main world’s Konoha with Genjutsu Game 1.0, if you wanted to play multiplayer, you either had to go to the game hall or gather friends to play at home.
But no matter the method, it was too advanced for present-day Konoha. Countless people became addicted after their first try, and sales of the Genjutsu Game kept rising—bringing a fresh wave of emotional value to Uchiha Kei.
By the way, even No. 2 world’s Kage-level powerhouses like Fifth Hokage Tsunade and elderly Jiraiya, after playing the Genjutsu Game, also provided Uchiha Kei with emotional value and “golden spirit.” This directly confirmed Kei’s initial suspicion: the system was unaffected by crossing worlds. Even if he was in the main world, the system could receive emotional value across worlds.
This further proved that the system’s important “sales volume” statistic counted parallel worlds as well.
For Uchiha Kei, this was absolutely good news. If he could open up one parallel world, there was a chance to open more.
With enough worlds, sales would no longer be limited by the backward social structure of the ninja world. His plan to complete system tasks, earn more rewards, improve the Mental Network System, and strengthen himself could proceed much faster.
Of course, this didn’t mean Uchiha Kei abandoned his push for civilization’s development. It was simply that instead of a single option, he now had two approaches to pursue in parallel.
These were Uchiha Kei’s strategic choices. Once decided, they only needed steady advancement.
As for No. 2 Shimura Danzo, he naturally didn’t know these hidden truths. All he knew came from Root members, who reported the news only that afternoon after the game hall’s opening.
The Root members didn’t just report the facts—they also shared personal experiences from playing the Genjutsu Game and other gathered details.
All of this was told to No. 2 Danzo.
After reading the entire report with his cold, single eye, No. 2 Danzo’s expression turned grim.
“Do Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado know about this?”
Root ninja: “The two elders were unaware, so today they quarreled with Lady Tsunade in the Hokage’s office over this matter.”
Hearing this, No. 2 Danzo narrowed his eyes. “Hmph. Completely unaware? Those two are truly growing senile—finding out last, and from Tsunade, their junior.”
“And that woman Tsunade… doing this behind the elders’ backs. Doesn’t she realize the enormous strategic value of this Genjutsu Game to Konoha? To allow Hatake Kakashi to open such a public game hall—this is gambling with Konoha’s present and future! Utterly senseless. She’s nothing like a qualified Hokage!”
His words carried dissatisfaction toward both old comrades and the Fifth Hokage. Still, it wasn’t deep fury—just displeasure.
After all, Tsunade was not like the Third Hokage, who indulged him. Without necessity, he seldom met her, since Root was nominally under the Hokage’s control.
Moreover, even the Third Hokage, after Danzo and Uchiha Itachi took it upon themselves to wipe out the Uchiha clan, had been furious—dissolving Root and placing Danzo under house arrest. If not for Orochimaru’s Konoha Crush removing the Third from the stage, Danzo didn’t know when he’d have been freed.
With that lesson, No. 2 Danzo, though rebuilding Root during Tsunade’s shaky early tenure, kept a low profile—never again taking unilateral actions. No more “creating Pain” or persecuting Konoha’s important clans.
But thinking Danzo had turned honest was naïve. He was merely biding his time, waiting to reclaim everything he had lost—including the Hokage’s seat.
Even with one foot in the grave, Shimura Danzo’s dream of becoming Hokage would not die. He swore he would take back everything with his own hands.
The tide always turns—never underestimate an old man with nothing to lose!
And now, No. 2 Danzo felt his chance had come.
This time, Tsunade bypassing the elders and acting unilaterally would undoubtedly anger them. Danzo knew his two old comrades’ personalities well: age and declining strength had only deepened their obsession with power and sensitivity to challenges to their authority.
Tsunade’s behavior was tantamount to grinding the elders’ authority into the dirt, ensuring their strong resentment.
No. 2 Danzo saw this as the perfect opportunity to win them over.
He remembered how the Uchiha Massacre had enraged not only Hiruzen but also Koharu and Homura.
Though the two shared Danzo’s anti-Uchiha stance, they had never wanted complete annihilation—only to eliminate the Uchiha hawks, drastically weakening the clan while keeping some members under control.
The massacre touched their reverse scale, triggering the “if today the Uchiha, tomorrow us” mentality.
In the ninja world, nothing was impossible. Once such a precedent was set, it could be repeated—after all, the First Hokage himself had set such examples.
Thus, after the massacre, Koharu and Homura turned from Danzo’s allies into opponents. This was why, after the Third’s death, they never considered supporting Danzo, choosing between Jiraiya and the seemingly unreliable Tsunade instead.
Danzo knew all this well. It was why he had kept such a low profile—he had no supporters in Konoha’s leadership, unlike in the past.
But Tsunade’s latest move gave him a chance to bring Koharu and Homura back to his side.
With their backing, his bid for the Hokage’s seat would gain powerful momentum.
So, after thinking for a while, No. 2 Danzo ordered his subordinates to investigate the game hall and the Genjutsu Game thoroughly. They must uncover its origins and any hidden secrets.
His sharp intuition told him: if he could uncover the truth, he could deal a heavy blow to Tsunade and get closer than ever to the Hokage’s seat!
Indeed, Danzo was still Danzo. Even after twenty years, his thinking hadn’t changed—just like No. 1 Danzo in the main world, who had believed the Genjutsu Game was part of an Uchiha plot to seize the Hokage’s position, and so opposed it fiercely.
Of course, No. 2 Danzo didn’t know it was created with Uchiha power. He merely wanted to use its secrets to topple Tsunade, then keep it for himself to consolidate power and strengthen Konoha.
The Genjutsu Game’s value was obvious—even without playing it, the reports showed its immense strategic worth. If kept secret and used well, it could greatly enhance Konoha’s ninja strength while slashing training costs.
Such a treasure should be hidden and used in secret!
Thinking this, No. 2 Danzo set his men to work while he himself took a purchased Genjutsu Game to his room to try it.
Unlike No. 1 Danzo, he had no worries about potential danger—it was “just genjutsu.” With Hashirama cells, multiple three-tomoe Sharingan, and Shisui Uchiha’s Mangekyo Sharingan in his right eye, he was confident in his resistance. Even Itachi’s Tsukuyomi didn’t scare him.
A mere Genjutsu Game? He believed he could handle it easily, even if it had hidden dangers.
In fact, he even hoped it would be dangerous—then he’d have cause to attack Tsunade.
And so, No. 2 Danzo became immersed in the Genjutsu Game’s world, just like the main world’s Danzo and Uchiha Madara.
Though not crippled like No. 1 Danzo, in the Genjutsu Game, youth and health were his for the taking—a temptation impossible to resist for a man half in the grave.
His addiction was inevitable.
Now, he only hungered more for the game’s source and core. No. 2 Danzo wanted the technology to make Genjutsu Games, or the people who could do it, under his control. With it, he could do much—and make Konoha great again!
And all of this… was known to Uchiha Kei.
After all, the highest authority over the Genjutsu Game was his—and he also had the White Zetsu.
Under double surveillance, No. 2 Danzo’s actions and plans were almost completely in Kei’s grasp.
He passed this intel to a young Kakashi.
Seeing it, Kakashi sincerely thanked him.
Uchiha Kei just waved it off. “No need for thanks. After all, making your Konoha ‘clean’ is only to our mutual benefit. Helping you is only natural.”
After a pause, he added, “Also, my main body sent word—Uchiha Sasuke has successfully awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, and will soon be told the truth about the Uchiha clan’s massacre.”
Kakashi’s lone eye widened slightly. After a brief silence, he said, “Is that really wise?”
Kei shrugged. “It’s not only you who know—Akatsuki also knows, and they’ll tell Sasuke. And if they do, who knows what he’ll think.”
“Sometimes, conflicts spiral out of control because there are too many hidden secrets and too much riddling.”
“So learning the truth early may actually help ease tensions.”
He added, “Besides, Sasuke is one of the most clear-headed in the Uchiha. And the true culprit behind the Uchiha clan’s destruction isn’t today’s Konoha, but the pre-Konoha Crush leadership headed by the Konoha Elder Council, right?”
Kakashi was silent, then nodded. “Tell Sasuke that Shimura Danzo’s trial awaits his participation.”
Kei smiled. “Rest assured, my main body will deliver that message.”
