Elysia moved her character to the corner, thoughtfully touching one of the crystal flowers.
Memories began to unfold again.
But unlike before, they didn’t come one by one—instead, they came all at once in waves.
Several memories surged into Mei’s mind simultaneously.
Among them was—
A recollection of Vill-V joining the Flame-Chasers.
Vill-V had been captured, and with Elysia vouching for her, she was allowed to join the organization.
Even though Mobius warned Elysia that Vill-V was dangerous, Elysia firmly believed:
“How would we know unless we try? To test someone’s sincerity, we must first choose to trust, right?”
Then there was—
Elysia’s first encounter with Kosma.
It all began with a prank.
“Let’s use this megaphone to broadcast Kosma’s glorious achievements~”
Elysia said this to Dystopia.
“Stop—!!”
Kosma immediately panicked.
After all, who wouldn’t if their emotional breakdowns from Kevin’s scoldings were about to be publicly announced?
【Cried four times in one day from Kevin’s lectures? This gag is immortal now, huh? HAHAHA.】
【And public broadcast too? I’m dying.】
【Another megaphone moment? So she already had one ready back then?】
【So the evil megaphone actually has a 50,000-year history.】
【No wonder Elysia was so smooth using it later on.】
The players were absolutely delighted seeing this blackmail-tier memory of Kosma.
That’s how the writers always do it.
Whether you’re ready or not, whether you know the emotional debuffs are coming—
When it’s time to laugh, you’ll still laugh. You’ll be immersed, eating debuffs and enjoying it.
…
After the laughter faded, the scene shifted to Elysia and Sakura.
Their first joint covert mission.
Naturally, Elysia the Social Overlord enthusiastically struck up conversation.
“You’re a pink-haired girl, and I’m a pink-haired girl too…”“If we change into the same outfit and stand together, people will definitely think we’re sisters.”“So, Sakura, I’ll leave it to you to be the big sister, okay?”
Sakura: “……”
Sakura: “Fine. You… have a point.”
【Sakura: Ugh, fine.】
【Elysia’s social skills are terrifying.】
【Sakura is the only mentally stable Flame-Chaser left.】
【Hua: ???】
【Speaking of Hua, I’m suddenly really looking forward to seeing her appear in Elysia’s memories.】
…
The memory of Elysia and Sakura ended.
Next came Elysia’s first meeting with Griseo—or rather, the first time she “kidnapped” a child?
“Come here, Griseo—this way! Let me pinch your cheeks... wow, so soft~♪”
Griseo: “Mmm…”
Griseo let out an adorably muffled whimper.
It’s worth noting...
The real-life Elysia kept replaying this sound effect multiple times with great joy.
Griseo: “Mmm~~ Mmm~~ Mmm~~” n
【This is getting weird.】
【Miss Fairy, what are you doing?!】
【Actually… this kind of thing is pretty relatable. Who wouldn’t replay it a few times?】
【How do you know that?】
【Open up! Flame-Chasers! We’re arresting all of you!】【It’s hard to imagine what the recording studio looked like during this scene.】
Elysia herself was also curious.
How exactly did Griseo manage to deliver such a performance?
After all...
She really wanted to spectate at the time—but didn’t manage to secure the right to be present.
She was deeply critical of this “solo enjoyment” behavior!
Back to the story.
Elysia kept pinching Griseo’s cheeks and commented:
“You’re so cute. Nothing like your father. Thank goodness!”
【Ato: Elysia, was that really necessary?】
【“Thank goodness,” she says.】
【Elysia, that’s a loaded statement and you know it.】
“Mmm~~ Mmm~~ Mmm~~”
Griseo’s cheeks were squished again and again as she let out soft, helpless sounds.
Then, Elysia suddenly stopped.
“Oh right, since Auntie Mobius isn’t around, let’s sneak out and play!”
About that… [Image: Pinching a child’s cheeks while kidnapping them from their green-haired guardian.jpg]
After that, it was Aponia’s turn.
Many used to fear her—but not Elysia.
After all, she loved beautiful girls the most.
And that’s not a joke.
Elysia said it herself.
The scene changed again.
To the Flame-Chasers’ medical bay.
Elysia found Su, Kevin’s close friend, and asked if he knew Kevin’s weakness.
Elysia: Ah~ I’m sick. I won’t recover unless I know Kevin’s weakness~♪
Su: “……”
He was probably thinking: “This girl is unhinged.”
Another scene shift.
To the deepest confines.
Elysia visited the imprisoned Kalpas.
This meeting marked the start of their pact:
An unending battle in exchange for his role as “trial by fire.”
(Elysia’s Reminiscence: Subjugation)
But that wasn’t even the most “noteworthy” part of this memory.
The biggest takeaway was—
Elysia wanted to see Kalpas’s face beneath the mask.
Brother Kalpas’s true face!
Who wouldn’t want to see that?
【I want to see Kalpas’s face too!】
【Did Elysia see it?!】
【MiHoYo, don’t you think there should’ve been a CG here?】
【To this day, we still don’t know if he ever took off the mask.】
Scene change again.
Late night, dormitory corridor.
Elysia suddenly appeared to stop a sneaky Pardofelis.
Their first encounter was due to Pardofelis picking up a hairclip Mobius had accidentally lost.
Elysia didn’t hold her accountable. She just took a crystal flower brooch from her stash of “merchandise.”
(Which was probably Elysia’s to begin with…)
Then another scene shift—
To the meeting room.
Hua finally made her long-awaited appearance.
Of course, players immediately got sidetracked.
【Meeting room? Is this the legendary noodle-slurping sacred site? (thinking)】【Sacred site for noodle-slurping? Incredible. LOL.】
As always, players remained in top form.
And so did Elysia.
Unlike what Hua imagined would be a formal handoff between superior and subordinate, Elysia—acting as MANTIS performance evaluator—assigned Hua her first task:
Get dressed up and attend the traditional Flame-Chasers’ dance party.
Seriously…
Who thought letting Elysia handle performance reviews was a good idea?
It always felt like—
Elysia would assign bizarre tasks.
Then the next day, the base would be full of MANTIS running laps yelling:
“Dear Elysia~~”
No. No. That’s just too weird.
But… why does it also feel completely possible?
Ahem. Back to topic.
Hua and Elysia’s meeting ended.
The memories approached their final stretch.
In a lounge that Elysia had meticulously decorated—
She and Kevin were “discussing” plans.
A plan for the future of the MANTIS—
“What I’m planning... is not just a ‘hero team’—but humanity’s final line of defense.”
“...The Thirteen Flame-Chasers.”
……
Countless memories surged forth, flooding Mei’s mind.
A person’s life—was made up of such fragmented, complicated, and endlessly long moments.
After a while—
The wave of memory fragments, like the tide, finally began to subside.
She couldn’t help but murmur:
“...So many chaotic memories. So much happened.”
【What even is this chapter?! It’s so sweet it feels unreal.】
Mei reflected quietly. The players did too.
【Part Two seems to be all about happiness and warmth.】
But…
They hadn’t had time to savor it—
When suddenly, Elysia’s exclusive BGM—elysia—started playing.
The mood subtly shifted.
Mei continued:
“She was always smiling, like a happy little fairy, never seeming to feel sadness.”
“Even in the Elysian Realm Realm… just looking at her brought joy and comfort.”
“Because a person’s nature doesn’t change.”
Fairy Elysia responded:
“Elysia’s feelings for everyone couldn’t have been fake, right?”
“Even if no one knew she was a Herrscher… even if Herrschers were destined to be enemies of humanity in that logical era… she had to be different, right?”
“So, her ending must be happy and warm… right??”
Her triple-question barrage stirred the players emotionally.
Don’t ask them—they didn’t know either!
That question clearly belonged to the writers…
Scriptwriter, this one’s for you.
【Yeah, you. Answer the question.】
【“Right, right”—that sounds like someone’s catchphrase. Can’t remember who though.】
【Fairy Elysia seems... kind of off?】
The players had no answer.
And neither did Mei.
Maybe… she didn’t know how to respond either.
She changed the topic:
“...Speaking of which, there’s someone important missing from all those memories.”
“I think… we might find the answer in the memories she left behind.”
“Come, Eden...”
She turned to the last remaining crystal flower in the garden.
And gently reached out to touch it.
