That's right.
Just as everyone had guessed—
Elysia had changed into a new outfit.
Herrscher of Human: Ego — Elysia, had made her entrance.
“Hmm…”
Hokuto looked at the elegantly dressed Elysia taking her seat and let out a thoughtful murmur.
“‘Mr. Otto’…” That caught Elysia’s attention. “What is it?”
“No, nothing… I was just thinking—with an outfit this elaborate and full of dangling pieces, you should be careful not to get it caught on something…”
Hokuto said this in a rather cryptic way—at least, it sounded completely out of place to Elysia.
“Hmm… I got it. Thank you for your concern, ‘Mr. Otto’?”
So Elysia didn’t take his words too seriously.
She thanked Hokuto politely, then turned to the camera and waved.
“Hi~♪ How does it feel?”
【Just like the first time we met!】n
【Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!】
【When it comes to ‘surprise reveals,’ no one beats Miss Fairy!】
“Looks like everyone really liked this little surprise. That’s wonderful to hear.”
With that, Elysia picked up the device in front of her.
“Let’s carry this feeling forward together.”
【……】
【Is the Elysian Realm story… really ending? I feel so reluctant to say goodbye.】
“No need to feel sad. Look—they once lived with pride and stayed true to the end.”
“They composed a symphony of civilization with their lives…”
Elysia, already logged in and at the main screen of Elysian Realm, paused briefly as she sensed the shift in atmosphere.
After a moment’s thought, she shared her feelings.
“Though our path ends here, we’ve done all that we could.”
“And your journey will still continue, won’t it?”
“Elysia… you’re right.”
Hokuto’s voice was soft—almost weightless.
“To witness this flame-chasing journey… to walk beyond the resting place of the fallen… and to create the future they never reached.”
“Yes, the future.”
Elysia echoed the word “future,” her voice full of hopeful longing.
【Yes! No matter what, we must move forward!】
【I won’t accept the Flame-Chasers’ fate ending like this—I won’t accept it for the rest of my life!】
【Take down the Herrscher of Corruption!!】
【I analyzed everything for hours earlier. I think the second phase of the main story might actually be kind of sweet… at most it’ll be a ‘nobody left in the building’ ending. We’ve already gone through so much, we’ve got nothing left to fear.】
Encouraged by Elysia’s words, the players picked themselves back up.
Then—Part 2 of Chapter 31 officially began.
Lines of narration flickered across the screen.
In the beginning, the world was chaos.
No light, no darkness; no beginning, no end.
All that remained here was pure void.
And in that void, she was born.
“……”
She breathed softly.
Her voice was gentle, innocent, uncertain.
Though the on-screen name still showed as “???” and the voice sounded particularly young, everyone could already recognize—it was Elysia.
【That voice… is that Elysia?】
【Aba-aba? Cute.jpg】
A few comments flew by in the stream.
But they didn’t interrupt the story’s flow.
As the first sound echoed in the void,
It stirred faint, silent ripples.
Then came light.
The light was faint—yet dazzling.
More and more motes of light entered, carrying with them sound, color, and a certain gentle warmth.
They cascaded downward, across the surface of a still lake, sending ripples through the water.
Like seeds. Like sprouts. Like a flower about to bloom.
“Ah…”
That innocent voice gradually grew clearer.
She opened her eyes.
“Ah…”
She saw lush forests, sweet springwater; drifting clouds and birds in song.
The world reflected in her eyes, and she was reflected in the world.
A breeze brushed her cheek, greeting her arrival.
She opened her mouth slightly, as if to respond to the earth’s welcome.
“Waaah… uuuu…”
A single cry.
Thus, the first sound that this smiling girl brought to the world was a newborn’s cry.
【Is this about Elysia’s birth? So she was truly a child of nature… props to whoever predicted that.】
【A true Herrscher from birth.】
【Oddly sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet.】
【This part really made me feel how beautiful it is when new life enters the world… I’m tearing up.】
【I’m really curious what the voice acting process was like.】
……
Well, honestly, not much happened at the time.
It’s just that Elysia…
Went to Durandal—who once voiced her younger self—and asked for advice.
As for what happened during that “advice session,” Hokuto wasn’t too sure.
He only remembered Durandal giving Elysia strange looks for several days afterward.
Better not dwell on that.
In any case, Elysia quickly and perfectly captured the feeling of innocent wonder in the recording.
Back to the story.
After that short prologue about Elysia’s birth ended—
The perspective returned to Mei.
Having gathered all the Flame-Chasers’ memories, she reconstructed Elysia within her memory space.
Finally, she arrived at the end of it all.
The truth she had longed for ever since she first stepped into the Elysian Realm.
What was the answer?
But the part that had awakened still wasn’t enough—there was one last step Mei needed to take.
【???】
【Didn’t Elysia already show up in full dress earlier? Why is there still more plot? Where’s my giant Elysia?!】
【Ugh, MiHoYo must’ve given us the “dream” early because they were worried we’d pass out from anticipation.】
【I’m impatient, I’m so impatient, I’m really impatient.】
A touch of urgency stirred in the players’ hearts.
To this, Hokuto could only say: “I know you’re excited, but please—just hold on a bit longer.”
The story of Elysia from the Previous Era had to be told.
After all—this was the last chance.
Elysian Realm was about to end.
“Beloved humans!”
A bright, cheery voice rang out, drawing everyone’s attention.
Hmm…
This time, it was different—
Mei now had a reliable guide.
And as for who this reliable guide was?
Well, no mystery there.
It was, of course, our adorable fairy Elysia!
“Let the cutest fairy in the Symphonic Nation—me, Elysia—guide you, dear human, through the final steps of this journey.”
Fairy Elysia hugged her magical staff as she spoke to Mei.
“As you can see, this pink-pink Elysian Realm is formed by four Crystal Flowers and serves as the [finale], a [replay] of that night long ago.”
“Right now, Elysia is waiting for you in the hall at the far end of this paradise~~”
Actually, there was a subtle detail here.
Fairy Elysia always referred to herself as the “mature me,” never as “Elysia.”
Which meant…
This “Fairy Elysia” was already no longer just Fairy Elysia—she was Elysia.
As for why she was doing this?
Besides the narrative logic of “tell Elysia’s story now or lose the chance forever,”
Within the plot itself—
Elysia just wanted Mei to see her memories before meeting her Herrscher self.
To observe how Mei would react.
Because deep down, she was still afraid…
Would Mei accept that version of her?
So she behaved just like any ordinary girl.
“All you need to do is be the perfect guest, attend this grand celebration in your most beautiful form—and bring everything to a perfect close!”
“My most beautiful form…” Mei echoed, puzzled. “How should I do that?”
【I know this one! Use Honkai power to do anything.jpg】
【Mei, quick, use your overpowered Honkai energy to come up with something!】
【If Herrscher powers can apply eyeliner, then using them to conjure a beautiful outfit makes total sense.】
【Everything else is optional, but Mei must wear her horns. (doge)】
