The Visual Novel Dialogues module offers the opportunity to transform your social scenes using a Visual Novels Dialogues window, styled after visual novels or JRPGs, but with special functionality tailored for seamless gameplay in D&D or other tabletop RPGs.
Key features of Visual Novel Dialogues include:
Creating and saving locations with their own backgrounds, weather, location names, parent locations, and more.
Searching and selecting locations conveniently through a location selection window using filter tags or names.
Creating "Portraits" of characters (or linking them to actors) with attached portrait images, names, titles, and additional settings to enhance display.
Searching and selecting Portraits similarly to locations in the actor selection window.
Customizing the "scene" of the Visual Novel window with 1 to 4-10 Portraits, moving them between slots, and adjusting their size and position for convenience.
The Presets system allows you to save pre-prepared "scenes" with Portraits arranged in locations.
Additional functionalities include:
A Requests system ranging from "unimportant" to "urgent" integrated into the Visual Novel window, simplifying and speeding up interaction with players in social scenes.
The ability to hide the Visual Novel window background if you need to see the scene.
The ability to hide all Visual Novel interface elements except the background.
Integration with Epic Rolls and Monk Display modules if available.
Comfortable use of the standard FoundryVTT interface even with the Visual Novel window open, taking up the entire window space.
An inactive queue at the top of the screen visible only to the Game Master.
The ability for mass automatic addition and configuration of actor Portraits for which a corresponding image file was found in the default folder (selected in the settings).
And much more...
You can find all the functionality of the module in this document

Do you have any suggestions when trying to use this module through The Forge? On my local version of Foundry it shows up in the installed modules but when I install it on The Forge it doesn't show up
Nazgob
Yes, in the latest update the ability to change the UI of the VN window (partially) was added, and you can forcefully show the background in the toolbar (buttons on the left of the scene)
Nazgob
Unfortunately, the cloud storage website on which the module is located has down. I don’t know when it will work again, this happens rarely and does not last long. If you want, I can send the archive with the module on discord :P

The manifest URL does not work for me. When I click the link it says that the site can't be reached. If I try to install the link via foundry it says that it has timed out.

Is there a way to force show the background to the players? And is there a way to hide the calendar, eyeball thing, and temperature?
Nazgob
Okay, it'll be done ✔
Nazgob
Ooooh right, sowry, I completely forgot about that, thanks. I'll fix it in the next patch :P

Could you add a setting to remove the text from the character sheet header and just use an icon? It's long enough that it's removing the "Close" button from the default sized sheet for NPCs in the PF2e system.
Clarence Olivier
Hi, would it be possible to make temperature, weather and time hideable? I find them unnecessary
Nazgob
Yeap, I’ll do it, but not very soon, this is not a priority yet in my toDo list. Maybe I’ll do it by the end of next week, but I don’t promise
ZNAG
Hello a background image scaling button / widget would be great addition. Having an issue where all my backgrounds are too zoomed in
Nazgob
I don’t understand how this always happens, but lol, that’s exactly what I’m doing now. Today there will be a patch with additional font settings (and its improvements in general) :)
Gloria
I don't see an option for changing the font sizes. Will that be added in the near future? Some of my players noted that the location titles were cut off on smaller screens.
Nazgob
ok I fixed it, problems with the cloud storage site
Nazgob
Lol what? what's wrong with the link manifest? I’m literally now looking at this file on the site where the manifest is stored, and it says 1.4, but when I download the file I see 1.3.1. wtf?
Nazgob
In the module settings you can set from 1 to 5 Portrait slots
Nazgob
Ugh... I honestly don't understand why location names not fitting, and I still haven’t been able to get this error for myself. Please DM me
Alice Frost
how do I add more of the spaces for images? I can't figure out the input for it.
xKazuko Worst
If it is. The location names are still not fitting within the width. If its a particularly long name.
xKazuko Worst
Is the update out? It still says 1.3.1 in the manifest
Nazgob
Hm... Not sure about the chat. If you want, DM me, and then I can see what the problem might be. And about ability to open the VN window with selected tokens into it - I'm actually working on that right now :)

Was not working with text chat, but may be a module conflict, ill test it more is there anyway to "Add Selected actor" to the visual novel slots?
Nazgob
That's strange.. I can guess that one of the following issues occurred: - I'm almost 100% sure that the default buttons are "K" and "L", but if for some reason it's "F3" and "F4" (which should be strange), they may not work properly in the browser, and you should change them in the foundry world "Game Settings >> Configure Controls". - Does the Visual Novel window appear for a moment when the world is launched? If not, something is wrong with the module's launch, and there may be some compatibility issue or idk. In any case, feel free to DM me to resolve the issue in a more convenient format (https://discordapp.com/users/323788153242648577/)
Nazgob
As usual, you need to paste the link into the "Manifest URL" field in the FoundryVTT module installation window and click "Install". If you still encounter an error after that, the problem is likely either with Foundry or with the website where the module is stored, which might have been down for a couple of minutes (although that hasn't happened in a while). If the problem persists, please DM me (https://discordapp.com/users/323788153242648577/)
Nazgob
You can open the chat tab within the Visual Novel window using the button at the top right, so the module can be used for both voice and text games

Does this Support Text or is VC only

The hotkeys to open up the dialogue screen doesn't appear to work for me and I'm not sure why, are there any known incompatibilities?
Ron
Manifest link isn't working, please help. The link doesn't lead to anything, nor does it work as a download for me. Also got the error "Unable to load valid module manifest from data"
