This episode reminded of the ep this past December when Alaska didn't understand why Congress passed the Respect For Marriage Act 2024 and state legislators were enshrining same-sex marriage in their constitutions -- they knew that the republicans were coming for it. To Alaska, this seems like a waste of time and effort because health insurance and groceries are expensive; I agree -- but for those whom who rely on health insurance and monetary benefits through their spouse, invalidating their marriage could be devastating. Sure, Alaska says she will get marriage despite the legality of their union -- but for others, this could be life or death. I doubt this message will do anything, but I am hoping that the political segment can become more beneficial/informative and less flippant. Maybe bring on an expert to talk about these things ... IDK.
